These are pretty comfy and run true to size with enough room for thick socks. Stepped through some puddles with no wet socks.

I love my Sugarpine boot! I have been hiking in them during the fall and spring and have been very happy. I also want to wear them during the summer. They do keep your feet very warm. While hiking, I stepped into a few puddles and my socks stayed dry. It wasn't until my foot slipped into a creek and stayed there for a minute that I felt the water. These have good, but not great traction. I love the ankle support and the fact that they are not as stiff or heavy as other hiking boots. They almost feel like running shoes. And the color selection is fabulous. I chose the grey and teal.

The first time I wore these was on an 11 mile hike, 8,800 elevation. The second hike was 14 miles. No blisters and no sore feet. They are very lightweight. So far so great!I have narrow feet and I'm flat foot, so the boot is a little big. I bought a 1/2 size up so that I could wear thick socks and accommodate for swelling.

Five stars! Bought these at a different location as I needed them right away. The store clerk recommended the brand and said they were soft, lightweight, and felt like slippers so I tried a pair. He only had the Astral Aura (purpley color) available and I was not so sure about the bright color, but that's all he had in my size. They really did feel like heaven on my feet and aren't big and clunky like other hiking shoes.
I normally wear a 7 in sandals, 7.5 in regular shoes, and maybe an 8 in running shoes. This one fit me in 7.5. I chose a bit larger so as my feet got tired, it would be roomy. The toe box is not as large as I would like but hasn't proven to be a problem. I have wide feet in the front with narrow heels and worried the heel would slip. It does, but has never made a blister!
The shoe took me on an over 5 mile hike and was AWESOME!! Waterproof and warm - but for me (i'm usually cold) they are not too warm for summer hikes.
The sole is flexible, but not too much so, and has a grip and good tread. I don't feel much arch support in the shoe, but is still quite comfortable!

Great looking in the grey turquoise. Very light. Fits as expected. Trim at the ankle so it fits under most jeans. I wear a 7 in dress shoes and bought a 7.5 in this shoe. It was a mildly short at the toes on my slightly larger right foot and since I have no choice but a half size smaller, I picked that, but I'd say a 1/4 size smaller. I'm wider in the mid foot and have a small bunion on my right foot. Definitely buy at least .5 larger than your dress shoes if you're wearing heavier socks. I wear Smartwool. I also tried them with my green Smart Feet insoles and they fit great. I decided to return because I wanted a heavier boot for Alaska and bought Salomon which fit best in a 7. I almost kept these for light hiking and day wear because they are so nice looking and I liked the trim ankle fit. In the end two new pair of hiking boots was more than I wanted to spend with an expensive Alaska trip coming up.

The "deep teal" color has a red on the sole that matches everything from pink, to purple, to maroon, to true red-and the laces bring in just a bit of brown. So this color is not only unique, it goes well with my entire winter wardrobe.
It's a light boot, too -noticed that before even opening the box! Light shoes, like tennis shoes. The 7 I normally wear in every other shoe (except where it's 6.5) were small on me-darn hereditary bunions- but also, with socks on, my big toes nearly touched the inside front of the shoe.
Am ordering one half size up, b/c I love these shoes. Should be very, very comfortable in the right size. Going to use them as winter shoes & after-ski boots.

I love these boots! I was not familiar with the brand but purchased them based off the great reviews. That was a smart move, comfy, lightweight, waterproof and fun color! I have recommended this brand to at least 5 people and I believe they have all purchased.

These boots were great - they are very light and still provide a good bit of support. My feet have grown in the last 5 years, so I now wear an 8.5 - However, while the length of the shoe was perfect the width was a bit narrow. If you have very wide feet (or have bunions) these boots might prove to be a bit narrow. I'll be exchanging mine for the size 9, which fit my width better and I'll just wear thick socks to make up for the length.

I wore these boots on a trip to Machu Picchu, hiking the Inca trail. They were perfect, light weight and comfortable. Now I am buying my second pair. Love them!

I put these to the test right away. I had no time to break them in. These are the best hiking boots I've ever owned! I found myself looking down at them often thinking how great these look on me. ;) These are much more attractive than your standard hiking boot. I had no blisters after my first 6 hour hike in the Smoky Mountains. I can't say enough about these. I even had the Smartwool socks that matched so well! I would recommend these to anyone, especially people that usually prefer hiking shoes. Best purchase on Zappos so far!

