I love Birkenstock’s, and thought these would be fine in narrow as i have a narrow foot but it actually squished my foot in the footbed, so am returning and will get normal ones

I always take a 40 reg. in Birkenstocks but these were WAY too wide, I'm sure because they are unisex. Returned them for a narrow, hopefully they won't take too long to get here, Zappos has been taking way longer to ship than they used to, I would say due to the pandemic but other places I've been shopping haven't slowed down.

I bought these to support my aging feet in the house (wood floors). A long time ago, I spent many hours trying on birks to figure out which size and width I needed. Unfortunately I have an adult size no brick & mortar store wants to purchase (35). In fact, birkenstock themselves don't bother offering to U.S. customers much choice in this size. Once size was figured out picking a shoe online has been much easier. The materials used matter in the comfort. The fake leather ones (Birkoflor) are soft, yet sturdy and hold their shape on top. As house slippers you want to get on quickly, they work better than these suede tops. The suede flops over and you have to more delicately put your foot in. Kind of annoying I can't do it faster, however once on the softness of suede is nice. The black suede color so far is holding. I worry it will stretch out too much over time, but for now they are fine. I haven't yet figured out whether the hard footbed or soft footbed is the best for me. Just figuring out I needed a wide footbed and had to go down two sizes from my running shoes took up so much of my time I stopped trying to narrow down the search, but am ready for the next time to test. Zappos is the best if you need to try shoes on from afar. Inside the shoe box is a pattern of their footbed with a sizing ruler so you know exactly what to get. Try to find one of these guides, or go to the Birk website for their guidance on how to measure. This would have saved me considerable time if I had been able to narrow it down more on the sizing and width. Then you can waste your time on the style and you'll still have some energy left.

There are two different shoes, Zappos is awesome but now I need to buy another repair to make sure the second pair isn’t mismatched before I Return this pair!

I loved the sage color , soft suede right out the box. I am a female size 8-8.5 sort of wide feet, Love roomy shoes. The size 38 length was just right but straps were much too long! On the tightest setting they were too big. Unfortunately went back.

These shoes are nicer-looking in black suede, I think, and the width is very adjustable. I have narrow feet but the strap worked on the last hole. But the ends of my toes rubbed on the raised edge, and would have become quite sore if I'd kept the shoes. A larger size would have been too big.

The shoe was ordered "narrow width" and I have the buckles on the next to tightest hole. While it fits now, I will ultimately have to punch holes as the suede relaxes much more than the leather Arizona, which I also have. I wish Burkenstock still used the women's fit and not Unisex.

These stretched and seem to fit too wide now. I prefer the non-leather style. Otherwise, I love birkenstock and have bought multiple pairs. Super comfy!

Of course, Birkenstocks are wonderful. The bummer in this case is that the first pair of Arizona Birks ordered were narrow width, and came in a light, pretty taupe. Narrow was a bit tight, so decided to return for regular width, also taupe. Those are inexplicably darker and more drab. Kind of looks like they were dyed in dirty dishwater compared to the lighter version. Someone has photos on here with the exact same issue. It's like Birkenstocks cut their narrows from a lighter lot of taupe suede than their regulars. That said, the darker taupe is, you know, fine. You probably wouldn't know it was a bit dingy looking if you weren't comparing them side by side. Still keeping the regular width version. I called CS and they had no idea what I was talking about wrt to the taupe inconsistency. So, just a heads up about this. The lighter one sure looked good with the slightly rose-gold buckles -- wish that one was the standard.

They looked and felt soft, and seemed to be very comfortable. Size 40 was true to size for women, I wear a size 9 now. My foot is average width so I chose 40 Narrow. Good fit! But I had to return them because the sole thickness was not equal on both sandals. One was higher than the other, noticeably to the eye and the foot. I recommend these if you are willing to try for an even pair. Zappos is amazing with returns and replacements so you can always re-order.

A little bigger than expected

I like that the footbed supports the shape of my foot including the bends of the toes. I have a high arch and this has excellent support. Some sandals of similar design hurt the top of my feet, but not Birkenstocks.

Love the looks, but it seems like the footbed isn’t as soft as my other pair.

I ordered a size down because I read about the straps being too big. The size down strap fit but the length was too short.

A bit big

Fit ok but I could have went a size lower I’m a nine and a 40 In my danskos or any other euro shoe and I feel like to have a more snug to the foot fit I could have went down to a 39

My first Birkenstocks. Very appealing but too rugged for me. The footbed was comfortable but the straps were way too big and thick to shorten. A major problem for me was that I got no traction standing up from a wheelchair. Will keep trying. Thanks for your help.

Birkenstock sandals typically run a size large and a size wide, so I go down a size and a width. Knowing this is key. Once you find the right fit, there is a short break-in period. Then the fun (and comfort) begins!!

Very cute, this will probably be my go to sandal this summer. They run a bit big so I had to return for a size down but customer service was great and I received my new order the next day.

Wayyy too big. Had to reorder a full size down from my usual size 9. Kept the 8, but in hindsight, should’ve gone down to the 7.5 as the sandals wear in and the straps stretch/loosen a bit. Great quality material though, and beautifully made.

I love my Birkenstocks, I own three pairs. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to send my recent purchase back. I ordered the Taupe Suede and it's a very different color than pictured, much darker than I was looking for and a rather odd color. Anyway I shall return and order the black instead. Already own the gray in the suede which are gorgeous!!

These are the classics. I love them but they don’t love me. I will have to stick with the Florida and Sydney style which somehow fit perfectly. I am a 7.5 B. Wear a 38 regular. The narrow is just a tiny bit too narrow.

As a flat-footed person, I've never successfully worn these but thought I'd give them a try. Unfortunately, the edge of the leather, which is pretty firm, dug into my arch and was so uncomfortable, I knew I'd not be able to wear these. Had to return them.

I did not like the look of these shoes. Too wide

Pretty awesome shoes -- I've wanted a pair for a long time -- but consider sizing up half to full sizes.
