I purchased this shoes for my hubby as the previous model he had was discontinued. He find these to be a great fit and enjoys running in them several times a week.

Wonderful, comfortable shoe, however, does not seem to posses the firm, stiff sole that a runner may be looking for support or to prevent over pronation. Consequently, if you want that broken-in feeling right out of the box, then this is it. I am assuming this is the difference between the GT1000 and 2000 series shoe.

Always been a fan of Asics and these shoes have been great. Perfect fit. Great support. Comfortable. Great running shoe. Great value.

First off I'm a real person that bought these shoes not some advertiser trying to up sale. I work security in Indianapolis where we do patrols all night long, walking an average of 12 miles every single night. I bought these at the greenwood park mall and spent around a lot after tax. My old Walmart brand shoes were killing my feet and the same night that I put these Asics on and started doing my patrol I felt in complete heaven. I've had these shoes for about 13 months possibly and YES they are worn but YES they are still amazingly comfortable. I am overweight and these shoes have held up beautifully through the entire time my big booty has been walking in them. I will admit though the mesh is not that strong, and there is a small hole in the top part on each shoe. On the right I think my puppy had chew time. And on the left my shoe caught on something while I was getting out of my car and it instantly tore. The holes aren't big but noticeable. Hope this review helps and I looked at some of the low rated views (with a WTF face) and all I can say is believe what you want. As a 5'7 overweight female with size 11.5 in men's these shoes worked beautifully for me and I'm buying another pair possibly off this site so I won't have to drop this amount again but the cost is worth it and I'd spend it again if that's what it cost.

Everyone I know raves about my black/onyx shoes. No bright colors, just a slick look. Comfortable when walking or running. I have wide feet and these still fit, snug though.

Very comfortable right out of the box. I took them on a trip immediately where I was doing a lot of walking and even worked out with them. They needed no time to be broken in. Excellent!

These shoes (specifically the Asics 1000) are better than any shoes that I have tried to reduce and finally eliminate knee pain. I have tried other Asics and several other brands and no shoes compare. I have run 30 miles a week for several years and it is as easy now to run it was when I was much younger. I am 58 now.

Best shoe my husband has ever worn! He has an extremely wide foot and usually can only wear new balance. This shoe is so light because of the fabric and so comfortable. He asked me to order another pair. He is on his feet all day and wears his shoes out quickly.

Great running walking shoes! This is my third pair. Love the feel of these shoes. The fit is great and the shoe offers excellent support. Purchase the wide width.

I bought these for my husband. He says that they are very comfortable. They look good for casual outings and outdoor activities.

My husband loves this shoe. He says there is great cushioning and even more comfortable than the first pair of ASICS he purchased.

Pros -really comfortable. -light. -breathable material. -good grip on the bottom. -feels durable. Cons -can't think of any. I'd recommend these to anyone who does a lot of running.

Solid trainers for the average runner. Overall, I would rate the shoe very highly. It provides a good deal of support, while not being too heavy. I do think it has poor breathability and it is very easy for this shoe to hold in sweat. Additionally the treads on the front of the shoe tend to catch carpet, which can get annoying.

This is my second pair of the GT-1000's. I ordered a more expensive Asics, and it felt too small. The minute I put these on, I could wear them all day. Would buy them again and again.

This shoe provides support, looks good and is very comfortable. I walk miles at work and my feet feel so much better at the end of the day.

I like this shoe so much this is my 5th pair. They have good cushion and once the insoles are swapped (I change all my shoes) they're good to go.

I read everyone's reviews on the GT2000 and how the quality has basically gone down, so I purchased 1 GT1000 (black and green, great looking) and 1 GT2000 to cover my basis since I'm an overpronator with flat feet. My choices are limited. To my surprise, the GT1000 was fine. I'm able to use my orthotic without taking out the tongue so I get a little give, which is good for running/walking. The GT2000 was just a little tight length-wise, so I experimented and took out the tongues and used my orthotics only. It was too unforgiving a shoe for the pounding I'll be giving it. If I buy a half size up, I'll be swimming in it. I'm waiting for a better GT2000 to come out like my 2150 and 2170. Till then, I'm purchasing a second GT1000.

I have a very wide foot and a high arch. These shoes fit the length of my foot and the height of my arch. I even have enough shoelace to put them through all the eye holes and tie my shoes (if you have high arches, you know what I am talking about). These Asics are lightweight and an overall good shoe.

Great shoe, at my size 13 EEE, is always hard to find a shoe that my feet can fit. Fits a bit bigger than described, overall, very happy with the shoe!

The only thing better than Asics is the extremely professional business ethics that Zappos is known for. I received the original pair in three days. They were a bit snug due to the fact that Asics run a little small on their sizes. After a brief phone call to Zappos, I received the second pair (a half size bigger) the next morning! That's incredible. No hassle return pre-paid on the first pair. Put on the second pair and they fit perfect. No break-in needed. An extremely lightweight shoe with plenty of support. Walked miles of city streets that day and my feet felt great. Highly recommend these for people on their feet all day. Highly recommend Zappos for all your footwear purchases. You will not regret it.

I had previously purchased a pair of these shoes from a sporting goods store, so I knew what I wanted. I find these shoes very comfortable for walking and jogging. The price at Zappos was the lowest that I found, and the convenience can't be beat. The shoes were delivered before the expected delivery date.

I have short wide feet and it's nearly impossible to find shoes that fit me at a store anymore, so shopping at Zappos works great for me. Took two shipments to find the fit. These fit my size 7-1/2 EE perfectly. I did order an extra 1/2 size larger which works perfect. I will buy another pair to have when these wear out. By far, the best walking shoe I have ever used. Expect to get at least another year, making two years, from these.

Very good value for the money. My feet like ASICS brand shoes. I only use them at an indoor fitness facility, so they last at least one year. I have an old pair that are 3 years old.

Fantastic shoe. I have been an avid Asics fan for a long time and am excited again at the fit these shoes provide. Great fit in the ankle and mid-foot, but roomy in the toe-box. I really like the semi-soft ride without the ultra-pillowy feel found in a highly cushioned shoe. I wear an orthotic, which was accommodated nicely by replacing the insole. No ideas on how these will wear, but I fully expect to add another pair when the time comes. Did an easy 3 miles in these right out of the box and surprisingly clocked a full 10 seconds per minute mile faster than the GT2000's. Thanks to the shoe construction and the moderate support in the arch, I expect to be able to increase mileage per run to the 5 mile range without the mild discomfort I seem to get from the 2000's.
