I got these boots to wear all summer in Lacoste, Provence, France. They're great on the rough, slick cobblestone of the village with steep inclines. I wore them all over Paris as well, and haven't had any problems with comfort. They broke in easily and are made extremely sturdy. Well worth the money!

When I received these boots I was a bit worried, as they were rather stiff. The first few times I wore them they did indeed hurt a bit. I was glad I hung in there, because once they were broken in (after about 4 wearings), they are so comfortable I can wear them all day (i.e., hours of shopping, entire day at work) and my feet don't hurt one bit! A bonus is they don't scuff at all so far, and that always happens to me that my toes gets scuffed from driving or knocking them on my desk at work. I love these boots now and would recommend them without hesitation. They are a great value for the price.

I tried on several boots of all different styles, shaft sizes, designs, etc. before settling on this pair. At first, I ordered a 7, my typical size, but exchanged it for a 6.5. The fit was wonderful (e.g. width, the size, and the arch support), and I still have this exact pair a couple years later! Though the fit isn't as snug now, I still like to rely on these. With the amount of pounding, walking around, running around, and even all of the standing I've done, these shoes have been a real trooper. My biggest surprise was that I can wear it in the rain (California rain) and my feet will stay dry! Definitely recommend these and will probably go for another pair when the time comes.

I don't ride horses, but love the support and durability of Ariats. I've had a few pairs. I've worn them waitressing (the clogs) and walking around New York City all day, and they are always comfortable. These are no different, and go smoothly under my slim leg jeans.

My second pair of Ariat Heritage III Paddock Lace. I like shoes that are supposed to DO something; I don't go for a throwaway look or flavour of the moment. These fit the bill and are fashionable, practical.

These boots are so incredibly awesome! They are cute, comfortable, great support and no break in time whatsoever. I just love them. I am thinking that I need to order a second pair just so I have a back-up. They are not warm like a winter boot but just add wool socks and all is well. They have very good traction in the snow as well. And Zappos is great like always. But these boots, they are great!

These boots are stylish and comfortable. I've been looking for a lace up black boot for a while, and finally found this Ariat. Growing up I wore Ariats for horseback riding, and never thought of them for city wear. These are total crossovers--sleek enough for the city, and well-made enough for the barn. They feel supportive, and still flexible so I can ride my bike comfortably.

I bought these as a comfortable pair of work shoes for the office. I really like them and would buy them again. I walk a lot on concrete and wear out my soles quickly. I hope these hold up better than my usual shoes, but I will have to wait and see.

These boots are the best. They are both comfortable and handsome. I use them for walking, not riding, and have found that there is no break-in period and that they offer good support.

I was looking for something comfy that would work well with skinny jeans. I also tried some bootie style shoes as well. I have 2 pairs of Ariat sandals and they are extremely comfortable and well made. These are nice. The rubber sole is a plus. I have very high arches and they are a little tight going on but fine after that. Plenty of room for heavy socks. I did read that other customers thought they ran a little big. I don't think so but they do have a roomy toe box, which I like. I live in Georgia but was up in Indiana recently and wore them up there. Rubber soles worked well in snow and slush. My daughter is thinking of getting a pair. I also agree with another review I read before purchasing that the leather is a little stiff at first.

I was not looking for equestrian boots, in fact I didn't realize these were equestrian boots until I started reading the reviews and only one reviewer mentioned that fact. I have to say I love these boots. I have been looking for mid-calf (ish) boots for about a year now & granted, I have very hard-to-please feet. I have arthritis, neuropathy, two previously broken 5th metatarsal bones among other things!! They are stiff in the ankle area, but that's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. They are extremely well-padded, well-made and pretty! If you're looking for something like this, don't hesitate for a moment. I'm a 7 and I bought a 7. Yay for Zappos. You know I love you! Oh, and with regard to being true to size, there's lots of room in the toe box but not in a bad way, just in an "ahhh, these are comfortable" way!

