These run super small, I usually wear a 9, ordered a 9½, could barely get the boot on - it is very way tight in the arch. I am going to try a 10 and hope. They are beautiful.

Cute boot but not warm. Has similar feel of a Hunter rain boot. The shale is a nice color combination. We go to Park City, Utah and I get cold easily and my feet get numb in even above zero temps so this boot will never do. I also have smaller calfs and I had to pull them to the tightest setting at the top of the boot so it looked odd from the side like it was bulging out. It looked cute straight on.

I live in a mountain town that starting mid November through April has a constant issue of snow and ice every step I take. These boots like another Sorel boot I have are horrible in anything slightly slick but great for deep snow. They are comfortable, cute, waterproof, and warm but unfortunately I have wiped out multiple times on slick spots in both pairs. Sorel, can you please make cute boots with a rugged sole? It is a bit of an ongoing joke of the girls here in Crested Butte.

I was looking for a pair of winter boots that would be both warm and fashionable, and decided to try these. These boots are gorgeous, but unfortunately I couldn't even get them on due to my large athletic calves. So disappointing. If your calves are larger than 16", I wouldn't even bother. Sorel, please make a wide calf version of these! :(

So wanted to love these, but just couldn't. The way the boot is constructed, my foot slides forward and my toes jam, even though it's technically big enough. The next size up just fits too sloppily, like a big rubber boot. Plus, I read the durability isn't good. Drat.

BUY FROM ZAPPOS I bought these boots from Zappos in brown last season from Zappos and LOVED them. I decided to buy another pair in shale at the brand website because it was $5 cheaper--mistake!! They sent me a pair of damaged boots with a shopping mall for a return address. My assumption is that the pair I received had been tried on and abused by multiple shoppers before they were shipped to me. I realize the company had to rely on the mall employee to judge whether is was a pair suitable for sale, so I tried to contact them twice to complain about the boots and have them send a new pair (before they sold out in my size while waiting for the one I had in hand to ship back to them). They did not get back to me. I then wrote a bad review about customer service (which they never posted) and still no contact from the company. I waited until 2 weeks before the last day I'd be able to return them, and I mailed them back. I then left the country for 2 weeks and when I came back I didn't find my credit card with a credit from the company but instead a store credit. I didn't fight it, though I probably should have. Not a happy girl, so many missed opportunities to provide a minimal level of customer service were skipped. Love the boot but buy from Zappos. I've never had anything but positive experiences here and I've noticed other people write similar things in their reviews.

I fell in love with these boots on-line etc, so I ordered the shale. For some reason they looked better in ads than in-person, but then it dawned on me: the shales has the darker section/two-toned leather portion at the front of the ankle. The other colors are more monotone. I'm returning for nutmeg maybe.

I normally wear 8 - 8 1/2. I have three pairs of Sorels and all are 8. For this boot, I needed a 9 1/2. I have never worn a 9 1/2 in any shoe. The problem was then that it fit in the foot but the calves were huge. Sadly I had to send them back. Zappos as usual was awesome to deal with!

I like these boots a lot, and was excited to have them. They worked well for the first year, but the seam around the toe started to leak about a week after my one-year warranty was over. I've tried to repair them, but the cracked seam just keeps getting bigger.

Here's the thing about these boots: they are not winter boots. They are super amazingly cute. They are decently comfortable to walk in. They are waterproof. But they are not warm. I don't know why other people are saying they are warm. They are not. I live in Massachusetts and am trying these for their first New England winter and am realizing they are not up to the task. Firstly, they have a heel. They are a great riding boot. But who wants a heel in snow? Second, they have little to no insulation and are cold. If I stand outside for 15 minutes with my kids in the snow, my feet are freezing, and that's with Darn Tough wool socks on. And to be fair, nowhere does it say that these are winter boots. They are rain boots. Riding boots. Muck around in the mud, wet, leaves, etc. boots. Look stylish in the city boots. Not snow boots. Don't buy them for that. You'll be hanging around with cold feet wishing you'd spent your money a little differently, like I am. But I do love them for not snow, and I get compliments on them constantly. So I can't say I'm unhappy. But I want to let others know this!

I ordered 8.5 because that's what I could get. I would have liked an 8. They aren't kidding with the slim description. I cannot wear these with anything but leggings and even then I feel like they are really tight on my calves. The fattest part of my calf is only 14" around. I also felt like the shaft was a little too tall. And I'm not keen on the slouchy look of the shaft of the boot. Too bad because they are beautiful, just not on me.

First of all, the style of these boots is unparalleled. They were hands down my all time favorite boot. They hurt so much at first, though. The were a little tight, and folded in weird areas causing a lot of pain in the ankle area. It took a while to break them in, but when I did, they were so comfortable. At this point they started falling apart. The buckles in the back broke off, then the soles wore all the way off, revealing white plastic, the seams began to rip, and the final straw, holes in the rubber uppers. The rubber just cracked right open. Now, this is only after about 3/4 of a season's wear. Plus, they are Sorels and expensive! So, the boots were a big disappointment, but Zappos has proven to be anything but. They refunded my credit card immediately and sent a prepaid shipping label for me to send the boots back. This was a one time courtesy, as I had missed the one year deadline by a few days. I am incredibly grateful and thrilled with the level of customer service and response time provided by Zappos. It broke my heart to see the boots go, but the quality just left a lot to be desired. Now if Sorel could make the same style boots but with high quality materials and craftsmanship I would buy one in every color!

