It took a little while to break these shoes in, about 20-30 miles of running and weight lifting. I like them and they do breathe well. I had Nike Free shoes prior to this and they were more comfortable but I think these Asics are better for your feet and have helped cut down on knee issues when running on treadmills.

I love Asics gym shoes, and these have been no exception. I buy men's sizes in these since the medium is a D, as opposed to a b in women's (which really is a narrow, not a medium). I do tend to roll to the outside of my heel, and these do actually help (as evidenced by the wear pattern on the sole). This is the second pair of GT-1000 I have had, and the same applies as to the first. Add more arch support and they would be perfect. As it is, I add my Birk blue insoles (or any other arch supports you like) and that makes them perfect.

I was starting to have some arch pain while training for a marathon; as soon as I started using these spins things improved. They are true to their size and one of the few brands that has a size 16. I have only run in them about a month and so far they are holding up well. I mostly love that Zappos ships everything out extremely quickly!

These shoes are comfortable and look good. They were a little narrow in the arch for my liking.

These shoes look great, especially for the sale price. I bought the size 15 EE (wide) and they seemed to be a little narrower and tighter than my last size 15 EE Asics which were the IGS Gel Evolution 5. At first I was disappointed because I felt like I needed that extra quarter inch in width as these were not quite 5 inches wide. After unlacing the top two eyelets near the tongue, they felt a little better. They are still really comfortable and cushioned; And this is coming from someone with tired, flat feet who has worked for almost 6 years on hard concrete for 8 hours a day. I've only had these shoes for a week, so provided they are durable, I think they were worth the price and I recommend them to anyone (unless you have to have that 5 inch width). If you have normal feet you will probably be just fine. My overall and comfort rating is actually 4.5 stars due to the width issue. Additionally, I just want to say that Asics are my favorite athletic shoe ever, especially for someone with big, wide feet and low arches.

True fit, very comfortable. Wear Asics in white nearly every day, but needed black for an event. These were great. No loud accent colors.

Bright as advertised and comfortable. I have owned the Asics 2170 in the past and the 1000 doesn't seem to breathe as well. Overall they are worth the money.

These are my 1st pair of Asics. Shoes are very comfortable and have soft soles. But the shoes seem to make me walk on the outside of my feet.

Overall a great sneaker, I have had New Balance prior to this purchase and these seem to be well constructed and provide good support. They do run tight in the width. I run a 13 4E and these are narrow compared to New Balance.

Purchased this on a whim and have not been disappointed. They fit well and are extremely comfortable. My only complaint is they are cut too low on the sides under the ankles. Other than that I would recommend these to anyone.

A great shoe. Less cushion than the next model up. Wide size gives extra room in the toe box without feeling loose.

I have been ordering ASICS from Zappos for years because I like and need an anti pronation running shoe. I ordered the same size as in the past and the new shoes felt tight. When I held them up to my old shoes they were at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch narrower. I returned them to Zappos (they really make it easy) and ordered a larger size which fit just fine.

Pretty nice shoes. I think they are an upgrade from the 1130. The heel box is more comfortable and the shoe overall seems a little more well made. My only small complaint is the gel pad under the left toe mounds is a little higher than the rest of the shoe beds and feels just a little odd - not bad enough to return the shoes - but if I could lower it somehow I would. The right shoe does not feel this way.

Beautiful sneakers. A little tight across the top of my ankles. The length is good. I'm a 9EEE so I need a wide shoe.

I have owned four pairs of these shoes, and absolutely love them. I normally wear 8.5 4E. In these I need to buy 9 4E to get correct width, but they are absolutely amazing in terms of comfort. I gave this four stars because of an issue with the toe for me. In all four pairs I have owned, the seam where the big toe is on both shoes rips, leaving an open hole above the big toe. I always end up buying another pair because I haven't found another pair of sneakers as comfortable as these. It isn't an issue for me, but for someone who normally wears sneakers for a year or more, you will want something more durable.

Bought these to replace my Asics Kanbarra 5's which were 9.5-4E and were just wide enough for me, these I bought in the 10-4E size based on other reviews and they were the right length, but still too narrow. Guess I'll have to try another style.

Shoe is comfortable and I dig the color, I was hoping for a little more cushioning in the front sole but I'm 6'4 250 and go through shoes pretty quick. Good value for the price.

I used to be an huge Asics fan. They use to offer great pronation support and had a roomy fit. But they keep changing the design and when I developed chronic foot and ankle injuries, I decided I had to switch shoes. My Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12's were a dream shoe and paired with my Superfeet inserts, I ran well and injury free. Sadly, after I'd worn out my third pair and couldn't find them again or a suitable replacement, I had purchased these in a pinch. Big mistake. There is no cushioning nor support. It feels like running in a minimalist shoe. The instep is too low to support the use of an orthotic and after just two weeks of running in them I'm throwing I the towel. My new Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13's arrived today and I'm never going back to Asics again.

Most comfortable shoes I've ever had, however, I bought these 3 times. The first and second pair wore a hole in the top mesh over my toe in the same place both times. The third time, the shoes showed up with paint flecks all over them. Looks like sloppy factory handling.

Price was good. Appearance was very good. Workmanship is somewhat shoddy. Plus there is a sprinkling of white flecks of an unknown substance around portions of the sides of the sole, like paint and won't come off.

These are very comfortable shoes, but they did not last for me. I am 6' 175 pounds, not usually very tough on my shoes. I only used these shoes for walking, no running. I just received them the beginning of May and it is the end of June now. Several weeks ago I noticed both shoes are already showing a toe hole. Usually it would take me over a year to develop that kind of wear. Also some of the the stitching is starting to separate. I want to love these shoes but they are very poor quality, that is not normally what I see from Asics.

Not sure what is going on with Asics. Shoes are pinching or, as with this shoe, the toe leather indented/rippled and rubs my son's toe. Now we don't know what to do with a shoe that's been worn but rubs the big toe.

I have flat feet. The arch on these shoes is too high. I've been running with these shoes for a month hoping to break them in, but they still hurt my arches, especially on the right shoe for some reason. I'm actually considering going back to New Balance.

They function well as shoes to move around in, but for quick movements the shoe either re-sticks your feet or falls off. The light airy top is nice for letting your feet breathe; however, it also allows water/liquid to enter the shoes easily. While overall they are fine shoes, major flaws in design and material that is used make them limit when and where they are useful. If you want light jogging or activity shoes in a warm and/or dry surrounding, they are great. If you're looking for running or sport shoes, they can work but are not the best and if you are to wear them in a wet and/or cold environment they are less than ideal shoes.

Having bought the black GT-1000, I was expecting this shoe to be as comfortable as that one. It wasn't as soft and cushion like the first order I made. I was really expecting my shoe to fit and be as comfortable as my first purchase. When I placed my foot in the shoe, I knew it wasn't the same: hard, solid and not as comfortable. Shucks.
