I tried to like these running shoes. Honestly, I did. They are very cute, and in theory should have been awesome. I do not have very wide feet (I guess you'd call them "average"?) but every time I wore them I got blisters on the side of my big toe on one foot, and one on the ball of the other foot. I wore them for 3-4 runs a week on pavement and the treadmill, tried lacing them differently, and every different kind of running sock I own. I gave my feet extra time to heal. No dice. I had to return these to the running store and get a different pair.

I usually buy New Balance or Brooks running shoes in a wide width. The Asics were very tight...even in a wide. Better for narrow feet.

Bought a wide - immediately had to check to make sure it was a wide after I put them on. About as narrow as a normal width shoe. Disappointed- they will be going back.

Ordered 8 wide and it was too tight. Returned and ordered the 8.5 extra wide. This time the toe box was way to big while the middle of the foot area was narrow. The fit looked awkward. Also, the lace was too short. I think I better stick with the Brooks brand.

I have friends who rave about Asics and claim they are the most comfortable shoes. I was excited to find that they came in EE. When I tried them on they were tight throughout. I have wide feet that are prone to swelling so even trying to break them in would be difficult.

I am hoping to resume jogging after a stress fracture so thought I'd start with new shoes. This is my first (and last) pair of Asics. They feel smaller than my other shoes of the same size. They also feel 'stiff' with not a lot of cushion. Definitely not a comfort fit at least for me. I'll keep them and use them for walking but won't jog in them due to them not having a roomy enough toe box. Sorry Asics but I'm going back to my old favorites....

I'm a true 8 and 1/2 WW. The sneaker fit me in the length, but was just a little too tight for me. It fits more like a 8 and 1/2 W. The sneaker is lightweight and there is a nice gel pad in the heel that was a nice surprise.

I am so disappointed with these Asics. I have been wearing this brand for years - GT2130 and some older models - and these feel very different. What I dislike most about these shoes is the heel. It is lower than my previous shoes and they feel like they are going to slip off the back of my feet. To make matters worse, in a moment of laziness, I slipped them on without untying them and now the heel on one of the shoe is permanently indented. Most shoes will pop back out, but not these. Also, it feels as if the toe box is smaller. So overall, the shoe feels smaller and at the same time feels like they are going to slip off my feet. Ugh! I paid full price for these at a local running store to support them and hate these shoes.

I'm a faithful Asics fan and have run in 2140, 2150, 2160, and 2170s. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't continue on with a 2180. I decided to try out the revamped 2000 series, and I was not impressed. Maybe it's that they run small, but I'm used to ordering the same shoe time and time again, in the same size and this time it didn't work. I have to send it back and it's time I look for a new runner. A little bummed.

I have owned over 10 pairs of Asics and these are by far the worst ones that I have owned. As many others have stated, this shoe's predecessor, the GT-2170s, are pretty amazing and have been my favorite to date. I too was expecting these to be more or less the same, but unfortunately they are not. On initial fit, they feel fine, but after spending just one hour wearing them, I noticed my legs and feet were aching and the pain just seemed to worsen throughout the day. I wear the regular width size, and noticed they are definitely narrower, and much tighter in the toe box area. My big toe was touching the front edge of the shoe and my pinky toe was rubbing against the edge, and I had never had that happen before. The support is not quite there, and also the fit around the ankles was looser than the previous model. Tightening of the shoe laces improved this, but I still noticed it was not as snug. I definitely do not recommend these shoes. I may try to return these shoes as I cannot even tolerate them for short periods of time.

OK, this is my second try at new gym shoes. As previously reported, in December, I had a combination of bunion surgery & left ankle tendon repair. I need to wear shoes with good arch support and stability, that will allow me to put in my orthotics. I first ordered the Ascis Gel-Kayano 19, in black/electric pink/apple green. I wear a size 11B (or I should say used to). I'm not one to shy away from the bright colors and absolutely hate the limited color combos most shoe companies offer in large sizes. But, I digress. The GEL-Kayano 19 in 11B was a bit too short and way to narrow. With my foot still a bit swollen, I need to go to a wide width. The GEL-Kayano didn't have a color I liked in a 11W so I choose this one instead, in the black/white/electric blue. I'm sorry, but there's no way in the world the shoe I got was a wide. I could barely get my toes in the shoe, let alone my entire foot! I checked the box and shoe and sure enough, it says 11W. Apparently Asics are not for me. It's back to the hunt.

