I almost sent these shoes right back after only wearing them for a few hours! My feet were killing me! After taking them off I realized maybe it was that wide strip of elastic on both side of the tongue. Sure enough, I cut the elastic and now they are the Merrell shoes I know and love.I'm sure there was a good intended reason for that strap, but for me it was very painful.

Bummed! These are super cute, lighter in color than pictured though (sea shore) and the tongue was the deal breaker, poor design in that it is too short and super stiff, cutting right into ankle, couldn't walk around house much less hike. I am 48, have purchase Merrell for years, always a 10...had to exchange for 9.5 and still too large?

I am not impressed at all with these shoes. Even though it has a wide box for the toes, they still hurt my toes on the sides. I am disappointed because I really wanted to like them. I am sending them back.

I bought these shoes last spring (2013) and have worn them 4-6 times a week to walk the dog. I don't hike or do yard work in them, etc. They are breathable - a feature most people would like - but they let a lot of dust and sand in, forcing me to wash my feet after each wear. If I walk across lawns that are wet from sprinklers or morning dew, I can count on my socks getting wet instantly. The primary reason I won't buy this model again is that the cloth next to my big toe wore holes in it within a month's use. They are really cute on my size 7 foot. I wish they had held up better but I am trying something else next summer.

Wanted to love this shoe! Like all about it except that Merrell shoes seem to make my foot and leg lean towards my knee and cause pain. Something about the way the insides of the shoes are formed puts lots of strain on my knees.

I had high hopes for this new Merrell because of all the positive reviews. But it did not work for me. This shoe runs quite large and wide; I compared it to my Pro Siren Sport and it is at least 1/2 size larger and longer. Until I put my orthotic inside, it was cavernously large and did not offer a lot of support. Also, the heel was not narrow enough and my heel kept slipping. They might work with full socks, but I mostly wear no-show athletic socks. I also found the tongue very strange; why not a normal cushioned tongue that is lined with something your sock can easily slide under? Just not a winner for me. I'll stick with the Siren Sport.

I don't like them. They're clunky and much heavier than I expected. I was looking for a lightweight walking/hiking shoe to replace older Merrells and they weigh about the same but don't offer the waterproof feature. I feel like they're the same shoe without those benefits. If I hadn't work them on a hike they'd be going back.

I loved these shoes when I first got them; however, they fell apart VERY quickly! After my first hike in them the material on the inside of the heel started to tear. This made them slightly uncomfortable on the back of my heel. After a few more hikes, the material on top of the toe started to tear away from the rubber/plastic pieces. Overall, I've never had a pair of hiking shoes fall apart so quickly. I didn't even get one season out of these shoes, and I was not particularly hard on them. I only wore them for short 1/2 day hikes. Definitely not a durable shoe or worth the money!

After four months of wearing these for city walks up to about 15 miles a week, these wonderfully comfortable shoes got holes in the fabric over the toes and then everywhere the rubber attached to the fabric more holes formed. What a shame - they feel great but have the lifespan of a much cheaper shoe. I will not be buying Merrells ever again.

Instead of sending them back, they went to Goodwill. The shoe tongue was very hard and the edges curled under. My high arches couldn't deal with them. Even tried filing the edges smoother but didn't help.
