This one is my second and I loved my old one and wanted to have another for my older bones at yoga.
Unfortunately it's not the same and the surface is too slippery for the jumps etc. I looked online and they suggested I try to abrade the surface with salt. Still it's slippery and I prefer my old worn one.

I really wanted to love this mat, but it didn't work out for me. I scrubbed it with salt as they suggested and after daily use for a month I slipped to the point of falling three times during my practice. Yesterday I fell and it wasn't even a heated classroom, and nor was I sweating much. I did purchase the manduka yoga towel for my hot vinyasa classes and that didn't work out too well. The towel bunches quite a bit requiring my adjusting it a minimum of two or three times during my practice.
Compared to my other mats the Manduka has about the same cushioning and the mat is very stable with respect to staying in place on the floor. I just wish I had stayed stable.

Just as many others have said, this mat is so slippery that it is unsafe and therefor unusable. We tried ALL of the suggestions (salt scrubs, shampoo), which were already ridiculous to suggest after spending over $100 on a mat, but we tried anyway. None of them worked and all of them were difficult and frustrating. However, their Eko Lite mat is great, except too thin for some. I don't understand why they don't put the Eko Lite surface on the Pro, or just STOP making the Pro with such a slippery surface. Save your money and get a different mat.

Purchased six weeks ago and have used in classes and treated according to instructions but still like yoga on ice! Have tried toweling swear but it's not getting better (so far!) - perhaps my yoga isn't up to the mat!

Migraneurs beware! This yoga mat has such a strong chemical smell, it triggered migraines every time I was even in the same room with it. I even tried leaving it down in the basement to "gas off" or air out, but after a couple of weeks, it was still so strong that not only did it still smell horrible, but the smell permeated the entire 2-car garage, and with my car's windows being left down, it made the interior of my car smell also. So now I have to get the upholstery cleaned. Thanks, Manduka. Thanks for the headaches and the cleaning I have to have done now. You'd think with a yoga mat at this price and with this brand name, they'd have one that didn't stink to high heaven. Time to shop for another brand.
