I am 5'7 and weigh 280. The 3x fit perfectly and roomy. I wanted something lightweight when I do fitness walking outside in cold weather, yet warm. I didn't want to feel sweaty. This is perfect.
The only complaint is the hood won't stay up unless I wrap a scarf over it. Otherwise, would have given 5 stars. Not a big deal, but I would expect Columbia to do better with that. I have the Dark seas color and it's beautiful.

Overall this is a great coat! The zipper sticks a little, but that's the only issue.

I have this jacket in a XL purple for the past few years, I love it and it fits great but it was time for a new one. I ordered an XL in black and when I received it was very small, to tight in the bust and waist, and had to be returned. I ordered an 1X and it was so big I have to return it as well. I wish Columbia would stop changing their sizes because I have love this jacket. I guess I will stay with my old jacket and hope Columbia get back to their sizes.

Overall the Women's Mighty Lite Hooded Jacket - Plus Size is a nice coat. It is nice and thin, but with the Omni-Heat inside it would be warm enough for Seattle winters. Biggest drawback for me was the lack of an adjustable hood. I didn't notice that when I ordered the coat and when I tried it on the hood just flopped over my eyes. I also had an issue with the thumb holes in the sleeves. There wasn't enough give, so when I held my arms out in front of me and turned them so my thumbs were pointed up, the seam pulled very tight. The rest of the jacket fit well, with no visible pulling across the chest, so I don't think it was a problem with the overall fit.
In the end this wasn't the coat for me. I ended up with the Women's Carson Pass II Jacket in 2XL and am very happy.

The reviews I've read about the hood and zippered pockets are true, but I don't see it as a bad thing for me. The only thing is that there isn't much room for the 1X to give a little, especially if I decide to wear a sweater, but if I purchased a 2X it would've been too big.

Perfect winter coat for individuals wanting something super warm but not bulky. Great length and style. Seems to run just a bit smaller than I expected.

Was excited to get my coat. The quality is nice, but it was way lighter than I expected. I thought the inside material would heat me with my body temperature but it did not. I was disappointed and cold.
perfect for spring lightweight jacket. For winter weather no....you will freeze. It is what it says. Very light weight . Overall a nice quality jacket. Just wasn't what I was looking for. I wore it in Indianapolis recently and the winds were brutal. It did not shield me it snowed and rained. You need the heavier down jacket this won't work.

Let's be honest.. The best part of this coat are the thumb holes. But the rest of the coat is pretty great, too! For how thin it is, it's surprisingly warm. I've survived the Chicago winter with it!

I love this coat but am deeply disappointed the zipper didn't hold up in such a short period of time. When zipped it opens in the body of the zipper making it very difficult to rezip up or down. I still wear it because I love the lightweight structure and warmth. I wish there was a way to fix it. I've considered purchasing another but the expense is a factor.

Living in Minnesota this jacket works great for warmer days above 25 degrees. It is not wind proof so it won't stand up to a cold windy day.

This jacket keeps me very warm and it is super light weight. The only problem I have is that I have long arms and when I stretch my arms up high it gets a little short on me but normally I'm not doing that so the jacket works well. Overall love it though.

Likes: VERY warm, versatile, hits a couple inches above the knee which is great on cold windy days, a nice shade of black.
Disappointments: I wear a size 16 but ordered the 1X because I have broad shoulders and wanted the extra room. I had tried a co-workers coat on that was this style and size and it fit perfectly but the one I ordered is cut slimmer thru the shoulder AND the sleeves are a couple inches too short. When I put my thumbs thru the extensions it pulls. So it's too short. Fix that and the coat is perfect! I'm keeping it cause I really like it even with the shortened sleeves

I was looking for a longer coat for this colder than normal winter and I found it in this coat. Not bulky which was an added plus. Can't go wrong with this coat.

I love that its knee length to cover your derriere and the look is flattering but its not a warm winter coat. For a person that doesn't drive and depends on public transportation they would definitely need to layer. I wear my columbia fleece under mine. You will be cold wearing this coat below 30 degree weather. I do not recommend this coat because the sole purpose of a winter coat is to keep you warm which this coat doesn't do.

I am a consultant based in SoCal. I have clients that take me to Chicago and other parts of the country that have real winter. I can't deal with heavy coats and too much bulk.
Here is what I love so far:
Length
The cuffs at the sleeve
The lack of bulk
Travelability
I'm headed to Chicago in a week. I wore this coat in Denver over the Holiday. I wasn't sure what to expect but it worked ok for moving from car to building and visa versa. I don't know that I would stand outside in the cold, wind etc... and be ok. I'll see when I head to Chicago in a week!

Great light weight winter coat! It fits true to size (which with Columbia plus sizes means it is a bit small in the arms and chest.) It is a great top layer for a 20F-30F winter day. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because it bells out at the bottom too much. I saw from the specifications that, unlike like other Columbia jackets, there is no way to cinch it closed at the bottom, so I thought that it would be a bit more narrow.

This has been the perfect coat for the 30- to 60 degree winters we get in the desert. I do agree that the arms run short (but I have short arms and usually roll my sleeves up so, this is ok with me). At first, I didn't like the thumb hole but I'm starting to get used to it. If you wear bulky sweaters and such, you may want to size up, the fit is typical to Columbia sizing.

I love my coat..it keeps me warm on cold Minnesota days without all the bulk. The only thing I don't like I had to size up because the size I normally wear fit but I couldn't wear a sweater or a sweatshirt . I do like the coat!
