Very pleased so far. The lined pockets and lining that rubs against your face are nice touches. It feels thick and so far no feathers. Hasn't been cold enough to know how warm it truly is but definitely warmer than my gap parka.

Overall this is a really warm coat, and great for people who walk around in under 30 degree weather. Unfortunately the hood is way too small and really really thin. Totally inadequate, and pretty surprised it wasn't mentioned in the other reviews. The fleece cuffs and upper lining are really soft and lovely, and I wish I could keep it!

Ordered this in both medium and large - the medium was too snug (5'6, 155lbs, with strong shoulders), and the L was too roomy, and the hood was flopping over my eyes. I don't know why Marmot thinks size large people have larger-sized heads. Other than that, though, very warm, nicely cut, just not fitting my shape. Both are going back.

This is a beautiful coat! It is a well made, stunning color (blue), zips easily. I have not had a chance to wear it outside yet, but I expect that it will be wonderfully warm. I ordered a size up to be able to wear a winter weight sweater under the coat. Still four stars, because the coat is a little longer than I am used to, and the hood is a little floppier than I would expected, hangs down over my forehead -though I may appreciate both of these things when I do wear it out in the cold and the snow!

I'm 5'1, 125 lb, and I wanted to love this coat so much; regrettably, it didn't fit me the way I wanted; it made me look like and I felt like a sack of potatoes. This is the third coat I'm trying. I'm ordering the Toronto Jacket this time - will see if it's a keeper.

I bought this jacket, the North Face Metropolis and the Patagonia to compare. This one was by far the most cozy. I live in Wisconsin and given the cold streak that we have had this past week, this style almost won. It would definitely keep me cozy for a shoveling session or frolicking in the snow with my kids and pup. The chest is lined with fleece, feels a little heavier than the others and the fabric is really nice. Plus the sleeves have an inner cuff that will keep the draft and snow out. It is almost perfect. However, I look like the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man in this coat. Granted, it is a big, puffy coat, but it was less flattering than the other two. The features of this coat have still kept it in contention. If you do not care how this makes you look as long as you are warm - this is the best of the three.

After owning the coat for a month and a half the zipper is broken. The zipper is weak for a winter coat; it needs a more heavy duty zipper that isn't flimsy and separates when it shouldn't. It started off being difficult to get the two zipper pulls and gliders to go up together at the bottom of the coat. Now the zipper pulls have separated rendering it non functional. Frequently the bottom glider gets stuck at the bottom and the top glider does move up and down so I have to step out of the coat after unzipping the top pull/glider in order to get it unstuck. Waiting for it to split and break for good.

I thought that since I've had this coat for 7 years and am now trying to identify a replacement, I'd share my insights in the hopes of Marmot updating this long standing design. First, the good: this coat is luxuriously warm. The cozy fur lining and fluffy down got me through hours long hangouts on lake ice in below zero temps and through a record -53 degree day here in Minnesota. There's no velcro, a godsend with scarves and gloves, and the storm flap is interior so no futzing. It has a femme shape and the interior pockets are cavernous. I have been very satisfied with it for these reasons. Things I'd change: Wimpy zippers. Mine failed and I managed to repair by hand, but for a coat this size the zippers are laughable. Tiny handwarmer pockets, few exterior pockets, not enough pocketspeople have mittens and car keys and phones. I don't want to open my coat in the cold to get to stuff. And I've dropped things out of the shallow hand pockets. You could make better use of the inside space near the legs for some more drop in pockets. Narrow shouldersat this point I'd probably need to replace my medium with a large to fit heavy sweatersmy shirt size is usually XS-S. The hood doesn't like to stay zipped to the coat. I'd be extra excited for built in carry straps ;) And a final comment. The length is great for standing at bus stops, not so great for getting in a car. I think next time I'd get the shorter version provided these issues were addressed.

Bought this to replace a Marmot coat who's zipper broke and couldn't be fixed. This coat does run small, but is very warm. However, the zipper is horrible! It takes a few tries to zip up and is very flimsy. I don't want to take a chance on spending so much for a coat to have it break again. Back it goes!

