This is my second pair of Inov-8 shoes, the first were the BARE-XF 210. I use them for CrossFit and love them. Perfect for burpees, double-unders olympic lifts, rope climbing and running. Even has a reinforced toe fabric for wall walks and such. Much more versatile than the 210 which I really didn't like for running at all. I love putting these on. Ultra-lightweight and breathable The sole seems to be holding up fairly well even after several WODs including rope climbing. I highly recommend for any CrossFitter.

I really like these shoes. I ordered half size smaller as other reviews indicated, but I had to return them for my normal size. I have fairly flat feet, though. If you have narrow feet, you may get away with it. The sole is very thin (by design), so I personally wouldn't run in them or wear them walking around for extended periods of time outside the gym. Also beware of walking through puddles any deeper than a couple of centimeters. Lateral support is great for plant/pivot type agility stuff. Once I got used to the thin soles, they are great.

I bought these to replace my running shoes as I'd been adding much more plyometric exercise to my repertoire, and the lateral stability on these is fantastic. They're also lighter than my running shoes which is a boon for all the jumping, and their sole is skinnier which is forcing me to work on my balance. I'm loving it.

Best CrossFit shoes I own, period. I have a pair of custom Reebok xFit shoes and New Balance Minimas. The NB shoes are great for traveling, but overall comfort and versatility easily go to my inov-8's. They are very flexible but also a decent heel for oly. Highly recommend.

If you like the 230s, you'll probably dig these more. I don't care so much about the rope climbing tech, but the improvements to the sole, outer and toe portion of the shoe are good. I use these primarily for CrossFit, but also run and play in them too.

I previously had the inov-8 F-Lite 230s. I used this shoe for Crossfit only. It was a great shoe, but after I wore it out (the toe started to come apart -- almost a year after wearing them every day) I wanted to try this one as I heard it was an updated version of the 230. I must say, the 240 is a bit nicer, as it has the rope-tec, which doesn't hurt, and seems a little more cushy (but that could just be because my others were so worn out). The stability for lifting is still excellent but does give me cushion for the running segments and the jumping, without sacrificing a stable base. So far, my only complaint is with the shoe laces. The 230s never came untied, ever. These are a mess. They're thinner laces and have more elastic in them. All that's fine if they would just stay tied. I double and triple knotted these and they still don't stay. Furthermore, during all those double unders the stupid laces get caught in the rope. How does that even happen...oh that's right, they're too long and don't stay tied. All that said, these are the perfect Crossfit shoe as far as I can see. Of note, I tried the female only Inov-8 249s. The sizing did not match the unisex sizing listed for women (I know, that sounds obvious, but in unisex I'm a women's 8.5 and you would think the women's only version would still be an 8.5 -- wrong, they were a size too small). Sizing problems aside, I felt the shoe was less stable than the 230 or 240. I felt I was rolling my feet outward just standing there. I did not test this type further after feeling it wasn't a good lifting platform like the 240s or the 230s.

Love this shoe for Crossfit and just wearing with a pair of jeans. They are incredibly light, yet offer a lot of support. While, i'd say the Reebok Nanos are probably more durable than these though.

This is the best cross training/CrossFit shoe I have ever worn. The best ever. Last pair lasted a year. I'm 235lbs. And I beat the crap out of my shoes. Just ordered another set.

Started my CrossFit journey with inov-8 195s 3 years ago. Had great success with the 230s as well. These 240s are the most comfortable inov-8s so far. Compare to the Reebok Nano-3 and Nano-4, the inov-8 240 is narrower across the toe box. This suits my feet much better than the Reeboks which are much wider in the same area.

I am very picky about shoes. I bought these to wear during crossfit WODs after seeing a lot of people in my gym wearing them. After wearing them for a month, I see why everyone wears them. These are the most comfortable, most versatile shoes I have ever worn. They are flexible and light enough for box jumps and firm enough to give a good base for squats and deadlifts. The wide toe box gives you room to spread out on the heavy lifts. I will say that these shoes are probably not meant for long runs. Anything over a mile and I would switch to my newtons or my new balances. But for daily WOD's where you don't know whats coming, I think I am probably an Innov8 customer for life.

Really love these shoes. Great upgrade from the F-lite 230s. Fit true to size. They are lightweight and great for Crossfit workouts, running, or just hanging around in. My favorite shoes.

Bought for CrossFit as many of my gym members love the Innov8 shoes. I have been using the old NanoSpeeds which were discontinued. I wear a 14 in Reebok, Nike, and Brooks. These were too small all around. Tighter toe box as well. I ordered the UK13/US14 and couldn't use them. I have heard good things about the New Balance Minimal Trainers as well and might try those out next. Thank you Zappos for easy exchanges. You get all of my athletic shoe purchases now.

