I have worn this last for several years and they are always comfortable. This is my first pair with a velcro closure. They are very convenient. However there are two construction problems. The velcro straps are not mounted so that they point directly at the slot opening. As a result, when closed, there is a slight bulge at the attachment point. No one will notice but I consider it a construction error. The second problem is more irritating. the sole not the left shoe squeaks when I walk. A comfortable shoe with some quality problems.

Where the tongue was sewn on has extra material that presses down on my toes which is painful after a long day on my feet.

I got these shoes as they were recommended by my orthopedic. I got wide first, but returned them for 2e. Still a little narrow, but decided to keep them. The left shoe is pretty good, but for some reason the tongue on the right shoe isn't centered and digs into my foot. I had a stroke and need a brace on my left leg, but I walk a little better without the brace with these shoes.

2nd pair I bought. 1st was tight do to being small although I ordered the size I have always bought. This time I ordered 1 size larger and ee and it is fine.

Followed Bean's suggestion/recommendation to UPSIZE by 1/2 size. Fit would have been adequate--and perhaps more satisfactory--WITHOUT size increase. Otherwise satisfactory quality and build.

I really have not worn them much yet, but they seem to be a good fit. I had to get these to replace some 475s that I currently wear.

The MW577 is a great shoe and very comfortable when walking on level trails or sidewalks, and even slight inclines on mountain trails, but the bottom is smooth and it slips on steep climbs and descents, and is not advisable for rock hopping (e.g. along ocean jetties). I chose them because they are good quality and they come in width 4E, which is important for my shoes. I use hiking boots for steep or slippery surfaces.

I like the 577 because it fits well (4E), and is easy to put on and tighten. I only wish this style shoe came in brown and black. Then I could have a pair for different occasions.

Very comfortable. I would not recommend these shoes for someone with a high instep because the straps do not fasten well for someone like me who has a high instep.

I'd previously purchased the black version of these shoes, and think they're pretty great. But, for walking in the summer, I thought the black might be too hot... so I purchased these white ones. Man, are these things bright white. There's absolutely nothing design-wise to break up the whiteness of these shoes. I tried them on in my house, and as expected found them very comfortable... but I just couldn't get past the color, even inside. So the shoes went back to LL Bean, and I replaced them with the New Balance 608v4. If the color doesn't bother you, these shoes are great. If you can handle a glaringly white shoe, I highly recommend these. I love the fit and comfort, I love the hook-and-loop closures - I just can't handle the color.

These sneakers are comfortable right out of the box. The Velcro straps are secure and make these sneakers very easy to put on and take off. This feature is very useful when you go through the check in line at the airport. I highly recommend these sneakers for the quality, convenience and comfort.

I have 2 EE and 2 EEEE 577 NB pairs of shoes, and the strap hook length on the EEs reaches the loop section fine. On the EEEEs the hooks barely reach the loops. The measured lengths of the strap, the hook and the loop areas are the same. Apparently there is something about the wider EEEE shoe making the distance needed for full hook to loop attaching inadequate. The something must be the EEEE is just wider at the top. The EEEE needs a longer strap to hook on better.

These shoes are quite comfortable. I have my own orthotic inserts, AND I wear thick socks, so I got wide shoes (mail-order). Alas, the upper hook-and-loop strap just barely connects with itself when closing. Could be accounted for in manufacture of wide models. BUT, they are comfortable and made right here in Maine. I'm hoping the leather will stretch and they'll adjust a bit, so I don't have to pull 'em so tight.

Then straps seem to be a slight bit short on these walking shoes. I noticed it on the llast pair that we pourchased.

Shoes are very comfortable and easy to get on and off, I wear them winter and summer. I have purchased a pair or two every year for the last four years.However they are advertised to be waterproof. If I walk across the yard with a dew on, my socks get wet. I wish they were waterproof, especially in the winter, but I will continue to buy them. They are the most comfortable shoes I own.

Husband said they are fine, fit good and are reasonably comfortable. That's not bad considering that his feet hurt all the time! He also said that nothing is "excellent." So that's why the "good" rating.

My third pair over a longish period and all have been comfortable and last a reasonably long time,. They are used regularly.

I purchased these shoes for my grandson. He needs wide widths and often has difficulty finding shoes that fit- These fit him perfectly right out of the box and he's been wearing them daily every since receiving them.
