I’ve worn the same levi’s for 50 years

I like the classic look and fit of Levi’s 501’s. The shrink to fit style has a vintage look and feel. Fit is comfortable and have worn it almost everyday for almost two weeks to break it in without having to wash it.

I have a small waist (30) in the majority of pants with vanity sizing. Technically my waste is 32, like most advertised 30 waist pants. Anyway, my advice is get your normal size. If you wear a 30 in Levi's then get a 30. The larger the pants, the more the shrinkage, so that rule may not apply if you're a 38, for instance, but I know nothing about that. . With that size, the waste shrinks a hair but stretches back out after an hour of wearing. Buy 2 inch minimum longer in length. The 8 inch pant leg opening is how all jeans should be. Good pants if you want a slim fit but have big calves and most slim fitting pants are like a Chinese finger trap on your calves. After having really nice selvedge denim, however, the quality of these jeans is crap in comparison. But for 40 bucks, you can't really go wrong... But I'll never pay more than 40 for them. . I always soak them by themselves in bath tub with scalding water and dry hot in dryer, before I wear them. If I like the way they shrunk, they will never go in a dryer again. Otherwise I wear them till dirty and then repeat that scalding water and then hot dryer process until they've shrunk enough. If they shrink "too much" they will stretch back out where they need to to be comfortable. Wash them rarely after that and hang dry. I dislike when you get too much color bleeding and the white weft gets stained the warp color. Eventually with wear, that sorts itself out tho.. but I try to avoid that from happening by not putting them in the actual washing machine. Even during the shrinking process, I do it by hand in the tub.

Been wearing the same 501STF Levi's for 30 years. Wear like iron, wash twice before first wearing and go from there. Buy 3 or 4 at a time.

Everything is great Best jeans I've ever worn. Too bad that their not made in America. I think these jeans are all I will wear the rest of my life. 501 shrink to fit are the best, and last the longest.

These are the most comfortable best fitting jeans I haver ever owned. I can not say enough about them. I will never wear any other jeans.

I've been wearing button fly shrink to fit 501s for over 40 years. They are the best. They last for years, they are just classic goodness. After about 3 years of wash and wear, they get even better. They actually increase in value with fading and wear. My kids compliment me on my jeans. The only problem is if you put on weight before they reach their faded peak. I guess you could sell them for more than what you paid for them new. Just rip a couple holes in them and add even more value.

I can't figure out what's wrong with these Levis. My husband has always worn 33x34 501 shrink-to-fit Levis. I ordered his usual size but these never shrunk in the length. They are at least 4 inches too long after being washed and dried two times.

Just what I expected from Levi’s. I have always love wearing Levi’s....the thing is that they don’t make 100% cotton for women anymore. I’m tired of having everything stretch. Yes! I’m a 60 yr old grandmother n I still Love Levi’s!!

Always the best pair of black ridged pants. I buy my size to fit with no shrinking. No machine wash just dry clean if needed. Keeps its look for years ! Just wish they made these in the bootcut 517 ...

I am a 39 year old, 5’10” mother of two and I weigh 165-170. I love these jeans so much. I hate stretchy fabrics, because inevitably the stretchy part stops springing back and you just have baggy pants. It is hard to find 100% cotton jeans unless you go super premium (I have) or super low end (they need too many alterations to fit). Levis hit the sweet spot in between those two options perfectly. That being said, I think it would be more accurate to call these stretch to fit instead of shrink to fit. At first, they were super tight. But, the longer I wear them, the fabric gives way to my shape. It has been a couple of years since I got my first pair, and they just get better and better. I have a 34” inseam. The pair of 501s I wear most are size 30x36. After shrinkage, the length is about 1/2” too long. I just cuff them most days and they’re perfect down when I wear heels. I also have a 31x30 pair. They are capri length on me. With no stretch in the fabric, I like the slightly looser fit for the warm season when I’m more likely to be sitting on a picnic blanket, or playing at the park with my kids. My usual waist size is 30-31, so it might be helpful to note that I did not have to adjust my waist size at all for s-t-f. I machine wash them on cold and hang dry. I used a seam ripper to remove the decorative stitching on the pockets. If you do this before wearing or washing the jeans, the holes easily disappear. I also removed the belt loops on the “capri” pair, because the fit is perfect. They do not stretch out in the waist or the seat and get saggy, no matter how many times I wear them without washing. So, I never need to wear a belt. I don’t have any idea how they fit men, but they are the best option anywhere for me!
