I absolutely love everything about this coat but Marmot needs to make tall sizes. I'm 5'7" and 130 lbs. The medium it too big but the small is too tight across the shoulders and the sleeves are too short. Such a bummer because this is otherwise the perfect coat for very cold days.

FIT: I am 5'7" at 115 lbs, a little tall and narrow but with a full bust at 32DD. The medium was an almost perfect fit with the sleeves being 1/2" too short PERFORMANCE: I'm always cold and surviving the early and windy Chicago winter (10 to 45 F) was made possible in this jacket. The hood is a little narrow so if you have a medium/large Afro, it won't comfortably but it'll keep your ears warm. The deep pockets are appreciated and practical as well. The *only* thing I wish could be improved is the amount insulation around the pockets for your hands. You will need gloves if you want to keep your hands as warm as possible.

I love this coat! Great quality and extremely warm without it looking bulky. The only thing I would change is the two way zipper. It's not terrible but two way zippers tend to malfunction often.

Liked the coat and likely would have kept it if I didn't find the Obermeyer one I ordered nicer and better- more expensive but worth the difference to me. I didn't like that this had no way to close it (like snaps) without zipping up the whole legnth of the coat.

The coat was certainly warm and the fit was true to size but I am returning it because after removing the fur trim (they tend to annoy me and get in my face), the hood just was too small to fully cover my (normal sized) head; it also looked strangely disproportionate as the hood was so small relative to the bulky coat.

I liked this coat immediately after trying it on. It is attractive, trim and stylish, and it is also comfortable. BUT, when I put the hood on, that was the bummer. The hood came over my head and halfway down over my face. Since I wanted a coat that had a useable hood, this had to go back. (If the hood had worked, I also would have ordered the next size up so there would be room for a heavy sweater.)

Size is perfect- I am petite and this coat him me in the perfect spots. Nice, soft, comfy warm coat

I’m usually an xsmall but needed a sm in this parka. I love the fit and the navy color. I subtracted one star because the coat is not quite as warm as it promised to be.

Liked the overall quality and the color claret - pretty deep red color/not shiny. My usual size medium (for reference 5'7 - 130 lbs) was much too tight under arms and chest, too large in the waist and butt. Never had that problem before - my chest is small (36B). Hood, sleeve, and overall length perfect. Seemed like it would be warm, but the down was smashed since it was shipped in a tiny bag rather than a box so it was hard to tell.

So close to being the perfect jacket. The only major downfall is that it’s a little heavy and the sleeves are way too short. Otherwise pretty darn awesome. I also wish it had an elastic cord at the waste to be able to adjust the fit a little bit. Warm for a 20 degree day. Didn’t keep it long enough to try it in freezing cold weather.

Here's what I like about this coat - interior pockets, zippered exterior pockets, the stand up neck area when fully zippered fits me well and efficiently blocks wind, the hood doesn't obscure my vision when on, the partial fleece lining. Here's what I don't like about this coat - the zipper is not constructed so that it lays flat when wearing. The zipper "ripples" and I wouldn't mind it so much but when it deeply cuts in right above the last two quilted areas on the bottom it gives a peplum appearance. The back is fine but obviously the front is really annoying to me. Any other zippered coat I've had creates one smooth line. For this reason, I considered returning it. This coat does have a slimmer cut and layering underneath makes me feel a bit like the Michelin man. I expected the coat to be a bit warmer as it has a 700-fill power. My $99.00 650-fill power coat is warmer, but it has seen better days which is why I was looking for a replacement. That's my two cents, for what it's worth!

GORGEOUS coat -- sleek fit and wonderfully warm. But the cut was too tight across the chest for me. (Usually a size 10 or 12 in coats -- ordered the large.)

Loved everything about this coat except that it has no snaps in the front. You have to either zip it all the way up, or it is open. I like the convenience of having snaps.

Really nice coat! Runs small for a curvy girl! It fits snug so I can't layer under it. I brought it to match the boots.

This coat has a grayish tint with a gray/green plush lining, not as white as shown. The lining is very nice. I'm not a fan of fur, so that's off. Hood is generously sized and I have a big head. Length is perfect for a parka. I ordered a large (5'8", 150, 34DD bust), but it was tighter through the chest than I like. My daughter REALLY liked it and it fit her better (5'8", 135, 32DD). So ordered an XL and will probably keep it. Very full coat and I feel I look a little like a marshmallow, but it is very warm and will work well with cold Midwest temps and snow. Can get a medium weight sweater under without being too tight.

Everything about this coat was great! The color, the length, the warmth. One thing did not work for me -- too tight across the chest. This is the second Marmot coat I've ordered, and it seems to be the brand. I'm not a big person -- 5'4" - 127lbs. - but I have a 36D chest -- and this coat, and the Val deSere were too tight across the chest in a size Medium. I'm sure the Large would have been too big everywhere else, so I'm just giving up on Marmot. I had luck with an LLBean Petite Small -- go figure! The coat was excellent though -- so if you're average sized up top -- go for it.

Marmot designs for active outdoorspeople. As a result their sizes do not conform to the increasing sedentary and pudgy bodies of many Americans, including mine. This coat in 2X is too small for a 46 inch bust and a medium sweater. Great fabric and construction quality. Terrific puffy warm goose down. Just pay close attention to their sizing and don't assume that the size you wear from other companies will necessarily work with Marmot.

Love this coat! Warm, soft, cozy, great pockets inside and out. I'm 5'7" and usually order a M/L. I bought the L, it will allow for sweaters and layering. Great jacket! Only thing I would change is to reduce a bit of bulk around the hips...but that's my own issue. :)

Feels lovely on. Liked the gentle inner cuff at the wrist. Huge hood - could cuff back. Neck felt really nice - not pokey. However, the zipper is totally undersized for the coat and since I've had zipper pulls and zippers break under the daily wear, that alone is enough to send it back. Too much fabric up top, not enough in the middle for me. Length was perfect. I'm going to look for a more formal coat to use back and forth to work.

This is a very functional, good looking down jacket. Based on other reviews from a different store, I ordered a size up. I am normally a size medium in most North Face and most every other kind of jacket. I ordered a size large. It is going back for a medium. I am 5'6", a size 6 to 8 depending on the store, athletic build. The large was a bit too big. I could fit two hoodies under if needed, so if you plan to layer a lot, size up. Otherwise, I think the medium would have been much better. It appears to have a more flattering, fitted silhouette that is a little lost due to the size. I do live in Southern California so my cold is not what may be cold to others. It feels super cozy and warm to me, and based on other reviews that I have read, it is meant to withstand some true winter weather.

Did not fit. Runs small. I am a size Small but a Small did not fit.

Got this as a gift and It does not fit the recipient. Medium fits very small. I thought I was sizing up when I got the medium. Tight especially in the shoulders. But very warm. I got myself the same coat last year and same issuewas too small. I got the same coat last year and have an issue with the feathers coming out, but the time to return had passed. This one does not seem to have that problem. However, I will have to return and get a bigger size.

I was thrilled when this coat arrived! It fit perfectly (sized one whole size up), was very warm, and had thoughtful design details like the fleece lined pockets and chin. However, after wearing this coat ONCE outdoors, the material started to fray on the shoulder and it stained from accidentally brushing against my lips while I was wearing chapstick. Not sure how well this coat will hold up given the thin fabric and ease of staining, but I got it on sale so I will be keeping it.
