I have high arches, wide forefeet with toes that are nearly the same length as each other and regular to narrow width heels. These shoes fit perfectly. They have a wide toe box, a reasonably narrow heel (but not crazy narrow), decent arch support and they are light. They have good grip for hiking, but not very stiff soles. No break-in agony either - I have taken two 5-mile walks in them in the last two days and my feet are quite happy. Since Keen quality has slipped so much recently, I am excited to find these and hope they wear well.

The tongue is defective in design! Hard edged and digs into your ankle, immediately! Merrell missed the mark for sure on the tongue design. Other than that huge defect, this would be the perfect shoe!

I tried dozens of trail shoes before I finally found these. I am wide where my toes connect to the foot because of bunions. But I also have a narrow heel. Plus my ankle bones sit low, so I often have a problem with the top of the shoe hitting them in an uncomfortable spot. This is the shoe that accommodates all those problems. I consistently take a size 7.5 in a street shoe, but usually go to an 8 for running shoes. I got these in 8 and they are just right. They also look great, are lightweight, and not big and clunky.

I really love these Merrell's, I purchased them because of the design as I do not usually wear black sneakers but these only came in two colors. I think that Merrell should put these soles on all their ladies athletic shoes. The shoes were extremely comfortable right out of the box. The footing is very stable and they are very light weight.

Purchased these for an upcoming 2+ week trip to England/Scotland. Thought they'd need a "break in" period like most new shoes, but super-comfy right out of the box! Awesome support, but with a minimalist feel. Love the roomy toe box and the fact that I don't feel constrained. My new fave shoe! Seriously thinking about getting a 2nd pair. Pricey, but comfort is so worth it.

Wide toe box and lightweight yes. True to size yes. Comfort in almost every way but the strange thing is that it feels like your heel is lower than your toes, sort of like Keens. As if your foot is on an incline with your toes the highest point. I thought this might stress my heel and calves. They also are just a bit ugly compared to their more fashionable Merrell sistas.

These shoes were just what I was looking for. I wanted a hiking shoe that was not a big heavy boot, but still sturdy enough for day hikes. I wore these to hike in RMNP and they were great. I didn't even have to break them in before the trip. They were just the right amount of support, but still in a lightweight package.

Really love these - they are more flat (no heel in back) than some walking shoes, and for me, this is way more comfortable. Support is great, very comfortable with or without socks. I will order this shoe in other colors.

I have long flat feet and bunions. I found this shoe to be comfortable. I can feel the arch giving moderate support. The shoe cups my heel giving side to side stability (unlikely to roll an ankle). The sole flexes lengthwise giving a natural stride that allows your foot to get exercise. There is no pressure on my bunions. The toe box is large. I can use a wool hiking sock in my normal size and it fits. Thinner socks will work as it laces closely if desired. The heel does NOT feel lower. It feels level. It is easy to break over the toe due to the shape of the sole. Not a lot of extra gel or cushion but I like this grippy light close to the ground shoe!

These are great looking shoes but following foot surgery I am struggling to find shoes that work with my orthotics. These shoes felt great on the foot that was not recovering but hurt in all the wrong places on the foot that is still recovering.

Was looking for a shoe that would take me through all the walking a week vacation at Disney World and Universal with family would entail. I have a history of foot issues related to flat feet and bunions. I have been very happy with Merrill's in the past, the style and color appealed to me. These shoes far exceeded my expectations. I took out the insoles and replaced with my own orthotic insole, but was impressed with the arch support the regular insole seemed to have. I love how the shoe cupped my heel and the design of the toe box was perfect; plenty of room but not sloppy. I experienced no rubbing, no cutting, no blisters! I cannot think of one area where these shoes failed. I may have been tired at the end of each day, but my feet were not in pain from either the activity or the shoe itself.

Comfortable for c width foot. I was surprised to find that Merrell is wide enough for me and provides stability and provides comfort as well. My orthodic insoles fir just fine. I did have an odd experience with these; the first pair I ordered did not provide enough space from the laces to sole so my foot felt squashed in the shoe. Reordered them and they are perfect. Also, I have hot feet. These are cool enough for comfort. I will buy more of these as I can grab them on sale.

I bought these just before we went on a vacation that would require a lot of walking. A large part of the reason I "risked it" is that I've had great experience with Merrell in the past. Well, these did not let me down. They were super comfortable from the moment I put them on, and I wore them every day for a week. We walked all over and at the end of the day -- no foot pain! I love them so much, I've bought a similar pair that is waterproof so I can wear them throughout our rainy summer season.

Comfortable right out of the box! A very nice shoe for warm weather walking and/or easy hiking around town. I wear an 8 1/2 or a 9 and the 8 1/2 fits perfectly.

I find these to be comfortable. I use my custom orthotics with them. Wide toe box, but not too wide in the heel, so I don't get slipping. Also, the side are not too high, so I don't get pressure on my ankle bones. All around, a good shoe.

I had to return these shoes. Not because I didn't like them. I have broken my big toe on my right foot and these shoes hit on the ball on the inside of my foot. I have a problem with this. But they felt great on my left foot and it was comfortable on the left.

I love these shoes! I have had them for several months and I wore them hiking right out of the box. I also wear them around town and they are super comfortable. They have been great for light hiking, especially in the warm months. They are not as great for going off the trail or trying to traverse a hillside or slope. There's just not enough traction for that. They also let a lot of water in if you are clumsy and regularly slip into creeks and puddles. *ahem* But that may have more to do with the wearer than the shoe. They dry really quickly, though!

Great for Baja. No problemo to step on scorpions. Good for beach and quad driving. Be careful to keep out of the reach of stray perros as they love to steal Zappos. Seriously really good shoes.

Fabulously comfortable straight off! Cushy, good arch support, look great. I stand most of the day - so hopeful these will stay cushy! Chose them over Keen Alpha (too wide) and Ecco sport Biom Grip Hydromax (hard heel and toe). I wear a 38/7.5, these seem true to size.

Very comfortable hiker, good support & good grip on the soles. I can even run in these as they are lightweight. Besides all of that, they are cute. Can't ask for much more than that, & by the way...Zappos is the absolute best!

I used to buy primarily Merrells but for comfort but have since learned to really love Born shoes. Born just did not have what I needed for an upcoming trip to New England that included a sailing excursion as well as walking. I finally found this shoe that just fits the ticket with a reasonably good gripping sole. Merrells have always been one of my favorites but this time it fit the bill perfectly. No rubbing or pinching, great cushioning and arch support. Thanks Zappos for your return policy so that I could finally find it.

These were very comfortable right out of the box. The arch support was very good. I have 2 different sized feet and narrow heels which can make finding a great fit hard, but these felt great. I broke them in with an 8 mile hike and there were no spots that rubbed. Grip was pretty good for a lower profile hiking shoe. I would definitely recommend these shoes. Relative to most hiking shoes I guess these are stylish.
