As a plus size woman, it is difficult to find high quality clothing. I wanted a lightweight winter coat that would allow me to wear long tops without sticking out the bottom of my coat. I didn't want the bulk of a wool coat since I spend a lot of time driving in the car. Found exactly what I was looking for with this jacket. The style is nothing fancy, but it does have nice lines that flatter the plus size woman. (No belt since it never falls in the right place anyway!) I also ordered a size up and glad I did. Nothing worse than a snug fitting outer jacket. Thanks, Columbia, for thinking of the plus-size woman.

I was in a hurry to get this jacket before heading out to freezing Montana. It was out of stock on Zappos so ordered I directly from Columbia Sportswear. I have to say it is a fabulous jacket! It is a longer length than a jacket so serves more as a coat. It is so lightweight it is hard to believe that it can be warm and functional. So much more comfortable than big bulky down coats that make you look like a marshmallow. The outer shell fabric is soft, smooth, luxurious to the touch not stiff like some. It is weatherized so is waterproof for "light" rain and also stain resistant. The zipper worked well, a relief since zipper issues can make wearing a coat a real pain. The inner Omni-Heat lining is smooth with hundreds of tiny silver metallic looking dots. The lining captures and reflects back your own body heat. It is nice that the special lining not only covers the entire body of the jacket and also the sleeves. Wore it around the house for awhile, had to take it off, got HOT! Inner cuffs on the sleeve have thumb holes which anchor the sleeves to your wrist, no cold air allowed in. The hood is not too large and since the overall material is lightweight the hood is not too bulky. Read reviews of the jacket on another website that recommended ordering a size larger. I did order one size up and glad I did, the coat does run a little small. If you want a very comfortable high quality stylish coat that will keep you toasty warm this winter, don't hesitate, this is the one for you!

This is my second Columbia coat with Omni-Heat™ reflective lining. I love it. Both have been light weight and less bulky, but still very warm. I commute by foot and bus in Minneapolis, MN and this style of coat has served to keep me warm in subzero temperatures, but not too bulky on a crowded bus. I love that it is light to carry and fold away when I am indoors at an event or shopping. The fits is fine on my curvy body, not that I expect any winter coat to do me any favors. The downside to this style of coat is that it is too thin for when it rains or is snowing heavily while I wait for the bus, the material gets waterlogged. I choose a different coat or use an umbrella in those cases. This model has a hood that does not detach, I wish that it did, although the hood does fit fine. I love all the pockets and the inset thumbhole cuffs. The side pockets are deep enough to hold my mittens and hat and still be zipped shut. What took so long for thumbhole cuffs to be a thing?

2X size: the coat measures 27 inches across the front- armpit to armpit. And about 26 a bit lower down. Measure a coat or jacket that fits you well and compare. I hope someone will report measurements for the 1X and 3X as well. The zipper is the thinner plastic type. I hope it will hold up to the stress of sitting and getting in and out of a car. I will report back.

I love this coat. I am in between size 16-18 and carry my weight in my stomach/chest. I read the reviews and most suggested going up a size but I was afraid that if I did the shape would look like a sleeping bag on me. I first ordered the 1X and it did fit although as suspected it was a tad snug in the chest although I could zip it comfortably. I ended up exchanging for a 2X so that I could wear a sweater underneath and so happy I did! So, my suggestion is that if you are too heavy size up. Even the bigger size is flattering. LOVE LOVE LOVE this coat and can not wait to wear it once it gets colder out.

This is quite possibly one of the best jackets that I have ever owned! I like that it is light weight and not bulky, but ever so warm. I read the other reviews that suggested to go up a size for wearing sweaters, etc. underneath. I sized up and am glad that I did. Got this jacket to wear for a trip to the coast. It was raining cats and dogs, with 60 mph winds. The jacket itself would be soaked but, because of the Omni-Heat lining I stayed dry and toasty warm. I also love the longer length and the dusty purple color. I highly recommend this jacket, you won't be sorry!

I wanted to have a longer coat for move coverage during the winter as well as something light weight and machine washable that I could wear over thicker sweaters/tops. So far, I love this! I haven’t had a chance yet to test it out in anything lower than the high 30°s, but it’s been wonderful so far. The additional touch of the thumb hole fabric inside the sleeves is perfect. It’s really thin and keeps the cuffs down so cold air doesn’t go up the sleeves. I also like that I have the two zipper option on the coat so I can give myself more mobility for getting in and out of the truck. I’m really happy with this purchase.

This coat is light yet very WARM considering I'm a plus size woman. It doesn't weigh you down! I LOVE it! As a matter of fact both my sister and neice are going to buy one!

I love this coat. It's light as a feather but is very warm and looks nice too. I heeded the advice in other reviews and bought a size up, which fits perfectly. I recommend it highly.

It's light and fits over my buttons and belly :) I'm 5'6" 225lbs. I ordered the 2x so that I could wear sweaters. I probably could fit in the 1x. But then it would cling to me in sweaters and you'd have that look. The abyss is a deep blue black. Just thought I'd try a different color than black.

I am 5'8, and find it hard to buy coats with sleeves that are long enough and loose enough. I usually wear an XL, but the 1X fits beautifully. More fitted, but not tight, I can bend my arms with ease, and sit with ease (two way zipper). I bought black last year and the Quill this year. I love wearing it to hockey games, with leggings and a long sweater! A+.

I bought this coat on a Wednesday online. I ordered it a size bigger because the reviews said it ran small. The coat arrived Thursday afternoon and was too big. I chatted online with a customer service rep that not only did an exchange, but had the new coat on my doorstep by Friday. The entire transaction took two days. The customer service at Zappos is outstanding! My experience was easy and quick.

This jacket is lightweight. I wore it for first time today - it's in the 40s, raining and windy. I was comfortable. However, it runs small, especially in the arms. I have extra large arms so I sometimes have trouble with the sleeves. I went up one size and I'm glad I did. The arms were a bit snug but still comfortable. The body was roomy. Glad I got it. Hope it holds up to temps below 40.

This coat is amazing!!! I have now owned 2 over the last 10 years and they are absolutely perfect for warmth, comfort, style and function! They are thin but keep you so warm. I love this coat and will ONLY wear this coat for the rest of my natural life

I love to wear this jacket due to many reasons: 1. Long Length 2. Light Weight 3. Inbuilt gloves 4. Perfect warmth Though, I wish the hood had piping around the edges so it would hold better. Currently, I have to wear a cap along with this jacket as the hood doesn't stay at all on my head.

It runs true to size, it's nice and light weight but still very warm! Easy to wipe off when needed!

I have bought the jacket for my wife and the size is fit for her. She has loved it. It was red color and my wife wants the other color which is midnight blue. She is very happy to have it and says it is very lightweight but keeps warm her. She thanks a lot Columbia.

I searched and searched...everything from Michael Kors to Calvin Klein to Eddie Bauer...COLUMBIA hands down fit the best was the most comfortable, looked the best AND was the most functional!!! I am now completely outfitted for the world ice carving championships in Fairbanks! THANK YOU COLUMBIA! P.S. Everything else I ordered from all the others was returned...except Columbia!
