I so wanted to love these boots -- I loved them online and I finally bought them in brown. While the fit was alright, something felt and looked off with them. Very comfy and bouncy -- didn't keep them long enough to test in the snow but they seem mediocre-to-decent in terms of functioning as durable snow boots. Fit-wise: They are made to hug the entire ankle and calf, and while the calf was very fitted (almost too tight and I have thin calves) there was a gap that felt too big around the ankle -- when I walked it made a popping sound from the stiff fabric shifting back and forth. Looks-wise: overall, the boot just seemed not as classy in person... the contrast in colors (the browns) doesn't seem very apparent-- they seem more like one solid brown -- and the fur seems a little chinsy. I wrestled with whether or not to return them, but in the end, $200 is far too much for these. If they'd been say, less, I probably would have kept them. I went ahead and ordered Sorel Glacy Lace boots -- Amazon has them in three colors including a brown that is similar to this boot.

These boots are darling! However, the insulation would likely not be sufficient for most of our Alaska winters. Also, the tongue gusset is only an inch above the ankle. It doesn't matter how waterproof a boot claims to be if the tongue isn't attached the sides. I know that snow will just get caught around the tongue, melt, and drip into the boot. Too bad, because these boots are super cute and relatively warm.

Skinny calved ladies, REJOICE. I am a size 10 with slimmer calves that do not fit into most boots, but since these are adjustable, I just cinch them as tight as I need. They weren't comfortable at first (some ankle awkwardness), but I thankfully wore into them quick and they don't bother me one bit now. I live in a place that gets 100 inches of snow annually, so boots like this are a must! The waterproofing works great and they keep my feet dry and toasty warm. The fur at the top is a cute touch, and I've had several complements on them. You'll get both style and function with these. I mostly needed them for their function, but I find myself wearing them daily, even when I'm not going to be tromping through the snow.

I have tried about 6 different winter boots so far this year. I have larger calves and wide feet. I ordered a size larger than I normally get to accommodate these issues and these boots are amazing! I loved these boots! I went on vacation from Los Angeles to New York over New Years. Walked a million miles and my feet were very happy. Even though Los Angeles is pretty warm I wear them on any cold days. The fit is true to size. They are expensive but awesome!

Pleasantly surprised with how much I like these boots after reading some of the other reviews. Calf size fits well, has an easy on/off zipper on the side but an attractive lace-front so it still has fashion appeal. The ankle size isn't bad at all and I have little ankles and they are soft enough to wear without socks for those quick trips outside with the dogs. I really like the size/shape of the foot part of the boot. Wearing a size 10 boots can give the appearance of a Goliath but these are reasonably sized and look nice. I have the Sorel Joan of Arctic and they are much bigger in appearance and haven't noticed any difference in comfort and warmth level between the two. I bought the Merrils in the white combo and like them very much. I'm considering getting the same boot in another color.

Bought these boots and they are even better than I expected. I take am 8 1/2 and have a 16inch circumference. I ordered them in 9 because I wanted to make sure I had enough room for thick socks. They are a bit bigger than I needed so, I ordered in 8 to see if there is a big difference, still waiting on those. Whatever the case, I will be keeping a pair. I love them The style is fantastic, just what I was looking for. The leather is great! I'm very flat footed and they feel awesome. Standard support. I'm just so happy I found these. Order true to size as they leave a little room to accommodate a thicker sock.

Warm and comfortable - designed to be adjusted to fit the calf area perfectly. The tie front and zip sides keep moisture and snow out. The ankle area is roomy and benefits from thick cuffs while the new leather breaks-in, because the bending at the ankle will contact your ankle bone. As it softens, this shouldn't be an issue. The sole sticks to ice for safe walking. The foot is flexible and sturdy. Attractive.

I just received these in the mail. Put them on and so warm and comfortable. I love that they have a zipper will make getting them on and off much easier when their wet. I am normally a size 7.5, but saw others advised to go size bigger. So I got an 8 and fit perfect. Can't wait for our next snow so I can really try these babies out.

