I really had high hopes given the reviews but these sandals did not work for me. Based on the reviews, I ordered the regular size for wider feet. The sides of my feet rubbed the edge. Also, the strap would not tighten enough to keep my foot from moving around. IMO, these are the ugliest shoes ever but if they're really comfortable and good for your feet, who cares! They just didn't work for me.

I felt these do run on the large side. I think I would need to go down a full size and the width was super wide. I have average width feet so I ordered a 6 regular but they were so loose on the sides that I would also need a narrow! I’ve never owned a narrow shoe but in this style I guess I will? I sent back for refund.

Loved the shoe at first but stretched out over time and after 5ish months of wearing the shoe it is way too big. Going to have to punch more holes in the suede to make them work. Very comfortable but definitely will not buy again.

Unfortunately, I am having so much trouble with Birdenstocks since they do not come in half sizes. I ordered the 8s and they were too long. I ordered the 7s and they are too short. Sadly, they all are going back.

I used to wear Birkenstocks all the time. When I was in my 20's I hiked all over Germany, France, Italy, and Austria in my Birkenstocks. I normally wear size 9.5 medium width, but I read that these shoes now run wider, so I ordered them in narrow. The width was perfect, but the shoes were ALMOST too short. I decided to send them back after my shoes caught on the carpet and almost made me trip. The shoes were just as comfortable as they were years ago, but I suppose I just wasn't as comfortable walking in them as I used to be.

I love the sandals themselves, they're super comfortable and Zappos is always Awesome, they're fast, and customer is the Best, they're always Super Helpful!! However the for me the color is just really far off compared to the picture. I ordered the Suede Taupe which you can see in the picture the straps are significantly lighter than the footbed, but the ones I got the straps are the same color as the foot bed. More of a Tan, definitely NOT Taupe, not even close! :(. Sorry but the dark tan is just to masculine and a little too granola-e for me.

I normally wear a 7.5/8 and I ordered a 7 whi?h was the right size for me. I have low arches so these rub hard on the insides of my feet, which sucks, but they are comfortable if I don't walk longer than mayb? a half hour in them.

I just ordered my first pair of Birkenstock. I need shoes with great arch support and soft footbed. This shoe has the great arch support. At first the footbed seems hard but from what I have learned is you need to brake them in. Since my foot slides around in these I am sending them back. I have another style that I will try for a long period of time.

All the hype made me super excited to get these bad boys on my feet. Meh. I just don't think they're really that comfortable despite a significant amount of time wearing them (I've had them for more than a year now and try to wear them every time I can get away with sandals). I'm always a size 6 and ordered a 35 and in terms of fit they are way more comfortable than the Birkenstock Gizeh sandals I also have. Maybe it's the soft footbed that makes these more tolerable than the Gizeh. These sandals make my athletic legs look wider than they are. Maybe if I was a 6' tall supermodel with super thin legs I could look all cute and bohemian. But alas I'm just 5'4" with a normal person body. Maybe my style isn't cool enough to pull these off. I don't know. Oh well. I commend everyone who loves these and looks fashionable while wearing them.

I'm in my 70s and used to love Birks. I'd hope this one would work with soft footbed. It did not. It was too wide, which could have been fixed by adding another hole, and my feet must be too tender to adjust to the foot bed. And it slipped off my ankles. So sad none of the Birks I have tried are working for me anymore.

I had these same shoes back in the 1990s and loved them, so I was quite taken aback that they were not instantly comfortable. I know it takes a bit of time to break in, but I developed blisters on my arch and the bed feels extraordinarily hard. I love how they look and am really hoping that they break in soon. I just wasn't expecting a difficult break in for these shoes.

If this is the SOFT footbed, I can't imagine what the regular one is like. I really liked these shoes--supportive, stable, quality construction, and they even looked good on my feet--but after wearing them for a while, the balls of my feet actually felt bruised for a few hours. If you like a cushiony footbed, this is not that! I was looking forward to a great Birkenstock experience, but sadly, I had to return them.

