My daughter loves these shoes. she's able to run and play in the school yard without a problem. The bottom of the sole is rubber so you don't have to worry about sliding. She wants to wear them all the time even when she's not in school. She says they feel great. This is the second pair.

LOVE these shoes! After reading the reviews I was worried that I would get the wrong size for my daughter. She's 3 and wears a size 9. So as recommended I bought a size down of 8.5. The shoe comes with two soles one for a wide foot and one for a narrow foot. My daughter has been sized and does not have a wide foot but I had to use the wide foot insert in order for her foot to be comfy..I would of been okay purchasing her regular size ( size 9 ) because her toes are less than an inch close to the front of the shoe. Stride rite and any good dept store will tell you to leave an inch for room to grow. So in my case my daughter will not be able to wear them long since toddlers feet are growing fast. I'm still very happy with the shoe and think they are fabulous. I purchased the navy which goes with everything!

Very nice shoe, ordered a little big, so she has room to grow. Easy on and off, she can put them on herself.

I received two different shoes in two different sizes. My experience shopping with Zappos is positive overall; so I would love to dismiss this latest delivery as human error, but this is just downright sloppy. Two different shoes... two different sizes.... are you kidding?

My daughter loved these shoes and couldn’t wait to wear them on her 1st day of school. The color is gorgeous and the material is great.

Such cute shoes and my daughter loved them, for the few times she wore them. Unfortunately, the velcro on the strap came apart, so we had to return them. Not what I had expected from these shoes, which seemed to be well-made. Oh well.

These shoes are great! My girls wear them with their dressy clothes and to church. Very well made.

Wish these had a buckle instead of hook and loop. It's not working now and the shoes are only 2 months old. Going for the buckle closure.

Classic, well-made sturdy shoe - still in good shape after a year of kindergarten wear!

This was my first FootMates purchase and I was a little confused at first to find an extra set of mismatched inserts (one for wide fit and one for medium fit). I had never seen this before and it took me a minute to realize that they ship the shoes with a medium fit removable insert in one and a wide fit insert in the other, so you can try both on and see which fits best. Then you can remove the insert you don't like and replace it with the matching extra. The inserts adhere (though its not an adhesive that's used.) I was grateful for this because while my daughter's foot isn't a true wide, she found the shoes too tight with the medium fit inserts. We switched to the wide inserts and problem solved. The shoes are high quality and go great with dresses, and yet they are comfortable and durable enough for her to run, climb and play at preschool. Since she has decided to only wear dresses with tights right now, they're a huge help. Ballet flats just don't cut it for everyday playground wear. Best of all these remind me of my own beloved classic Mary Janes I wore as a little girl. The clasps are easier for my daughter to manage on her own though because while they look like my "buckle shoes" as I used to call them, they are actually a hook and loop closure. And they come in Fushia!!! What I wouldn't have given to have something other than brown or black. But alas that was the 70s and pink was rare and special.

Love these! Velcro closure makes life easy & 2 sets of inserts let’s my daughter grow into them...we have bought 5 or 6 pairs of these & keep rebuying as she outgrows!!!!

I was concerned these would be too large and stiff but she absolutely loved them. I ordered a size 7 (Red) when she was wearing a Stride Rite size 6 soft leather shoe. So many complements and at 21 months old she can put them on herself (perhaps on the wrong foot but...) They take outdoor play much better than expected and 8 weeks later still look new!

Ok so I was hesitant about buying this shoes for my daughter! I thought it would be HARD like the old school shoes it's not. The shoe it flexible. We went with red. The I sole is nice and soft as well I got a half size up.

Our favorite brand of children’s shoes. Just wish they went larger. These shoes hold up to children’s play, yet are dressy enough to wear on Sunday. They can also be worn larger for growing room without the shoe creasing.

My daughter is usually an 8, we bought a 9 and they fit perfect. Great quality. Love that it looks like a real buckle but is really just Velcro. The best holiday shoe!

Love these classic T-strap shoes. I mainly use them as church shoes for my daughter. I purchased the navy last fall which were adorable and this fall I went with the pearl color. I like that they are velcro so she can put them on and off herself.

I sized down a half size per other reviews and the website recommendation and I wish I hadn’t! My daughter wears a size 9 in her salt water sandals and other tennis shoes and I measured her feet and was going to go with a size 10.5 but ordered the 10. The size 10 fits her perfectly with no room to grow. She says they are comfortable but I’m worried about her growing out of them within a few weeks. I’m ordering the 10.5 to compare and then I’ll keep the size that fits the best and return the other. The shoe is adorable though! I absolutely love them. I will probably order her these shoes until there isn’t a size available for her anymore. My daughter inherited her dads wide feet and these fit her beautifully as well. I am not sure how they would do with a narrow footed child. They might be too wide or clunky. There is great grip on the bottom of the shoe too so I don’t see any slips in the future :)

These shoes are true to size and made with high quality. My only dissapointment with these shoes are they are velcro and not real buckles. That point aside these are fantastic shoes.

These run long and narrow. They are good quality, though. They are also very nice looking.

I've been ordering this style of shoe for my daughter since she was one. Her feet are narrow, so I knew to order a half size smaller. I love this shoe and its durability.

These are really cute shoes and my three year old loves them. The only caveat is that the velcro holding them closed deteriorates rather quickly and renders them unwearable. However, we managed to cut off the old velcro and replace it with some new stick-on velcro cut to size (no sewing required!) and they are again good as new.

The shoes were super cute, but we decided against them because of the incredibly disgusting smell. I read other reviews that mentioned a smell, and I thought to myself, “There is no way a new shoe can smell that bad.” But they did. And I couldn’t see sending my daughter to school in them and having other kids think SHE smelled awful. They were in our house for a month and the smell never faded.