I have had this coat for two seasons now, it's my second Marmot down coat. Pros, it's very warm, perfect for upstate NY winters, has a great length, and is very well made EXCEPT for the zipper. The zipper is the reason I can't give this coat a 5 star review. The zipper is terrible. This jacket is hard to zip and takes a few minutes every time I put it on and is sometimes hard to unsip. A friend replaced her zipper, but I wouldn't recommend doing that as it doesn't look right and was difficult to do because of the way the coat was made. If Marmot fixes the zipper issue this is a 5 star coat. Order a size up so you have room for heavier clothing this coat is fitted. I am a size xs and ordered a small in the coat and I am happy with the fit.

The XL fits my size 16 , 5'5" bod fine. Lining is super soft, but thats the best part of the coat. The very long length, combined with the stitch pattern to control the down left me feeling like I was standing in a huge sleeping bag. Ultimately chose the Marmot Strollbridge for the preferred length, flattering stitch pattern, and stand-up collar.

The fit was a bit off for me, too tight in the chest area which prevented me from wearing a sweater underneath. I also did not like the material, it had a bit of shine which was not what I wanted, I prefer muted colors. I returned for another parka.

I so wanted to love this coat. After years of owing a North Face Metropolis jacket, I was hoping for something just slightly different. This coat FEELS amazing. It's very lightweight and super soft. I really like the brushed interior. Unfortunately its so small - wahhhhh. I ordered a small (my size in the North Face Metropolis) but there was no room for anything but a light weight shirt underneath. Zappos had the medium to my door the following day - love you guys! Even the medium felt super tight. Like no shoulder room either in addition to being very narrow. Back it goes... For reference I am 5' 118lbs.

I wanted so much to love this coat. Love the deep navy color, super warm. Nice fleece lining, pockets, etc. But the sizing and fit were problematic for me - -I'm usually a small/medium, always go medium in coats bc my shoulders are broad. This Medium was a bit snug across the chest/shoulders, so that I'd have trouble wearing a blazer or heavy sweater underneath if needed. Large was a little too big and shapeless, and too loose and boxy around the waist. Was tempted to keep the L, but was afraid I'd regret it bc the coat doesn't feel like a great look and I'd likely miss that. The closer was the zipper -- 9 times out of 10 it wouldn't zip smoothly and required several tries to get going. Sorry to have to return both sizes. A few adjustments to the design (and a new zipper) and Marmot would ave a fab design!

The fit issues many reviewers mention unfortunately apply to me. The medium was snug and felt uncomfortable and restricted. I could get away with wearing a long sleeve t-shirt under it, but anything more substantial made it visibly tight to others. The sleeves were a bit too short. The length was fantastic though, coming to about mid-knee, but still easy to walk in. The large was uncomfortably large and baggy. I could fit two of my arms in one of the coat's arms. The length increased to below my knees. The sleeves were much too long for me, coming down to cover my hands to the base on my fingers. However, if you find the right fit, I don't think you can get a better winter coat. Marmot thought of everything with this one (other than size, I guess). The fleece lining in the pockets, torso, and collar is fantastic. It's puffy, but still sleek. The pockets are deep and the inside pockets are great additions. The collar is high, but not too high, and cozy. The hood is very warm and can be tightened. The best part is that it's warm enough to make me comfortable outside on a below zero Fahrenheit day without any extra layers. The zipper did stick on both. The hood is too deep to wear comfortably with the fur on a regular basis since it sticks out from my face by a few inches. It would be excellent if there were a cinch cord to adjust the hood depth like my TNF rain jacket has.

Much smaller than the Northface Small, so I would go up a size. Biggest issue is that the faux fur is really "faux" and feels awful against my skin, others might feel differently.

Be forewarned that the wind whips right through this coat. It fits well and is very comfortable, and would be probably be fine if it were just very cold. But with wind, even 30 degrees F felt cold to me.

This coat is too long and puffy overall - it felt like I had no shape, a total StayPuff marshmallow woman! It is very warm, though, if you are taller and/or do not care about having a more fitted or feminine coat. I returned it.

I'm 5'6.5", 150 lbs, and the XL is too big, felt like I was wearing a huge sleeping bag. Tried a Large but it was too tight across the shoulders. Love the Navy color & the fuax fur hood, but the hood is quite oversized. I really struggled with getting the zipper to work. Read a lot of reviews with zipper issues. Unfortunately, its going back. I've owned the Montreal coat for years and was looking for a newer longer version. thought this was the ticket but not so much.
