The Asics Gel-Kahana 6 shoes started falling apart after approximately 75 miles of trail running! Where the sole wraps over the top of the shoe, that started coming loose on both shoes. Stitching on the inner side of the left shoe started unraveling. The worst though was that on the right shoe part of the tread broke off! I'm disappointed in the poor quality because I really liked these shoes for their good arch support, good friction, and comfort while running mountain trails. However, they obviously aren't designed to handle rugged terrain for trail running.

The writer who referenced this shoe being stiff was absolutely right! This shoe is hard and stiff and so uncomfortable. I wanted some shoes so badly and thought that maybe if I could wear them a little while I could 'break them in'. Such a waste of money! I wish I had returned them from the start. Leave your feet hurting -- I haven't found that they are good for anything. Not running (too clunky, heavy and stiff), not walking -- went to Legoland and my feet were killing me within 30 minutes. Not working out either. These shoes suck!

Beware! I've owned many pairs of asics and therefore was not paying enough attention to the actual fit of these when I first put them on. I wore them on many long walks for several months until I developed a pain in my right foot. I happened to be wearing them when I went to see my doctor about it, and it was actually he who noticed how narrow they were. As soon as I stopped wearing them, my foot began to recover. This is the exact thing one worries about when buying shoes on line! I do it all the time, but just remember to be vigilant re fit, even when buying a generally trusted brand.

ASICS sneakers usually work out for me. With all ASICS I have to get a half size larger and go with a wide, and this was no exception. Actually these could have been wider. The right shoe fit okay, though it was narrow. But the left shoe felt taller than the right, like there was bump under my toes. I must have gotten a defective pair, so unfortunately I had to send them back.

I bought the shoes for my daughter, after one training began unraveling seams of shoes, and a huge disappointment. I will not buy such shoes ever again.

Okay, I own the original Gel Kahana and they are size 8 medium and fit perfectly and I still have them and I still wear them. I bought the 8 wides just to be on the safe side and they are too narrow and too short. They are not as comfortable as my original pair either. I also hate the neon orange with the regular grey. They are going back.