These paddock boots are comfy and classic. I purchased these about a month ago to ride a few times per week. After trying on a few different pairs of Ariat and Dublin boots, I settled on these because of the price point and aesthetics. The newer front-zip boots are convenient, but these look a little nicer. Also, the laces enable you to adjust how tight they are, which is helpful when you're breaking them in or wearing them with lighter and/or heavier socks. I highly recommend these (and a pair of half chaps) to anyone who needs to reasonable riding boots.

These boots are beautiful! They are just what I was looking for. Except they did not have an interior zipper! So every time I need to get in and out of these boots, they would have to be laced manually! Most boots of this kind have the laces for show, but a zipper for functionality. It really does not help that the laces are leather which means they likely would not stay tied. That was a deal breaker! I am reluctantly sending them back.

I don't know if these are a good choice to ride in. The non slip soles are great for walking and everyday wear, but they would prevent your foot from releasing from the stirrup in case of an accident. The smooth leather soles are the best for safety reasons.

Used to love Ariat shoes for the excellent arch support. Arch is not as high as before and did not feel as good. These boots were not as shiny as the picture and the material on the cap toe was not the same as the rest of the boot. Very disappointed.

So cute and a great deal! It's narrow but I have narrow feet.

Best-fitting, most comfortable boot I've ever worn, hands-down. Never needed a bit of breaking in, I was able to wear them for a full day right out of the box. The interior padding in the collar is amazing. And the styling is just perfect. I only wish they came in a luggage brown, I'd snap up another pair.

First let me say that this is probably the 10th pair of Ariats I have purchased over the years. I do think that the quality did deteriorate to some degree when the original owners sold the company, but Ariat still makes a terrific paddock boot. I currently have two pair of this style, one I wear around the barn and another that I wear to work in a business office. I severely broke my ankle many years ago and then also strained a tendon in the other ankle, so good foot bed and ankle support are a must for me, and the Ariat paddock lace-up styles work well for me. I will say that the leather in my 10-year old pair of Heritage paddock boots is better than what was used in the pair purchased most recently, and I am finding that it is taking a few wearings to break in the leather of this new boot. Still, I will stay with Ariat, as the value for the price suits my needs.

I have been wearing this style for riding for the last 15 years. Great support, comfortable and durable. I find it interesting that so many people are wearing them for reasons other than riding. They are a cute boot at a reasonable price.

These are comfortable walking boots. It seems like they get better after a bit of wear.

I walk everywhere, and these are my favorite shoes. I am on my 2nd pair. Can't wait to get my brand new 3rd pair. I have fallen arches, so I need excellent heel and arch support, and these ate the best. Super comfortable fresh out of the box.

The stretchy material around the top of this boot really adds to the comfort. They are so cute! I watched the video and was sold!

Very soft, pliable leather. Comfortable, good arch support. I have wide feet and ordered a half size larger, which fit well.

I'm usually a 9-9.5 and sometimes 8.5. I have very sensitive feet with extremely high arches. I was nervous to buy these, but I love love love them! The first time I put them on, I felt a horrible pain on the top of my foot (where the leather bends). I put them back in the box to return them. The next day, I decided to try them again. The pain wasn't anywhere near as severe. I did some researching and spoke to a woman who loved Ariats. She told me they will mold to my foot over time and to help it along, condition them and clean them. I took the plunge and wore them out. I will say, I did end up putting an insole (just the heel one), because the heel felt too hard. Ever since then, they felt like warm little clouds. I wore them to a Halloween party for 9 hours. 5-6 of those hours were spent on the dance floor. No pain. The next day I wore them all day. I also wore them every day at my office and no pain. Very glad I kept them. I hope they last as long as everyone keeps saying they last. :) Definitely get the heel insole by dr. Scholl's though.

awesome shoes, more comfortable than I expected it to be. strangely, they look stylish as well which i did not expect either.