These boots are not for winter in Chicago! I wrongly thought that since they were Sorels they would be lined with something to keep them super warm. Nope. My toes are freezing. Reverting to my super lightweight North Face boots, which I can wear with thin socks all winter long, in -20° and snow. These are cute, though, so I will keep them for apple picking/pumpkin farm/outdoor activity for which I do not want to wreck leather boots. I'm sure they'd be warm enough for winter in warmer climates, but for real terrible cold winter, these are not your boots!

This is an aesthetically beautiful boot. Functional and well made...if you can get it on. I recommend at least 1/2 size up. I don't have a particularly high instep and I have very narrow calves, and I couldn't get the boot past my ankles. I suppose I could have them stretched, but I figure, it's just not meant to be if I have to work that hard.

I've had these boots for about 2 months and have loved them. They are so sporty, stylish and unique. I'm no equestrian, but they've been perfect for wearing around town, walking the dog, picking up the kids in the muddy schoolyard, etc. They have reasonable arch support and are very comfortable once broken in. I have the gray and they look great with everything! Plus, with the relatively narrow shaft with the adjustable buckle, they fit my skinny calves and actually make my larger size 9 feet look smaller. I knew from other reviews that these boots weren't going to be particularly warm. That's okay because I wanted them for cool/rainy weather, instead the Hunter wellies that are too trendy for my liking. (For full-on winter, I still love my Joan of Arctics.) But ladies, sorry to say these boots are not waterproof! I discovered this today when wearing them in very heavy rain. Mind you I was just standing & walking from the car to school and back, not submerging them in water. But I could feel moisture seeping through the stitching along the instep where the leather meets the rubber. This, despite giving a good siliconing when I first got them, based on a few other reviews that mentioned they were leaky. I was super bummed! I'm disappointed enough to send them back - if they weren't so cute & stylish. They weren't exactly cheap for boots that are neither waterproof nor warm. And by the way, they are super tight over the instep, which means they take a good 2 minutes of tugging & pulling to get them on & off. All things considered, I'm giving these boots only 3 stars. I'm willing to suffer a bit for fashion as long as my feet stay dry. Maybe one more round of silicone waterproofing will do the trick - let's hope!

I was hopeful this boot would be a good mix of form and function, but unfortunately I have to say in person I did not like the rubber/leather mix. Also, while I have average size calves, I could not get the boot to comfortably fit even with the thinnest socks. The boot ended up looking slouchy because it would not fit properly around my calf.

Loved the looks of this boot! I ordered a 9 and it was pretty close to what I needed and returned for a 9.5. Well, I could not get my right foot into the boot. The left foot was perfect. QC at the manufacturer must be lacking.

Beautiful - but I was a little confused about the heel height considering it is a winter/snow boot. Not sure it would be warm enough in anything more than a dusting of snow. Returning.

The first few days were great. Then the leather started to slouch and push onto my ankle and after a while there was pain and bruising and it was unbearable. I had to return them and that fact makes me sad because it is a beautiful boot. It looks gorgeous. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me...

This beautiful boot has an odd sizing. Normally my daughter is a size 9, so we ordered a half size up but it was still too short. She tried on a size 10 too, but it was still short in toes, just wider in width. It is unfortunate because the Slimpack offered the attractiveness of a stylish boot with great waterproof qualities.

Leather on left shoe is horribly wrinkled on the front. Looks terrible and will not keep in a full priced boot. Disappointed in quality as second pair I have ordered that was defective in some way.

My daughter bought a pair of these boots last year so I was totally prepared to love them. So disappointed when I put them on. First, the lining material on the inside was defective (looked like it hadn't been properly attached at the seams.) Second, the inside of the boot has a very uncomfortable ridge (maybe where the boot meets the leather?) Couldn't imagine wearing these for any length of time without getting serious blisters. In general, these boots left me with the impression that Sorel is seriously cutting on quality while charging a premium price. I bought a great pair of Bogs instead for half the price.

I ordered these boots because they are so cute and I figured they would be great for riding and for wearing around town. However they are such a pain to put on/ take off that I will be returning them. When they make an updated version with a zipper I will absolutely be trying them out.

Just received the boots. Super cute and stylish but they are two different size boots! Will be returning this pair. One boot was over a half inch taller than the other. Wish Zappos had some quality control over these boots rather than sending me a mismatch pair.

The quality of Sorel has certainly gone downhill. A size 9 that fit perfect a few years ago, does not even come close today. The workmanship is not up to standards. A shame as these were really cute boots and the second pair I have returned.
