These boots are terrific. Very comfortable to wear all day. Extremely warm and easy to get on and off. I would highly recommend these boots.

This is an exceptional boot. Couple of really good and not so good things about it. First, the good things. If your foot is kind of wide, the rubber like toe box has some great flex. Second, the primaloft material on the inside is extremely soft and comfortable. The downside to that, it might start to smell sooner then others. Now, the not so good things. The heel cradle system is not the best. For me, the fit is kind of loose. My right foot is overpronated and requires a fairly stiff cradle system. 'Asolo' and 'La sportiva' do a great job with that. Although, they are not the cheapest brands. The other thing is the very top metal lacing hook. Its position is so high that when the shoe is tied up that high, the shoe lace can cross over the tongue and rub against your foot. Or, the tongue is just too short. Other than that, the boot is light, waterproof, warm, very comfortable, and very stylish! One more thing. I have kind of wide feet so I decided to go a half size up which fit very well. If your big toe is shorter than your next toe, your feet are probably not wide.
I'd also recommend:
Asolo, La sportiva, Lowa. Wide sizes available.

Warm and fairly comfortable boots. I got them for walking a few blocks from my vehicle to work where sometimes the sidewalks and parking lot is not shoveled for snow. They work for my purpose. I gave them 4 stars for comfort but they may get better with more use. Overall I am satisfied with these boots.

excellent craftsmanship! excepting only that the top lace lugs are too high, the tied laces can skip over the top of the tongue. so comfy, lined throughout the whole boot with fleece. very warm. the fit is slightly more snug than the hedgehog fastpack. if you have a hiking boot by nf that fits snug, you may want to go a half size up to accommodate a thick winter sock. im doubtful i will need a thick sock this winter in these. as warm as a sorel without the bulk. great support, the cradle feature is perfect, and they are nice and firm under the foot. best winter boot ive ever had.

Purchased before from an outlet, LOVED them, and apparently so did our dog, as one boot has disappeared. With winter approaching, we had to find them again!

Just use the boots for everyday use in wintery Minnesota. Very comfortable and stylish. They keep my feet warm and have good traction.

Most of the North Face shoes and boots that I have tried this season, have been sent most back. In general I have found them erratically sized, and mostly uncomfortable. These boots were exceptions to be sure. They were very comfortable even in my first wearing. I love these boots. I ordered half a size bigger than my usual, and that fit perfectly.

I got these boots for the style and realized I couldn't be rugged in them without the scuffs it made me want to buy another pair

I love these boots, even though I had to modify them a little. Took them on the manadnock trail in rain and snow, and not a problem. Easily wear them for eight hours.

I work construction in Utah. In the winter I need a waterproof, insulated boot that will be comfortable while on my feet for up to 10 hours a day.
I found that boot. Very comfortable with almost no break in period. 100% waterproof. Keeps my feet plenty warm.
However, the only thing I would recommend is more tread depth. Not much tread for a outdoor winter boot. The tread on these boots has already worn down substantially after only 3 months of use.
I realize I am wearing these boots every day but if they had deeper tread like some other boots on the market I could definitely get more miles out of them.
I hope this is read by the guys who design these boots because if they address the "wimpy'' tread on this otherwise GREAT boot I will continue to buy The North Face boots for a long time.

I recently purchased the men's snowsquall mid online, the Sunday before Christmas and was blown away on the free overnight delivery and received these boots within 2 days (just before Christmas). Boots were a little snug with an 11.5 with the insulation inside, so that was an easy exchange at the local North Face store (checked the site and store before venturing out to hold a size 12). These boots have amazing comfort and ankle support, along with being waterproof. ONLY downfall is their comfort range of -25?F (-32?C).
I attended the 2014 NHL Winter Classic in Ann Arbor, MI on New Year's Day of 2014 and actually bought these boots specifically for winter and wet conditions but especially for this event. Knowing I'd be outside for majority of the day (12pm - 6pm), 13 degree temps (not counting wind chill) and probably outside watching the game for 4-5 hrs, the comfort range ("zonal insulation") didn't hold up to my expectations. As the site states "Zonal insulation provides warmth where it's needed most (in the toes, instep and underfoot), and slightly less on the sides of the foot where there is less heat loss." 3 hrs into the game and weather, I felt like I needed feet warmers near my toes ( and that was with top of the line merino wool socks I usually wear snowboarding for hours in with no issues).
For my use, these boots are great, especially digging out of a Midwest snow storm. I found they are a little slick in certain conditions but great traction in most snow conditions, regardless what terrain I was walking in. Overall comfort and style/design are great but I don't believe they are rated for long outdoor periods (especially if you're sitting still at an event in the winter conditions).

Ordered these but had to send them back, too narrow for my foot. Loved the look of the boot and the comfort aside for it being narrow. I wish they made these in a wide width... Zappos is as always great with ordering and returns!

I love the looks of this boot. However, once I tried them on, they were way too narrow. After 5 minutes, my feet were throbbing from the tightness across the bridge of my foot. Typically, any shoe that's a 10.5 will fit me just fine, so I was disappointed to return them.

Warm, dry comfotable boots-but in less than a year, both boots have ripped between the upper and sole on the inside by the big toe where lots of bending occurs, rendering them water-sogged instead of water-proof.

I ordered about 7 different pairs of boots to compare side by side. These without a doubt run narrow. Style-wise, they're great. Would've been my first choice but even the 13's were too narrow. Bummer.

Boots were decent; warm and pretty comfortable. Just had one of the loops break, so effectively renders them useless. Never had a loop physically break off a shoe before. Disappointing.

I love North Face products, and had my last pair of North Face boots for well over 5 years. I bought these because they are similar to the ones I got before. After wearing them for a day, they had bruised my feed. The way the rubber toe bends it forces a very hard crease into my toes. It got to the point that I cannot walk in them they hurt so badly. Luckily, the North Face store helped me exchange them to get a different style of boots.

I live in Denver , Co and wanted a boot to wear around town when we get snow. I bought them from a local big box sports chain at the beginning of the year. I might of worn them 10 times at the most since purchase. Today I was lacing them up to run out into the 6 inches of snow we got this weekend. One of the eyelets popped off while lacing, and another did while I was cleaning off my truck. I'll be going back to merrell's.