So comfortable! I am a standard 7 and these fit perfectly even with fairly thick socks. They also loosen just a bit with wear, so I wouldn't worry about them being too snug. And they are so cute! I've gotten lots of compliments on them. And they are very warm! One of the best features after the cute style is the side zipper. I was concerned I'd have to do and undo the laces all the time, but Merrell thought of everything!

Wonderful boots -- worth the money for sure. They keep my feet TOASTY warm and DRY in the slush. I can traipse thru anything and nothing breaks their barrier. Plus, they look funky-fresh. Expensive but well worth it.

These are my favorite pair of winter boots that I've ever owned! They are stylish, have great arch support (can walk all day in them) and keep my feet nice and warm (but not hot like Uggs do). I live in Chicago so it's very important that I have a good, quality pair of boots. These did not disappoint! I can wear them with regular socks and they fit my thin calves perfectly. If you have thicker calves, they might not fit so well.

I love these boots. They are very comfortable and stylish. I have a hard time finding boots that fit but these are nice because the heel does not slide and you can tighten the laces for additional support around the ankle. They are well worth the price!

Got this as a gift for my sister. Great looking boots in person, nice quality. She always wears a size 9 and we ordered a 9 and she said they feel great no sizing issues at all. She loves the boots.

Love these boots! Perfect for winter. Cute enough I can wear casually to work but tough enough to wear snowshoeing. I always get compliments on them!

I love these boots. They are probably the most comfortable boots that I have ever had. I bought them for function/traction in slippery snow but also wanted them to look cute, which they do. I bought them in the Wild Dove color, and they go with everything. I have skinny legs, and the leg shaft is quite snug, but that is awesome for me.

I am really liking these! I wanted cute, comfortable and functional so I can wear them into work crossing the soggy city and also wear them to play in the snow with my son. I think these will be perfect. Most of my boots are heels or wedges and a little more upscale, but I think I will not feel sloppy in these. They also do not look giant in a size 10, and I think they will go with brown and black. They are very nice! Also, a zipper is super convenient.

While it's still summer in LI/NY, I can't vouch for how they do in the snow and extreme cold temps but the fit and comfort level is perfection! I don't have large calves or ankles and most boots are huge in that area which makes someone like me (5'7" 140 lbs) exhausted just walking around in them like they're fireman's boots. These fit. The added bonus is the zipper. You get the laces right and you have a perfect fit every time!

I love these boots!I wear them with wool socks, had to adjust the lacing several times before I got them just right around my ankles(I have small ankles and about average calves). Tough to pull on the first few times, but with wear got easier. They perform great in the snow - the tongue is gusseted to just above the ankle, but the tongue is wide and snug to the top. If you are walking in deep snow for any amount of time, invest in good pair of gators no matter what boot you are wearing.

Bought these for a Christmas present to myself. Last year LI got crazy snow and I wasn't prepared so this year I splurged on a pair of really nice snow boots. We finally got about 2in of snow turned rain so I felt kinda justified wearing my new snow boots. They are wonderfully comfy and cute! They are really great for small calves and have a nice slim ankle too. My calves are 13in at widest so boot circumference is always an issue for me. These boots have laces to tighten as you wish and a zipper so you don't have to fuss with the laces every time! Only downfall was that my feet got a bit sweaty while walking around the mall though. Hah. Can't wait to try these babies out in a real snow storm! I'm sure will be warm and durable for many winters!

My sister and I bought these boots for our Colorado trip this Christmas. We love them. Our feet stayed warm and dry the whole time...even in our 2 1/2 hour snow shoe excursion we went on. Never even had to break them in they went straight from the box to my foot. Love them!

I got these today, just in time for a snow storm. I ordered a size 8 (my normal size) even though some reviewers had recommended sizing up. Because of a mis-marked box, I received a size 7.5. I didn't notice this right away, but they seemed a bit tight in the ankle as I was trying them on. I loosened the laces and once they were on my foot they fit just right over medium weight wool socks. They seem warm and are nice looking. I have thin calves and these fit nicely. I love that the lacing can be adjusted to fit over pants or more tightly over leggings or tights.