These sandals run very big. I ordered the 5½ size and that ran big for me even though I always wear size 6. Moreover, they are not as cushiony as I expected. The design and style of the sandal is chic nonetheless.

I am really disappointed that Birkenstock has increased the strap length and size of this shoe. I compared the new ones to ones I have had for years and there is a difference. I had to have more holes put in the straps and wish now I had sent then back. They are definitely "sloppy" on my feet.

I have pairs of Arizona soft footbed sandals in navy, dark gray and coral suede and never had dye stain the skin of my feet like this pair of black suede Arizonas did the first two days of wearing. Awful! I don't use creams on my feet and didn't walk in rain, so cannot explain the dye transfer in two dark stripes across both feet. Soap, water and vigorous scrubbing could not entirely remove the marks. This is the first time I'm returning a pair of these for dye transfer, but it was a real problem.

Hmmm...the suede is not the nice fuzzy suede I was expecting and have seen before on Birkenstocks, not sure if there is another suede 'out there' and the line I bought uses a lesser quality but that doesn't seem right either. Really bums me out because it makes the taupe color ugly and I used to buy gizeh in suede taupe and they stopped making it in that color so I tried these but the suede is UGLY, just plain ugly so now they go back. I like this style though. VERY comfortable! I got narrow and they are great. But just ugly so its a no go.

I actually ordered these after reading so many reviews. Had never stepped in Birkenstocks before or ever even seen a pair in person. I ordered the Arizonas in black but received brown Birkenstock clog type shoes. Must have been a mistake and could've been easily rectified with the amazing Zappos service but I saw myself in the mirror and I just couldn't get myself to go out in them. Even walking in them felt a bit strange, although I have heard that they take a bit of getting used to. Maybe I'll give them another a shot but as of now...I can't do it! It took me years and several returns to accept Uggs into my life - maybe Birkenstocks will be the same case!

Gorgeous color, but the suede straps are way too long. I had to fasten them on the very last hole, so if they stretched even just a tiny bit, the sandal would end up being too wide. Just as an FYI, the soft footbed does not have as much arch support as the original cork footbed.

The inside of the sandals, the part where your feet rubs against, does not last. After 6 months of daily wear, the inside wore off and forms a big hole where you can see the another layer of the sandals. The hole and the circle around it makes the sandals really uncomfortable to wear. The durability of the sandals is poor. I would expect sandals this expensive to last like

These new Birkenstocks are sized a bit differently than the older styles. The straps are longer and the hole placement is different. This made adjusting impossible as I ran out of holes. These are ok if you have a thick heavy foot but not for a very wide thinish foot. The non-cork footbed does not allow for easy on & off if you wear socks. They are half a size larger than older ones and they are ¼" wider which is good for me. The size 36 almost fit but too narrow to allow for bunions. The length was better than the 37. It is closer to the old 37s. There is not much of an arch! If you have high arches, stick to the original Arizonas or the high arch style. Sadly I had to return them.

My foot doctor recommended Birkenstocks for plantar fasciitis. Because my third toe is as long as my big toe and second toe, these didn't work for me. That third toe didn't have enough room at the top and kept rubbing on the edge. Also, the width was too big. I have to order man's size because the woman's doesn't go high enough, which I think makes it wider. The straps kept collapsing making it hard to slip it on.

Unfortunately, these shoes did not work for me. It seems the arch support was a little too much for me, and it made my arches ache.

My second pair... same size but the other pair was leather not shade, so maybe that's why it felt so big? I had to make another hole to make the straps tighter. It made it a little better but I notice they aren't comfortable bc I have to hold my feet in a way that jerks them from flying off. Do my feet are not relaxed walking in these.

The suede is not as "thick" as my old normal footed Arizona sandals. That means the suede actually lies on the footbed when it is off. As well, the suede seemed stretchy and since it was on the last buckle hole it wasn't going to fit for Ling and I would have had to cut the end strap of the buckle. I had my other pair for 30 years. I returned this paid and will try their regular footed Arizona suede.
