The shoes are beautiful fit nice in toe and heel area with great arch support. Unfortunately, I have narrow feet and the area above the toe box gapped and I had to return.

These are supportive and very comfortable and well made. They run wide in my opinion, as I am a very average 9 1/2M and the width was about a 1/4" too wide, which I feared would cause blistering. My ankles are narrow and even cinching laces all the way was not firm enough. With this in mind they are a nice pair of boots for the price, if the fit is right for you.

Ariat boots wear and wear and wear, and are so comfortable after the break in period...but I would not ride in these. I believe that you need a leather, smooth sole so that your foot comes out of the stirrup easily if you and your horse part ways. I'm speaking from experience here. These are stylish for walking and work if you're looking for the classic look over leggings or skinny jeans but not a good choice for riding.

So far so good. I run size 8.5-9 and I ordered the 8.5. It feels a little big in the toe box when I put them on (not enough to send back though). The laces keep the ankle part tight. It works fine with thicker socks and feels okay when I am riding. I am wearing with saxon equileather half chaps.

I bought these for horseback riding, which they are good for. These are not comfortable to walk in. Also, these are the ugliest shoes I own, which is OK because I don't mind them getting dirty around horses. Good for their purpose and nothing else.

These are nice overall riding boots right out of the box, there was no break-in period required. I only gave them four stars because they do not feel quite as sturdy as my old Ariats did.

Bought these boots to replace my 9-year-old Ariat Paddocks and was very surprised by how uncomfortable they were. The hard toe extends much further back than on the older style, hitting the top of my foot right at the base of my toes, digging into my foot with each step. These are also narrower than the older style. Returned promptly.

Good shoe. However, sole of shoe has begun to pull away from toe of the shoe. Liked boot except for that.

These boots are super cute, but were hard for me to get on. Felt narrow for Ariat. Footbed was comfy, wish they would have worked out. Back they go.

First day wearing these...started off great but now are hurting the back of my heels. I think they will take some time to break in. I hope so because I really like them! I'm only giving 3 stars because I can't be sure they will work out.

This boot looks really cheap in person. The entire sole is plastic/rubber and definitely looks like it. The tongue is made of vinyl -- not leather. The leather portion of the boot looks fine, though. I sent them back and bought the Frye Sabrina 6G lace-up. I must admit, though, that these boots were immediately comfortable -- very comfortable. If you can afford a little more, there are nicer options. Price for value, this boot is probably a good deal -- they just weren't the right ones for me. They also felt very wide and much larger than expected. I would definitely order a half size or whole size down.

I was disappointed in these boots. I had been spoiled by similar Ariat zip up boots I purchased several years back. They were more expensive then (the same boot is less expensive now) and I cannot help but wonder if Ariat has sacrificed quality to make their boots more affordable. My old Ariat boots had leather interior and have lasted forever. They are starting to look beat up now -- still fine for kick arounds, but I felt it was time to get another nicer pair I could wear out. (I wore the old pair daily for years until the warm weather.) The bottoms on the new boots are thin and feels like if you stepped on something formidable it'd pass right through. The interior is cloth (as are the new version of the Ariat zip boots) and it just doesn't give me that solid feel and support the old boot gave. Now it's a little apples and oranges. The new boots are ties and are slightly different, but very close to the zip up pair. And looking at the photos of the zip up pair I can see it has they now have the same interior (cloth) as my new boots. I hate buying boots at department stores because they are cheesy. But my new Ariats feel like just smidgen better than department store boots, not light years apart like they were. I am tight with a buck but will spend good money on a good shoe that'll last and gives good support. (I was brought up in Brockton, former shoe capital of the world back in the day. Our factory worker parents understood the construction of a good shoe and the importance of wearing something well made on your feet.) I understand for marketing reasons why this might have been done, but I'm bummed.

I really like these boots, they fit and look great. Unfortunately the soles squeak with every step.

My foot spread and I had to buy some more Ariats. I ordered 8's, my new size, and they were too big. So I tried the 7.5, and they hurt the top of my foot. These boots are nothing like the good sturdy, comfortable Ariat paddock boots I bought years ago. I read somewhere that Ariat makes the toe longer to help the rider slide their toe into the stirrup, and that is why they are bigger. I was shocked at this. A good rider doesn't need that king of "help." Why mess with the size of a boot. I've never had porblems with Ariats in the past, and I've had paddock, field, and the Terrains. I've bought Ariats at least 6 or 7 times over the past 20 years. If it ain't broke, please don't fix it.

I love these boots for their style and comfort, but I have only had them since August and already they need repair. One of the laces came frayed and has broken, and at the tips of both the sole is pulling away from the boot. These are things I can easily get repaired with new laces and some glue, but I shouldn't have to so soon after purchase!
