This vest is perfect in every way! The fit is surprisingly feminine for a "padded" vest; there is minimal bulk and a nice flattering waistline. The fabric pattern (Black Night Dew Print) is absolutely gorgeous and unique. Yes, it is functional as well. It is adequately warm for cool weather (40F) and is easy to maneuver in while hiking, biking, doing activities of daily living (read that as shopping) since padding is not excessive. Order your usual size for a streamlined fit. If you wear bulky under-layers, I recommend you order a size up.

I love the vest. I love the weight I only wish it came in 10 colors. Maybe metallic gold and silver for night just the best vest ever. Could line with cashmere. Thanks

I have this vest in most of the colors and I love it. It's very comfortable and light, but, it is nice and warm. However, it is definitely NOT lavender. It is light blue with a purpleish tinge to it but, DEFIINITELY NOT lavender by any sense of the word.

I am an upside-down triangle -- i.e., broad shoulders and narrow hips -- so I didn't have a problem with fit at the hips. This vest is so light that I forget I have it on. I wear it with everything, indoors and out. I am 5'2" so it falls somewhere between my mid- and lower hips. If you want something shorter, or if this vest doesn't fit your hips, Marmot makes a similar but shorter vest. One of my daughters has one and loves hers. Personally, I prefer the longer TNF vest.

Great spring vest. Bold pink/yellow color. Fun.

I was pricing designer vests very similar looking to this and I am so happy that I chose this vest over the others. It is so lightweight, like a parachute, but there is no bulk. There will not be down bunching up with wear. I will not look like the Michelin man either. It is so chic! The pockets are well placed. They are nice and deep to keep your hands warm up to your wrists.

This vest kept me really warm in <40 degree rainy weather at an all day tailgate and college football game. It's very thin and sleek; adds no bulk at all. I found it true to size.

This vest fit true to size. It is lightweight and packable, perfect for traveling.

I have a thermoball jacket and wanted something to layer under, and this vest is perfect for that or to wear alone. If you are a curvy girl, it will be "spacious" around the middle, not so flattering but I don't really care about that. I am 5'5", 140 lbs wearing medium.

I purchased this vest because of the color that it was (unique) and have received a few compliments since wearing it. The color is a bit different in person than the images on the page, yet it's still a great color. I was surprised by the fitting, I ordered a large and it fits comfortably. I can wear a light sweater underneath it and still have some room. I would order this vest again.

Didn't love the coastal & chambray blue color combo, but a nice looking, warm vest.

I'm chronically cold but don't like wearing bulky layers, so these vests are a staple in my wardrobe... I wear daily around the house & for errands, I wear a NF triclimate over for skiing & wintersports.

Looks very stylish and is true to the North Face name. I would definitely buy again.

I like this vest and have two of them. I want more for style, but the colors are difficult.

I love this vest - both in terms of style and design. It's light weight, but warm, and the design (Galaxy) is fun and goes with lots of other layers. My only disappointment was in the size. I ordered a small. The waist fit fine, but the chest and arm holes were huge. Sent it back for a XS.

I wear this almost everyday at work over a jersey, my workspace is indoors but on the cool side so I really like having a lightweight extra layer that's easy to throw on over anything. I also wear it as an extra mid layer skiing when temp drops below -10 degrees c. It's been great to add some warmth without too much bulk.The only thing I would change is the outer fabric. I have this in black and I find it quite shiney, I prefer the matt black of say the tonnero down vest, but I am getting used to it

I love the fact this is a cruelty-free alternative to a down vest. It is super light, not as warm as I would have expected, but still great for layering over a sweater/fleece or under a jacket. I got the vest in XS, and it feels a bit loose and boxy on my 5'10"/120 lbs frame. Not as flatering as my other TNF down vests. Also I suspect it does not feel as warm, since it is not tight fitting. All in all I love the idea of Thermoball and really like this vest, maybe not my favorite in warmth, but it really is super light weight and the grey color looks great.

I bought this for my mom. Layering is very important for her lifestyle (traveling, walking, in and out of buildings and homes). This vest is perfect for under her winter coat, alone on a warmer day, or inside the house. She looked EVERYWHERE in stores to find the color she wanted. She could only find black. She loved the fit and the slimming look and was SO excited when I ordered her the plum color on line. This vest fit her better than any other brand she tried. Perfect for my practical mom who also wants to be stylish.

The color on chart appears to be brighter than what it is but kept it anyway.

This will be my go to vest for all outdoor activities. Love that it's not bulky which will allow for movement when playing.

I am not too familiar with the sizing with North Face. I am 5'3" at 125 and ordered a medium because I wanted to wear sweaters underneath. Unfortunately had to return. Way too big. Size small should be a better fit. Beautiful vest though.
