These are the most amazing walking shoes I've owned, and I've tried all the brands over the years - Asics, Avia, Adidas, Saucony, you name it. I've got just over 300 miles on mine now and they are still holding up great. I'm only looking to replace them before 500 because I'm overweight and know that I've put too much pressure on them. Otherwise, I would have no doubt that they would make it to 500 and beyond. My recent Asics were in tatters by 250, so you be the judge! The price may seem like a lot for a walker, but there is truly no amount too great when you are talking about supporting your feet, especially if you are using them to pursue improved fitness and health through walking as your exercise activity.

First things first - I have a medium arch and suffer from heel pain (calcium deposits). I wear a size 8 1/2 in street shoes and a size 9 fit perfectly. These shoes do help with the heel pain and the arch support is good for my arch type. If you have low to medium arches these shoes will be a good match. If you have high arches these shoes might not have enough cushioning. If you have severe pronation issues you might need a stiffer shoe. For me, these provide the right amount of support and cushioning on in the morning and wear comfortably all day. It helps that they are cute (Komen Pink) and very lightweight.

Very comfortable shoe. Color is dark gray not black but I prefer the dark gray anyway. I ordered 11N. Width is fine. My left foot is slightly longer than my right foot so if you want a little more space might want to order half size larger. I have very flat feet but these are very supportive. Zappos gives great customer support and I love the free shipping!

FYI, these are dark grey, not black. Without any advance wearing, these shoes were perfect for tromping around Ireland. They are light-weight, cool and look great. I bought a pair of purple/pink NB "bubble laces" to jazz them up here at home, but the laces that came with them did not come undone.

Great solid shoe! Exactly the right size in fit and width. I walk dogs so this is a very comfy shoe for walking.

I saw this shoe recommended on The TODAY Show as a great walking shoe. I have been looking for a replacement to a pair of shoes that I walked to death and was at wit's end trying to find a pair that worked until I ordered these. The are flexible, supportive, comfortable, stylish and I do love the color. In fact, thanks to the first reviewer who was disappointed that they were not black, alerted me to the fact that they were charcoal grey with orchid. I did not want another pair of black shoes going into the spring. (They do look blacker in the photo.) The fit is true to size. I have walked about 8 miles with them so far and I am happy with the fit, support and comfort - no regrets.

Love this shoe in Black/Pink combo tried to get it in the Black/Purple combo and was shipped Black/Pink two times, so I gave up and had to return them. The website says the Purple is available, but when they arrive, they are Pink. Something is messed up in the inventory system and I can't get anyone to look in the box before sending. I'm trying to find them in Purple elsewhere before the style gets discontinued. Disappointed.

These NB are so stylish and I love the color. But...back they go. I wear orthotics, and the heel was not deep enough even with the inner liner removed. Thanks Zappos for free shipping and easy return.

Comfy shoes, true to size/width (I wear a wide) & room for an orthotic if necessary. I have a high arch so I bought a Dr. Scholl's fitness insert and they're perfect fit. Good quality & lack of breaking in period surprised because normally it takes a few wears for this to happen. Love the gray/pink color for any time of year. Going to buy another pair for a backup!

A little disappointed with the quality for price I paid. I ordered wide but they run slightly narrower than other New Balance ordered in the past. They are light and feel like walking with canvas shoes.

Shoes look purple in pic but are really more pink when they arrive, disappointed. Otherwise seem like a good shoe.

I usually love New Balance shoes, but unfortunately these shoes just did not work for me. Way too uncomfortable and the color is really gray, not black.

This is a great shoe (ordered it in blue/white also), but the color name is incorrect. This is NOT black. Charcoal grey is a better description. Disappointed.

I ordered my usual 7W and these shoes are still too narrow. I wore them around the house and by the end of the day my heels were hurting. They felt good in the beginning but as the day progressed it got worse. I am returning them today. I ordered two other pairs that hopefully will be better.

I bought these shoes because I wanted a shoe with a roomier toe bed and had always experienced more room in New Balance. However, these shoes don't seem to be any larger in the toe area. Probably ok for the average foot but not good for me. They aren't comfortable and hard to work out in them.

I have owned numerous pairs of New Balances through the years, unfortunately this is the first time I don't love the shoe! The color combination is great (pink and gray)! However, the fit isn't great! I've been running and working out in them for about 6 weeks. They have stretched a lot, plus the support in the heel bed is minimal. I can use them for day to day activities, but I had to buy another shoe for working out purposes. Kind of disappointing since the shoe was not cheap.

I am so sorry to have to return this sneaker, but the D width does not feel like my previous NB wide. It is nice and lightweight with excellent arch support. Thanks Zappos for being the best of the best!

Very disappointed. I have been using New Balance for 20 years. Not the quality I am used to - not enough padding in footbed, narrow toe box, hardly any arch support.

This shoe is good for running errands but lacks the padding I have come to expect from this brand. Normally the size I ordered - 8 1/2 wide - gives me room for orthotics. These did not -- but they are comfortable for routine every day use. I will not be using them for my 3 plus mile walks. New Balance discontinued the style I had been wearing so I'm still looking for replacements.

I hate the shoe. It does not have enough cushioning for me. After walking less than 1/4 mile both ankles and back hurt. Please design a shoe like the old rock and tone's.

I really love NB shoes. But these were just too stiff for me. I learned from a pro that walking shoes should be "twisty." Meaning you should be able to easily twist the shoe with your hands. So sadly these are going back.

Run narrow. Ordered wide, but they feel like regular width. After a few hours of walking in the mall, my toes became numb. They are cute, so I can wear them for short outings, but not for an entire day. I'm disappointed.