Husband loves these more than any other shoe he's worn. Wore them for CrossFit for a year (and a lot of other places, too) and they started to wear out, so we just ordered the exact same pair. I am so happy they were still here so I didn't have to go through the whole ordeal of finding shoes he likes again!

I just receivied these in the mail (thank you Zappos!) and tried them on for size. I have pretty wide, flat feet so I was worried these would be too narrow but that's not the case at all. The material has a lot of stretch so they're actually quite comfortable. Like others, I went a size down (normally 8.5, went down to 8) and am glad I did as these are plenty big with some wiggle room near the toes. I went with the bright blue color as that's all they had in my size at this time. It's BRIGHT but that's sort of in nowadays anyways right? Will give these the true test tomorrow during my P90X3 workout but I'm confident these will work out well for my needs.

Perfect for D1 - athletic drills on artificial turf. Love them. Light weight. Not sure they would be so great for group fitness like boxing or step. But perfect for what I do. Fit like a glove.

I have 4 pair of the f-lite 240s. That should say something about them. So many trainers have that big wedge heel, which I find uncomfortable. These have a small wedge shape. I also find that so many sneakers are too wide; these are nice and slim and fit me well. These are great for working out, cardio, cycling, and walking. They are also very lightweight and don't drag me down. I highly recommend these shoes.

This shoe is awesome! I ordered this shoe in a US 14 and it was a hair too small. I own 3 pair of 230's in the same size so I figured it was this particular shoe. I exchanged them for the exact same shoe and size and they fit perfectly! The shoe feels great and looks great! I wear them 3 seasons out of 4 outdoors and all year round indoors.

I love inov-8s, and got these only because my other black pair (with purple and teal) were completely worn out. As a 54 yo female crossfitter, this color ends up being my least favorite, 'cause it's hard to match the red and blue with cute clothes!

I'm a die hard fan of another shoe brand but thought I would try these because I liked the style. Imagine my surprise when I put them on. Oh so comfortable!!! Truly awesome. I walk in them just about everyday now. And I just ordered another pair in a different color.

I have owned these for about six weeks now, doing six WODs in them per week and they are in great shape. Incredibly comfortable, fits perfect to the size shoe I normally wear. I would definitely buy them again...and likely will when I need another pair.

I recently started crossfit and found that my high-ankle support running shoes seemed to be getting in the way of my workout (poor traction on crossfit floor, too much cushion for lifts and inability to grip ropes with my feet). After some research, I settled on trying out the inov-8 240s. I previously have needed a great deal of ankle support in my running shoes but since starting crossfit I have been able to increase my ankle strength and adjust my horrendous heel-strike (I say this because if you wear highly correcting shoes be careful switching to a minimalist shoe, this was a major concern of mine with inov-8). Day one out of the box, these shoes surpassed my expectations at every turn. The traction is crazy good, I was able to really grip the mats during my stretches and then again during my lifts. This shoe is light. Really light. During my runs I could feel the ground and was able to get a better mid-foot strike because I could tell when I lapsed back into a lazy heel strike. Running in this shoe was comfy; there was enough cushion to protect me during bad heel strikes but maintains an airy feel. The shoe is also very breathable. Having previously experienced significant ankle soreness after WODs, what a relief to end my workout in these shoes and not have any. I believe that due to the minimalist styling, my foot could finally absorb the force properly because of the flexibility of the shoe. I can't wait to put these shoes through all of the crazy things WODs throw at you. People tell you this shoe runs large, this is true. But make sure when you order, you still account for the half size you need for a running shoe (if you plan to run in them). I wear 9s, ordered 8.5 and they fit but I decided they were too snug for running. Reordered 9s and they fit like a dream.

I bought these because I was looking for new shoes to use for CrossFit. I just got back from my first workout with these and I absolutely love them! They're super lightweight, and I feel like they make burpees and box jumps easier to do. I didn't love them for the 800m run, but they're great for everything else. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a new gym shoe. I wore a 6.5 in my Nike Lunarglides, so I ordered these in a 6.5. There seems to be a teeny bit too much room in the toe, but not so much where I want to exchange them. Whenever I need to replace these, I might order a 6 and a 6.5 just to see how each size fits, and return the size I don't want.

Amazing shoes! I already own a pair of the 195s and purchased these for something with a little more cushion. Sizing ran the same as the 195s and the width is a little more forgiving.

I never owned a pair of Inovs before but now I see what all the hype is about. These are awesome shoe for legs day and just training all the muscles in your feet. There is no arch on purpose for that. I bought the F-Lite 240 grey/black/red combination and so far I love them. I have no complaints. I would buy another pair.
I'd also recommend:
