I just got back from a 9-day trip to Rome, walking my way through cobble-stone streets, up and down many hills, under the beating sun, and walking for the major part of every day. I didn't break these in before I went: painful mistake, as the first day of moderate walking from Termini to Piazza Repubblica found my feet feeling like knives were stabbing into the toe joints! I realized that these needed to be broken in, and by the second day, far less pain, which faded altogether on the 3rd day. They're ok, though not the most comfortable nor the most supportive shoe I've worn. I honestly wonder if a good ol' pair of running shoes might have done just as well. But as I got these in black, and wore them mostly with black leggings (nobody wears boot-cut slacks anymore in Rome. :( I fit right in with the Europeans. And, in the mornings when I'd put these on, I knew I'd be ready to face whatever ancient terrain awaiting my days' touring. Not the best shoe, but pretty good.

I am very pleased with these shoes. I have a very narrow heel and these shoes fit just right. They are still comfortable after wearing them all day.

I really wanted to love this shoe. I wear an 11W, but the wide width of this shoe was not quite wide enough - felt tight across the ball of my foot. Overall comfort was excellent, however.

Left and right shoe do not have the same width/volume. Right shoe is more roomy. My feet are the same size so I know it's the shoes. I needed the shoes NOW so couldn't return and am living with it. Maybe the left will stretch over time?

I have average feet with high arches, these felt great right out of the box, but luckily I left them on while watching tv and both feet fell asleep! Although they didn't feel narrow, they were! Had to exchange for a wide, I NEVER wear wides. Now they are nice and comfy. I wear between a 7.5 and 8, but bought the 8 wide. The red color is actually a rusty red, didn't like, traded for grey, much better. Black looked too orthopedic.

They were just too small for me in the toe box. I have one foot slightly larger than the other. Other than that they felt great.

Oddly, the sizing/width isn't consistent among the different colors of the Clark Wave.Trek. I ordered a 9M in black and a 9M in brown. The black was significantly tighter through the toe box. But it did come with an extra pair of fancy shoelaces! I guess I'll try a 9W in black and see how I do.

I am glad that I got these for this price. At the Clarks outlet. I had to get them in a 10, though I usually wear a 9½. I was disappointed by the lack of arch support. I like the suede, could like without the turquoise accents. They are light weight but have thick, rocker soles so you have a sure foot. They have poor arch support, and are too narrow. I am hoping that they stretch out some.

This is an attractive shoe to wear with jeans. I ordered it because I wanted an alternative to clunky running shoes that I have to wear for plantar fasciitis. The shoe was just what I hoped for except that the right shoe actually caused my foot to pronate inward and (though I usually wear a Narrow) these shoes were too narrow to wear with a woolen sock.

I found these at the Clark's outlet, which was great. I wear a 9.5 usually, but I had to go for a 10 because they do run small. I wish I had read all of the reviews because after wearing them for two days they are a little pinching. I think because they also are a little too narrow. I hope they stretch out a bit.

Ordered the size 7 wide. They felt more like a 7, regular width. I'm returning them. They are nice looking though. Luckily it's so easy to return shoes through Zappos.

I really like these shoes and they fit well and look great. The only drawback is that they are a bit low and, so, don't provide the ankle support I really need for hiking and trekking.

Very comfortable, but the color is a much quieter burnt orange, not bright at all as pictured here.

These shoes are definitely very attractive. They are rugged, yet feminine. They fit my feet perfectly and are pretty comfortable. They are very comfortable actually, but after I have them on your feet a few hours, my arches ache. I do not normally have this problem with other shoes, so it has something to do with its arch support or possibly the soles being too soft. Speaking of softness, if you are looking for stability these are not the shoes for you. They are not going to make you unstable or anything, but I definitely notice the fact that they are not stable like sneakers. There is no ankle support obviously because they are short. One last gripe is breathability. These shoes do not breathe at all. I do not normally have sweaty feet, again I am comparing them to other shoes here. When I take these off at the end of my 10 hour office day, my feet are wet from the moisture. Even in the winter. Overall I still love these shoes because they are so cute! Maybe as I wear them more I will get used to it. I recommend these shoes if style is your first concern, but if you have posture of feet issues, I am not sure that this would be a wise idea.

