No jeans fit me better. Zappos had them for a good price and free next day shipping. One small item of note, one pair was missing the Levis logo on the red tab on the back pocket. Otherwise both pairs were perfect, so I don't think these were seconds, one pair just had a small factory flaw. I didn't contact Zappos about this, as I didn't think it warranted a return.

I have never bought a pair of jeans offline before which left me feeling afraid they wouldn't fit properly (common problem for me). Nonetheless, I was excited when they arrived the next evening and was surprised they fit! I wear a size 29 to 30 in the waist and 34 to 36 in length and the jeans still fit perfectly anyway. I proceeded to purchase more in different dyes and they all look amazing. I don't advise washing them to often. I plan on dry cleaning them in the future.

I just shrunk my jeans last night. I must say: these jeans are incredible. I have trouble finding jeans that fit my body, and these fit amazingly. They're a bit rigid and starchy now, but I know that will get better with time. The color is a beautiful dark indigo, and the style on these is top-notch. I will definitely be buying more!

I have been in desperate need of pants for a while, and being a poor college student, it's difficult for me to justify spending so much money on a pair of jeans. However, from the reviews it seemed like there was no match for the quality and durability of these things, so, when a sale came up, I dropped fifty dollars on these. I was skeptical at first, but from the moment they arrived, I was sold. These are, without a doubt, the most comfortable and well-fitting jeans I've ever owned. They're raw denim, so they're heavy duty, and I've been wearing them every day for about a month with no visible wear, and every day I wear them they form more and more to my body. (Levis actually advises against machine washing) the amount of money I spent on these could have easily got me two pairs of lower quality Levis, but you're really paying for quality and durability when you buy these. It's worth it, especially in the long run.

Love this company...shipping and return policy the best out there. Prices are fair. Shipping is immediate in most cases. Phone assistance is excellent. You have to allow for shrinkage on the shrink to fit items, and that is an individual thing. Waist usually plus 2", length 2-3" depending on your taste.

Just discovered these bad boys. I'm an odd size 35x31 and you can't get odd sizes in normal jeans, but 36x34 STF's get me the best fitting jeans I can buy. Like one dude said don't make it complicated, I do an initial soak to wash out most of starch and excess dye then throw in washer and dryer for a couple of cycles to wash out newness. Then wear and enjoy, they will only get better with time.

I bought these for my boyfriend, they are his favorite jean's. He has been wearing Levi's brand forever. I have to say they do make him look hot.

I bought three pairs, they all varied in size. Each pair has there own personality. You can wash and dry and break them in as needed to get the right fit. Just like the jeans you had when you were a kid. Would recommend.

My super slim adult son loves these jeans. He's a 27 X 32 and just as the description reads (guaranteed to shrink!), he washed the 28 X 34 and they fit him perfectly. Thanks for offering this item.

Great service from Zappos, but won't purchase stf Levis again. After much research about getting the right fit on these i bought a 35w 35l. I normally wear a 34w 32l and love my 501s. But I could not get these to shrink! I soaked them in hot water twice, and then even soaked them while wearing them in the tub in lukewarm water, washed them in the machine hot cycle and air dried, then tub soaked again in hot water and threw them in the dryer. Now they are still too big and the finish is a corny royal blue. Plus, the classic Levis tag on the back tore off. I now have a pair of crappy generic jeans. No sir, I do not like it.

I can't pretend to be a long-time wearer of Levi’s STFs, just a recent convert. Despite Levi's recommendation of ordering a size large on the waist, don't do it! After shrinking, they'll shrink an inch, but it'll stretch right back out, so it's best to stick with whatever you normally wear in Levi’s. Do order at least two inches long on the inseam, though, since that will shrink significantly and won't go back. After that? Just wear them, and the rest will happen over time.

I love these jeans. I wear them while riding my motorcycle. They provide durability and protection. My advice is to not wash them. Ever.

These can be the best jeans you ever owned if you are willing to do a little work. I took a hot shower with these on then wore them until they are dry. They fit okay before, but now they fit perfectly and are super comfortable despite how stiff and rigid they are to the touch. I haven't washed them yet, but I plan to wear them as long as possible between hand washing for maximum comfort and so they naturally distress with a good amount of contrast.

I wore this pants when I was younger and as I got older, I wasn't able to find my size, so I tried other brands, but none were as comfortable. Now that I found that Casual Male XL has my size, I won't wear any other jean!

I have always enjoyed the feel and fit of Levi's 501 Shrink-to-Fit. Zappos had the best price around, and I decided to try them. I got these jeans as a gift. Here in Zappos they have the best deal, fast and free shipping and a lot of sizes and colors.

There are a couple different ways you can approach making these jeans your own. If you want to keep the dark color and customize the fading, then buy 1 size larger in the waist and 2 to 3 in the length; soak in hot water and hang to dry a couple times to shrink; wear as long as possible without washing, then soak and hang dry. It will take some time to soften. If you want wash and wear: for a close fit buy 1 up in waist and 2 to 3 in length; for a slightly relaxed fit go up 2 in the waist. They'll still conform to you, but may take a bit longer. I live in Alaska and hang drying takes forever in the winter. I keep a couple going in each fit. I wash everything in cold and dry on medium (perm press) at the warmest. I've been wearing Levi's 501 for more than 35 years and am hooked on the buttom fly. Started buying the prewashed, but Levi's changed the fit a few years ago and the STF seem better. I'm female and these fit better and last longer than women's jeans. I HATE stretch denim.

I've been wearing Levis 501 jeans since 1985 and have always wore the same size both waist and length. I ordered my usual 32X32 and they were extremely high watered in length. I sent back with the free shipping and got 32X33. When I received them they were too short also. Sent back one more time and got 32X34 which fit as as my old 32X32 in length but one pair was about an inch wrong (small) in waist size even though it showed 32 waist. I kept anyway. Not sure whether it is Levis who is inconsistent now days or whether it was Zappos batches of Levis.

These are the ones that you shrink in hot water to get to your size. You end up with a solid pair of classic Levis' jeans that are hard-wearing. No zipper. They come with a button-fly. Too-bad you can't get them in the 505 style like this too (i.e. shrink-to-fit.) Quality is generally good. Seems like quality is dependent in which country they're made in.
