I ordered the soft footbed in size 39 but was delivered the regular footbed. It felt ok but a little short in the toe bar on the right foot. The left felt perfect, but apparently you’re supposed to size Birkenstock’s from the right foot. I seem to land right between sizes 39 and 40, depending on the footbed. Apparently the soft footbed can change the size a bit or just enough to make a difference either way.

well they sure r good looking! what’s so weird is that I got the exact same sandal in different color and they fit differently. I’m torn because the first pair, brown, fit like a glove out of the box! The second pair, these gray guys, were too big on every level. SAME SIZE! sending back. prob keeping the perf fit even though not crazy about color.

The length was good but even though they were narrow they were too big even on the very last hole

The regular size soles fit well, but the straps are too loose. I had to add an extra hole on the lower straps and 2 extra holes on the upper straps to get them to fit.

Are they sexy? No. Are they comfy, quality and highly functional- big old yup! This is my first pair of Birks. I was hesitant but I have outgrown the idea that flip flops are a good investment. While I still dont think they look amazing, these sandals are very comfy and high quality. I am impressed. The 39 was JUST too small so I ordered a 40. I think I'm technically somewhere in between. But better to go up though since the toe lip could get uncomfortable if they are too small, I think. I found both sizes to have the same materials and coloration, which i read was amn issue for some folks.

I might have could have worn a narrow, I’m just not real sure. They fit fine I suppose as far as width goes. Yet I do believe I could have gone a size smaller. I’ll try the next size down next time. These do fit.... I just believe I could have gone down a size. I wasn’t sure which way to go, when I ordered them. I wear size 6 1/2 n 7 in most shoes . So I got the 7 in these. I’m keeping them. I do like the soft bed in this style.

Suede is very soft and comfortable but my foot slid forward because it does not hold my foot in place like the regular leather Birkenstock’s. I returned them because of this.

Fit and size are great - I have wide feet due to my bunions and these shoes felt great. The soft suede didn't irritate my bunion and it felt like i could walk in these long distance. Not the prettiest looking shoe in my opinion thus the low style rating. Overall was set down a star due to a quality control issue - the glue on the inside arch of one shoe was protruding from two spots which scratched my skin. I'm exchanging this for a new pair in the same size/color. Hope the next pair doesn't have the same issue.

I love Birkenstocks & have had many over the years. I wear a 39 & have a slightly wider foot. I have regular & wide Birks & can adjust but this pair is super wide. My foot slips out on the tightest notches. They are unisex but I've had other too without this issue. I think I will make new holes in the straps.

This shoe is WONDERFUL. I have worn a black pair for over a year and they are still as confortable as the first day wore them. I have a problem with swelling in my feet and these shoes are Perfect. I can always rely on ZAPPOS when it comes to odering my Birkenstock shoes. Thank You.

I have worn Birkenstocks for years, and although these are not the most fashion-forward style shoes, they fit my difficult feet as well as any shoes on the market, and they hold up well through years of wear and tear.

Birkenstocks are always wonderful. I returned these as I had ordered a size too small.

I’ve been wearing birks for years and years. Love all of them. I have a fairly high instep and every pair except this one I’ve had the straps somewhat extended. This pair the straps are long - I’m on the tightest to start. Just something to be aware of.

I have a pair of nubuck tan pair of Arizona’s and I liked how deep the black looked in the suede so I purchased those over the leather. One thing I did notice is that after a couple of wears, the straps stretch out and I have them on the last notch now and my feet flop around in them. I still find them very comfortable. I would just size down if you can. I did already based on the pair I had before because I think they run wide already and I have wide feet.

Love the soft suede straps. Super comfortable. They feel a little bit big and loose. I may punch one more hole to tighten the straps a little more. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is my first try of the soft footbed and I don't think i like it. It is not as comfortable for my heel as compared to the numerous Birkenstock pairs i have with the regular footbeds. It is more cushiony, but the heel well is deeper and the sides of it are not cushioned, so this creates unpleasant pressure on the sides of my heel, a problem i do not have with the regular footbed. This was also my first try of the Arizona. Have to say i find them to be heavier than other Birks that I have. Maybe it's the large buckles that add weight, or maybe the soft footbed? Not sure, but i will give the regular Arizona a try if i can find the similar taupe or grey color and see how that goes.

I bought two pairs of the Arizona Soft Bed Birkenstocks, both suede, in black, and tan. I was a years-long Mephisto customer but have given up on the new hard footbed Mephisto is making now. The regular Birkenstock footbed is too hard for me but the Arizona Soft Bed is better. Unfortunately, the regular width is too narrow to accommodate my bunions, and the wide width is too wide to my narrow instep and heel. I’m keeping one pair because I’ve worn them around the house, but I’ll have to see a shoe repair about putting an insole in these to improve the fit. Although the straps are adjustable, the wide width is still too wide.

When you order suede Birks, they tend to feel larger, and the foot slips around a little more in the shoe. I don't prefer this, so am exchanging.

I usually wear a 9.5-10 wide, and I followed Zappo's recommendations and got the 41 regular. My feet were swimming in these. I returned them and kept the Birkenstock Mayari. They did seem comfortable, and I foresee a pair of Arizonas in my future. As for style, well -- that's not why we buy these, is it?

While I loved the color and the softness of the suede, the medium width was way too large for my normal width feet. Even at the tightest option, they were too loose. The suede is very thin, too. Returned

This is my first pair. I had no idea that buying Birkenstocks could be so confusing - leather, oiled leather, Birko-flor, Birko-whatever, suede, soft footbed, original footbed, etc. I had to do more research than I could imagine to make sure I had them where they fit right. I wear a solid 8.5 in regular shoes. Wound up with a 39. The 38 fit better in that my toes could grip the raised toe grip perfectly, but the end of my toes touched the top, and that bothered me. Chose the regular vs. narrow. Average width feet, and both fit fine, but I noticed that with the average, I could really spread my toes out whereas with the narrow, it felt like a normal shoe. My daughter has much more narrow feet, and the narrow fit her beautifully (although she’s not interested in Birkenstocks). The leather felt very rough to my feet, so I got the suede. However, the holes in both differed. For the suede, I eventually had to use a drill to make new holes because they weren’t tight enough, whereas the leather had more holes to go. Also, my left foot has an occasional “foot fart” noise in these shoes. I didn’t notice it until I actually took them outside for a walk, which at that point I had committed to keeping them and was not trying them on. I’m hoping it goes away as I wear in the shoe and it conforms to my foot. Overall, I like them and they are super comfortable!