Beautiful, beautiful shoe. Unfortunately, "wide" is standard width and not actually wide. Moreover, the body of the shoe is not very tall, so my foot with high arches was very uncomfortable. So sad -- I really wanted these shoes!! These shoes are well made in addition to beautiful, and the soles are supportive and cozy, so I imagine that if you have narrow, flat feet, these would be your dream shoes.

Well, upon reading the reviews I was hooked on giving this a try. When I received it and took it out of the box. I was impressed with the overall construction. This is a very well made solid shoe. However, when I tried it on it seemed restrictive and narrow. I thought maybe it needed to be broken in, so i walked around the neighborhood in it. After a month or so. I still don't feel comfortable in this shoe after wearing it my feet actually hurt. After a total inspection of the shoe, I realized that the last in this shoe is straight. well my foot last is curved causing conflict when I would walk, thus the pain. in short I have an arch and these shoes are mainly for those who have flat feet (no arch). I do recommend these shoes they over an abundance of support and cushioning. Would have given it a 5 had I know about the last. I will be returning them.

I really wanted to like this shoe. My husband do a lot of muddy trekking in the fall and I needed a water-resistant sturdy shoe. Alas the wide wasn't wide enough in the toe box and was a little loose in the heel. Otherwise, a very cute shoe, especially the matching laces and trim!

This shoe is lightweight, attractively designed and, in red, is one I really wanted to keep. But, the toe box is narrow and would not be comfortable for walking. Had the toe box was wider (I'm a B width with AA heel) it would have been a perfect shoe.

I was looking for acceptable work shoes that would also accommodate my athletic orthotics, because I am having a problem my my ankle tendon and need more ankle support. These shoes were close, but after wearing them around for an extended period, I had a lot of foot pain. Thank you, Zappos, for letting me send these back. They are cute and I would have liked to keep them, but foot pain trumps all.

These are very comfortable right out of the box. The only drawback is the color is listed as red - and they are more of a rust brown. I had wanted for the summer but they are more of a fall color.

Great shoe. Very comfortable but not as much as the Waves I had before. Better looking. Changed the cute laces to plain black so I can wear to work. Walk half mile from parking to my office each way. Up and down stairs. Long twelve hour days. Fine for the short walk, but feet get tired sometimes. Will buy again.

Toe area is a little too narrow, had to return for a wide. Great looking shoe with good arch support. If you're going to wear this shoe for hiking in summer when feet swell I would order the wide.

Nearly perfect. This is a really comfortable shoe. In the two weeks since I've had them, these are the shoes I've put on for casual wear. I've taken several 3-5 mile walks in them and they really feel good on my feet. My only problem is the narrow width slips a little bit on my heels. So far, though, it hasn't caused any blisters or discomfort. Maybe a little bit of movement isn't really a problem. Happily, the trim on the navy shoe is more of a light gray than the white that I expected. Before purchasing this shoe I had returned the Merrell Mimosa Lace. That shoe was one that I wanted to work - it's such a nice looking shoe - but it rubbed under my ankles. I'm so glad that I found this Clarks alternative because it looks even better and is way more comfortable. Zappos is great to purchase from. I love the service. The color and size I needed were out of stock when I first saw the shoe, but I requested to be informed of when it was in. Once the email came, I purchased them the same day and had them the next.

This shoe is very comfortable. There is a tiny amount of rubbing as my heel slides slightly, but not enough to cause a blister (and my heels blister very easily). If I ordered the next size down, my toes would rub. I wore them shopping recently and after a long day of being on my feet and they still felt great at the end of the day. My orthotics fit inside this shoe. They have become my go-to shoe. They look great with jeans and khaki's. I would love to purchase them in a couple of different colors.

I love the way these shoes look. Very stylish, much less clunky than standard tennis shoes. Just cute. I bought them to wear when visiting NYC. I knew I'd be walking a lot - as much as my feet would allow - and did not want to brand myself as a tourist in my clunky, though supportive, New Balance running shoes. Unfortunately, they were not as comfortable for walking as I'd like. I have a wide foot, have no trouble admitting it, and bought the W version of the shoe. I'm able often to buy a standard width in Keen's or Ahnu and get away with it, but these Clarks, even in the W, were too narrow for my foot. After 3 days in NYC, my feet were pretty miserable and I reverted to the tennis shoes (which I brought just in case). I will continue to wear the Clarks around the house, to the grocery store, etc where I want a sturdy, comfortable shoe, but I can no longer rely them on them as serious footwear. I wish this shoe could be made for truly wide feet: wider in the toes and higher in the toe box.