After 3 foot surgeries on my right foot, metal plate and screws, and a ligament reattachment, it has been impossible to find anything that is comfortable. Additionally, both feet supinate. I ordered 9 pair of shoes/boots from Zappos trying to find something to wear with my scrubs at work. Honestly, hope left decades ago that footwear could ever feel comfortable again. These keep my right ankle stable and I walk correctly in these! These were a keeper right out of the box! I am keeping these and a pair of Mizunos that are equally amazing!

Love these boots! They are super comfortable and light but very supportive. Nice traction, too. I wear between an 8 and 8 1/2 and the 8 1/2 fit nicely with a medium sock.

Great boot. Well made, comfortable and stylish. The color was disappointing, though. The color looks more red. My boots are definitely burgundy - very pinkish. Not my color at all, but I needed them for a trip so I kept them.

Excellent hiking/walking boot! I wore them without having any break-in time hiking in Lake Arrowhead and walking in San Diego. They were extremely comfortable and good looking too.

I wanted to warm up in these boots before going on a trip to Yosemite but I did not get a chance. So I took a risk. My first time wearing these was on a hike up Yosemite falls - 7 miles round trip and 2,700 feet in elevation gain. We hiked through rough surfaces, smooth surfaces, and through water. At the top of the hike we were up to knee-deep snow. The boots did not give me any trouble at all and my feet stayed dry. I was amazed that I did not even have a single blister. I did find myself slipping a little over icy/wet surfaces but you really need cleats for any boot in that case. I am a solid size 8 and went for a 9. It was the perfect size for wearing hiking socks, and allowed room for swelling. We were descending at a very aggressive angle for two hours and did not have any trouble with toes butting up against the shoe. I highly recommend these shoes!

I have had these now for almost two months and I love them! I have not hiked in them yet but I have worn them a good bit out into the snow and for work and running errands. They are very comfortable boots! I love that they are not overly bulky. The construction appears very solid too. I always wear a 10 and felt these were a true fit unless you need more than one pair of socks and then you would need to size up a little. I just wear regular socks or SmartWool with mine. I do not need them for much below about 20° anyway. The width felt a tad wider than average. If these were running shoes, I am not sure if I could keep them. I selected too wide since I could not select slightly wider than average. The turquoise color is so pretty! I am so glad that I tried this brand.

These boots really are the greatest. I've had some heavier boots I've worn for years on the trails of Arizona, but here in the Midwest, and as Ive aged, I needed something lighter. I think I read the reviews of all the hiking boots here on Zappos, and some on other sites. I decided on the Ahnu Sugarpine. I'm so glad I did! I've just had them for a couple of weeks, and they've done great in snow, mud, on gravel, and I have also worn them to the office with slacks. I did have to give them a couple of days to stretch in all they right places - they weren't perfect right out of the box, but they were after wearing them a couple of times. They were so great I decided to try the lower cut shoe also. In my opinion the shoe is not as good, because my feet move forward in the shoe, so my toes don't have enough room. I think it is just because in the boot, the ankle height holds my foot in place. If you are trying to decide between the boot and the shoe, go with the boot.

After some research and reading of reviews I decided on the Ahnu Sugarpine as my first pair of hikers. I am very happy with my choice! I ordered a half size up per other reviews and the fit is superior. The comfort is intoxicating! The shoe feels like someone is holding my foot in a pleasant, firm yet comfortable grip. I have great foot and ankle support. They're so light! I wore them for the first time on a 2 mile trail hike and they were perfect. Great traction and I felt confident on my footing. No slipping on the wet leaves and light coating of snow. I love them!

Very comfortable. I usually wear an 8.5 and have a narrow foot. Although the 8.5 in this boot fit, I sent them back and ordered a 9 to make room for socks. They are very lightweight and provide excellent arch support. I recommend them.

I bought these boots half a size larger than my regular size. I usually wear an 8½D and bought a 9B (no D width). They fit my foot shape well and do not pinch or poke anywhere. But I can only wear thin socks with them. They are warm boots so this has not been an issue, but I think I would have tried the 9½B if I bought them again. In fact, my two daughters wear the same size, but do not have wide feet, so if one of them takes these over I will try the larger size on the reorder to hopefully fit warmer socks. The soles are great, grip well, they are waterproof and stylish. They are also light! Prior to this we all wore a rugged brand and these are much less heavy.

I absolutely love these! The majority of reviews that I read said these run small so order up. I wear 8½-9 so I just went with a 9. There was plenty of room with thicker socks, so I would say they are true to size. I got the Mulch color which is beautiful. The heel and rivets have are a very light seafoam green color and look very nice against the dark brown. They are so comfortable and well made. They are great on the trails. They provide very good support and traction.
