Normally, I've heard, New Balance shoes tend to run a little big. Not the 577's. I had to return the first pair (easy) and order a half size larger. Found the new shoes to be a comfortable, very supportive walking shoe, and so much easier than lace-up models to put on and take off! This is my first velcro shoe, and definitely won't be my last!

I purchased these walking shoes for my 75 year old father who is unable to bend over to tie his shoes. He loves them because he can just slide his feet into them! Great quality too!

As a senior, I do walking for exercise and find this a good fit. The arch support with the solid heel helps make the walking easier.

I buy this model repeatedly as it has the perfect fit for me. In addition the Velcro straps make it easy for arthritic hands to seal the shoe.

As a person with Psorsica arthritis in my feet, i have to wear shoes that support them. If I could make one option is for them to come in blue and make the top strap a little longer. I am on Medicare and I saw on the web site that I can get help with them. It takes me months to save to get them and any help would be a plus for me.

Online order did not work out for me; however, the in store purchase worked very well. Mostly due to sizing. Lesson learned feet change and proper fitting gives great results.

These shoes saved my husbands toes and feet. When you have neuropathy and can't tie your laces these shoes are a God send! They are comfortable from first wear. They are easy to put on and take off. Highly recommend. We purchased 10W. True to size. Arrived within a few days by UPS.

I've lost count how many pairs of this exact shoe I've worn; I wear them constantly and usually buy a new pair every year. I'm not a flashy person, so the subdued "bone" color suits me well and goes acceptably with my clothes. They're fine for walking and provide just the right amount of arch support for my "flat feet". The only caution is that I consistently order them a half-size larger than I would other shoes (in my case, 7.5 instead of 7), which is in line with guidance I've received in the past and which gives me a good fit (and it's not a function of the socks).
I'd also recommend:
None. It's New Balance or nothing.

Perfect fit, hook & loop easy to secure, and shoes arrived quickly from time of order to delivery to my residence. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase and I would recommend these shoes for daily walks.

My mother has problems tying her laces. these shoes are great for her. All she has to bend down and Velcro the straps down. I wish they had more colors. I love to see red or blue.

I'm 73 and have neuropathy and arthritis. Additionally I wear a EEE width size 11. Its important st this s tage of my life to find comfort over style in footwear. These shoes are very comfortable. Have velcro closures and look fine to me. Bottom line is simple: They are affordable, comfortable and perfect for my old feet.

I wear these shoes because I have had two hip replacements and suffer chronic back pain, and the straps instead of laces on these make putting on and securing each shoe much easier. This is the THIRD pair of these I have bought, and I can't say enough good things about them. I purchase a half size up from my usual shoe size, and the fit is perfect. I'll be back for more!

I have had 5 pairs of this shoe. They are extremely comfortable & hard wearing. Perfect to walk in! Bonus that you don't have to tie/untie laces, but still fit perfectly well with the straps. I can get the fit I need to wear with my orthotics. (It's always good to get a fitting at a store first). I HIGHLY recommend this leather upper shoe that is ideal for walking.

The 577 is the greatest show I've ever bought - perfect fit and comfort to wear all day. Much better than the 813 hook & loop because loops are too long and style isn't as nice. I bought the 813 because I needed the light gray color. Sure wish they made the 577 in the grey color and hope NB considers it at some point.

Perfect fit for my perfect husband. These are my husbands go to sneakers, he wears them all the time daily when he needs to be casual. For dress up occasions he wears his black ones. He has problems walking and he tells me they are so comfortable and offer him the support he needs. As we age, the velcro closure becomes more and more necessary. Just ordered 3 pair of the white ones - got a great sale price so I bought all you had. Its not easy finding a size 14, 4extra wide. Can always depend on Zappos to have what he needs.

So comfortable, so supportive for a bigger guy. The black can pass as a work shoe. The white are beautiful and go well with shorts or jeans. Best fit I've ever had. Soft but firm support in all of the right areas.
