I just received these boots today, they are great. I read all of the previous reviews, and still purchased my regular size 8. They fit comfortably with an athletic sock. Love them!

Love these boots, so cut and not overly bulky. I had to order a full size up in order for there to be room for thick socks. This is not typical of Sorel sizing as I have other boots that are true to size. Thanks Zappos for making returns so stinkin' easy!

Love Zappos and love the boot. I am a 7.5, I ordered an 8 because reviews said they run small. I ended up returning and getting my true 7.5 size and they fit well with socks and all. Beautiful boot. Always great Zappos service.

Love these boots! I saw them in a catalog and when I read on Zappos that they sold out I ordered a pair right away. I read the other reviews that they ran small, so I ordered a half size larger than I normally would. When they arrived they were still too small, so I ordered a full size larger and it was perfect. This boot is beautiful and comfortable. Now I am just praying for cold weather and snow!

I tried desperately to get these last year and they sold out everywhere. The minute I discovered Sorel had issued them again in new colors I ordered a pair. They are amazing and I like this year's colors even better than the previous ones, so it was a win win! I'm a 7.5 and ordered an 8. They are perfect with no extra room. These look fantastic in person and I can't wait to wear them!

I could not agree with the previous reviewer - the sizing of these boots is super tricky. They run small. I usually wear an 8, on the slim occasion an 8.5. Both of these sizes in this boot were too small - my toes were hitting the front of the boot (enough room is the heel). I have ordered a 9 and will see how it goes. As for the design and look of the boot, it is amazing! Beautiful, stylish and very well constructed. Thank you Zappos for the easy and fast delivery and returns - you make shoe and boot shopping easy, especially when you are trying to find the perfect fit!

The sizing of these boots is a bit tricky. I can wear 7, 7.5 or 8, depending upon the brand and style. In my experience, Sorels can be big (bulky) so I ordered my true size (7.5). I first ordered 1 pair of black in 7.5 and they were too small; my toes were touching. So I sent them back and ordered an 8 in both black and shale. The black in 8 was still too small, but the shale was just about right; slightly roomy, but with thick socks they'll be perfect. I like the look of the shale better, so I'm keeping them and sending back the black. However, if I planned to keep the black, I would have had to order up to 8.5 which would be very unusual for me. So if you think you like these, order up in the black for sure (way up). And order 1/2 size up in the shale. Who knows about the cinnamon!

I looked for the perfect waterproof boot for a year and finally settled on these. I live on the water, camp all the time, and hunt waterfowl so I needed something that wouldn't take in water. The description of these says 'waterproof' but they are NOT. They unfortunately leak water in pretty drastically around the seam where the leather and rubber meet. I contemplated sending them back but really do love the look and feel of them. The leather is super soft with a great lining and the rubber has a great grip and support. They would be perfect for riding horses/farming but aren't great for the water.

These are definitely nice winter boots, but they're quite hard to get on. They're also REALLY warm, which is good, but my legs got overheated pretty quickly. I won't wear them unless the sidewalks are really slippery, but they're good for those conditions.

These boots are tres cool. They do run a little small so I would order a half size up. they are also not as insulated as other Sorel's so not great for big snow, as they do get cold since there is no real insulation. But are a great alternative to Uggs on a snowy day!

Love these boots. Get many compliments. They are a bit hard to get on but if you have small calves it helps. My only complaint is only 3 months after purchasing them the stitching on one side has come undone. For the money I paid for these I had hoped for better quality!

Really love these boots. Very comfortable, almost like slippers though can take a few times to loosen them up when sliding on. I went up a half size and fit perfectly. Wear mostly over jeans and leggings, lots of compliments. Only issue is not sure how warm they will be in very cold temps. I wear BOGS which go down to -20. These feel like they may be good to freezing but not super cold weather.

These boots simply say "quality" which is what one comes to expect from the name Sorel. They have a slim, no nonsense profile, looking functional while at the same time making a" looking good" statement. I loved them immediately and with only a little tug, my foot slipped into them easily. I normally wear a size 8 but am happy that I had ordered them in a half size larger as they would have been a tad short in the foot. I planned to use them primarily for horseback riding and think they would have been great. After walking around the house in them for a few hours, I found that the foot bed began to feel "bumpy"as though I could feel whatever unevenness I walked over. and since I ride trail and have to get off and walk or run with my horse sometimes, I don't want this to be an issue.

Love, love, love these boots, however, I have to send them back. I typically wear an 8 1/2 but order size 9 in boots. All the reviews said to size up so I ordered the 9 per usual and they are too small! My toe is at the tip with GORGEOUS though - the pictures do not do them justice. Even my picky husband likes them.

Not for those with short legs. Love these boots but because I am 4'11", the boots came to the bottom of my knee and slightly over. Too bad.

I love the look of this boot! I wish it was a bit wider in the calf though. I am not overweight but it fits a bit snug however I think I'll still keep them. True to size for me!

These boots are stylish and warm. They run a little big. I will be purchasing a lambswool liner to make them warmer. The sole is more flexible than imagined. Also the boots are slightly higher than I expected: almost up to back of the knees. I am 5'4" and therefore on the short side. They do not offer much arch support. But they are cute and warm and waterproof!

I love the look of this boot. They are a little wide for me mostly in the heel. I have a very narrow foot. I would also recommend getting a half size larger to allow for a heavy sock. The leather is a little stiff, I am sure it will soften up.

I absolutely love how the boots look! 8½ was too small and 9 was too big. Sadly I will have to return both pairs.

Love the style and the height hits me perfectly (just below the knee - I'm 5'7" and bought a 7.5). The calf (my calves are muscular, 14.5") felt too tight to wear with jeans and long underwear, therefore they are going back. If they made a wide calf version they would be perfect!

I read many other reviews before ordering these boots. Most said they ran small so I ordered 1/2 size up and they're too big! They're very nice boots and now I have the hassle of exchanging them for the size I normally wear! They are quite attractive and will be practical, not totally sure they are worth the price.

Color me not impressed. I wanted to try these as I really liked the Joan of Artic wedge, but sadly have discovered most heeled shoes hurt my feet so I returned those determined to find a pair of Sorels I could wear. I ordered two sizes with the confusion over what size to order (I found the 7.5 my normal size to be too small and the 8 to be a little big, but fine with a moderately thin sock.) But the quality of these boots has me concerned about their durability and for a $200+ boot there shouldn't be questions. My biggest concern was the seam between leather and the rubber toe cover where on one foot I could visibly see the glue from standing and the other I could see several raised areas that made me wonder how water proof they would be and for how long? I'll keep looking as the Joan of the Artics were impeccably made, but these are going back.

I own 3 different kinds of Sorel's and these are by far my favorite in the fall & winter for the cold and snowy days here in Chicago. I have these in brown and grey (shale), love them. If they had more room in the calf I would give it a 5 star rating. I'm a 8.5 and because the calf is tight I had to buy a 9.

I adore these boots and wear them all the time. However, they started falling apart after only one season. As another reviewer commented, the wood grain around the heel peeled off, leaving the boot looking rough. Also with any rubber boot, please be advised you must condition the rubber if you plan on wearing them often. I did not do this and the rubber cracked where my big toe touched inside the boot as well as a couple other spots.

These boots are gorgeous, and comfortable, but I did have to get a half size up even to get them on. They are super easy to clean, and the insulated leg keeps my leg nice and warm. However, the foot is not really insulated, and my feet are constantly cold and clammy when I'm outside. I contacted Sorel, and they said they are only meant for rain, and not for very cold temperatures, which goes against what the description on zappos.com says. The foot is really comfortable and provides great arch support though.