If you liked the 2170's you are probably not going to like these. The front of the shoe is narrower, the heel is wider and lower and they felt about a half size too small. I wear a 8.5 Medium in the 2170's and if I wanted these to fit I would have had to do a 9 wide. They also didn't feel as supportive. The 2170's felt just right to me, wish they hadn't changed them! I returned these and stocked up on some discounted 2170's while they are still around.

The shoe looks great but I couldn't even get it on my foot. I purchased extra wide, but even with the laces fully opened up, my foot couldn't even get in the shoe :( Other brands I purchased at the same time fit great.

These shoes are a big disappointment for a loyal Asics buyer. I am mourning the loss of the old GT 1200+ series. This shoe is supposed to be a replacement but it is nothing like the previous models. I have been wearing the GT 1200 series forever, as have most of my family and friends. When they discontinued the series and replaced it with this one I was skeptical. I ordered a pair despite the negative reviews and found these shoes to be far inferior. They look and fit like a cheap imitation. Not only does the styling appear cheaper (I compared with my old GT 1260s), but the quality is also quite poor. I am so disappointed. My old Asics GTs had great support for my arches and the rest of my foot. I could always count on wearing them and having no issues with foot comfort or support. I put these on and couldn't get them off fast enough they were so uncomfortable. They fit like a $20 bargain discount shoe, not like the expensive, quality Asics I used to know. I've never written a review but felt compelled to do so because these shoes are such a departure from the quality shoe they replaced, and wanted customers to know my experience. So now begins my search for a suitable replacement, but oh, I will miss my GT 1200s.

As a long time user of the GT-2000 series (many pairs since 2007) I have to agree with the poster there is a huge reduction in quality. Practically no padding against the very hard heel and sole. When side by side with my GT-2170 sole appears to be about half as thick. Lack of padding left me with very sore heels and ankles even when just walking in them. Gave them about two weeks of breaking in without improvement. Lack of choices of neutral colors is also an issue. Looks like the cheapened the look of the shoe as much as the quality. Patty M

I've been a huge fan of the GT-2100 series for many years. These "improved" shoes are terrible. There is nothing comfortable, stabilizing or supportive about them. And the heel is too high in the back. It's a chore to put them on and take them off. I can't stand wearing them to be honest. Very disappointing.

I have had three pair of Asics and these were the worst wearing shoes. I was so disappointed in the quality of these shoes. I am a nurse and on my feet long hours. I am very hesitant to buy another pair.

I bought a pair of Asics Gel 2000 from another store. After three months the inside heel had worn through. There is no structural heel support and if you pronate at all they will not hold up.

A max of 1,000 words does not cover my frustration for this shoe. I used the 2100 series for 3 years and was devastated with the change to the 2000 series. The comfort, stability, and over all feel of the shoe is not at all the same as the 2100s.Very disspointing and I hope that they bring back some version of the 2100s. I would most definately not recomend this shoe to anyone!

I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes killed my feet! They are stylish and fit well but not enough support in the heel and arch. After wearing them around the house a few hours, they are going back!

I have the white/orange/pink version of this shoe and I love it. But the black/blue/pink version has been a disappointment. The fit is awkward in the arch area and the first pair I purchased tore in the toe bed area after only a few months.

I've been wearing Asics for years, but this is the first pair that's been too narrow. Obviously Asics is using a different sizing method now. Have to return it.

Very disappointed! Have only worn these shoes a few times and they are already falling apart. Separating from the sole on both pair. Hope I can return.

These are the worst pair of Asics ever! No arch support feels stiff and uncomfortable! I tried to wear them for a month and had to stop, so now not returnable! Don't make my mistake! Stay away from these crappy shoes. Very unhappy. :(
