This is a great birkenstock. I have previously had the classic leather birks without the soft footbed and this is major game changer. I truly enjoy this pair much more, it's incredible comfortable after a long day of walking. I did get a few blisters where the footbed meets the straps on the inside arch of my foot. However, this dissipated quickly and is much better now. The suede straps wear in easier and are awesome with the soft footbed. Great shoe overall!

Okay, I really messed up, I read the reviews and decided these were for me, but didn’t read the information that was provided. I don’t have a narrow foot so ordered the wide, I didn’t read the part that said narrow to medium width, my fault. When I got them we were leaving town and I planned on using them, basically I planned on wearing them a lot. I thought I could make it through the vacation with wearing these. They are to loose, the bottom or footbed feels great, could be a hair shorter, but hard to keep my foot in the because the straps are not tight enough. Of course I wore them, so can’t send them back. Know ones fault but my own. They are great shoes, going to save up and get a pair that fit right. I love the soft leather straps and the foot has great support

Love these. I have several Birkenstocks and I think the suede with the soft footbed are my new favs. Comfortable right out of the box. Got my usual size in all Birkenstocks.

Love these and all my Birks!

I tried on many different Birkenstock styles that did not suit my foot. This shoe, in narrow, finally was the one. Due to the unisex sizing of some of the styles you really are trying on men's shoes. Also, I wasn't able to tolerate any of the Birkenstock "thong" styles that had the strap between the big and second toe. They were all way too stiff. I wish this one had just a little more arch support, but it is a great shoe and wearable right out of the box.

I have been a 39 in Birks for years. Now I am a 40, but it might be because it's the soft footbed. In any event, I love these. Super comfy. Just be aware, if you haven't tried the soft footbeds before, you might need to go up a size;.

I always size down in Birkenstock. I’m a size 6 and wear a 35 in Birk. Also, I’m a lover of Birk and the comfort and style of the sandals. It’s my go to for sure. However the suede this particular sandal is made out of itsnt durable. If it gets the slightest bit wet it discolors completely. I loved the light grey/tan color and it discolored to a dark grey almost green leather. I understand suede has to be taken care of, but I didn’t expect extreme discoloration. I returned them.

A little bigger than expected

According to the size chart, I was a size 36 but I ended up sizing down to 35 and they fit perfectly. My normal street shoe is a women's 5-5.5 but maybe the unisex sizing is why it seemed to run larger. The soft footbed is really comfy and the sandals broke in after maybe 2 wears. They're really comfortable and cute! It might be a fashion faux pas to wear sandals with socks but I like that I can easily do that with these after wearing flip flops for years, especially when out camping and you just want something to easily slip some shoes on without taking off warm socks. They're supportive and will hopefully last a long time.

I have been wearing a size 38N for years but now at age 60 my feet have spread in length and width so the sizing was a project. I ordered the gray velvet suede—a nice charcoal-like shade--that will work in all seasons and go with everything. I have never owned suede before but seems to allow instant break-in. I did notice right away however that the area on top of both my big toes were irritated from the sharp edge of the leather (this while still walking on carpet right out of the box). I solved this by finally sanding and rounding the edge with an emory board. I also added a rectangle of Dr Scholl's moleskin padding by placing it on the bottom side of the strap from the footbed to the first hole (see photo) and setting it back from the edge so it does not show. This also helped the sandal to fit a little better and had the added bonus of holding the strap up so I can just slip in now without lifting the strap. The moleskin formed a tight bond—I foresee no problem with it detaching. It probably would be enough to just sand the edge, but I wanted the added assurance. I am between a narrow and regular and between a 38 and 39 now, but decided to go up in size to 39R—right now with thick socks the fit is perfect. I read that the adult foot grows 1/2 size in length every ten years after age forty, and Birkenstocks last a long time—so sizing up seemed wise. I did try on a 38R and a 39N before ruling them out. The regular is a smidgen longer than the narrow. On my feet, the 39N was the perfect length for me—the 39R is a teensy bit long and the 38R is a teensy bit short. But the narrow was just too narrow—I am a C width now. Since aging feet spread and flatten out without growing in volume, the straps were too long on my 39R. I punched two extra holes in both straps using a small drill bit. Then I used a scissors to cut the suede to shorten the straps which were now so long they were almost touching the floor. I was surprised that a regular sewing scissors cut the leather with no problem—I thought I would need a craft knife. It took much more effort to drill the extra hole—so the suede is substantial enough. I did mark the place with a pastel pencil and scored it with an exacto knife first before trimming the strap length. If I had not previously owned Birkenstock sandals, I would not have gone to all this trouble (or been brave enough to modify them!!), but I know they will be fine now. I never had issues with a sharp edge before—always ordered the old version of the nubuck. Like other reviewers I feel bad about returning so many shoes in my struggles to find the right size, but I live in the rural heartland—would need to drive quite a distance to try these in a store. My first ever pair of Birkenstocks! I love them!!

I’m a long time fan of Birks so I hoped my size would be the same. Several years ago I had heel spurs and plantar fasciitis and lived in my Birkenstock’s. My feet healed and gradually stopped wearing them. I tried an old favorite of mine(the Arizona) on at my daughters and immediately remembered how they felt. I got my new ones yesterday and the awesome memories of the fit and perfect arch were not a disappointment! I’ve missed them and am so glad to have them back! Thanks Zappos!!

This was my first pair of Birkenstocks in years (decades really), my have they changed. They were both too big and too small at the same time. The straps have no structure and just limply flop over. The photos with the straps staying arched in position are edited more than a Kardashian photo. My toes had to do all the work trying to keep the sandal on my foot. I returned.

I ordered the 38 Narrow and it was perfect. I normally wear a 7 regular width and a 7.5 regular width in sneakers. The 38 narrow is perfect. The 38 regular was too wide and flopped around on my foot.

Beware: soft footbed Arizona is NOT the classic Arizona. The soft footbed is squishy latex foam, instead of the classic cork slowly conforming to your foot for a custom fit. It otherwise looks the same and is probably comfortable, but if you want the original Arizona, order the regular Arizona. I'm returning and reordered.

I am leaving the country for six months and desperately needed a new pair. To me it looked as if they were worn and then returned. Unfortunately I don’t have time to make a fuss and return them. Other than receiving used sandals they are wonderful. I have been wearing Birkenstocks for about 25 years and love them. For shoes I wear Dansko. I have never had an issue with Zappos before and will continue to shop with them after I return. I thought you should be aware.

I like that the footbed supports the shape of my foot including the bends of the toes. I have a high arch and this has excellent support. Some sandals of similar design hurt the top of my feet, but not Birkenstocks.

Thank you Birkenstock for making narrow and small sizes - and for Zappos for carrying them. These are more steam-lined as the regular ones, they're VERY comfortable, I'm a convert.

Love the looks, but it seems like the footbed isn’t as soft as my other pair.
