I have a lot of Kinvara loving friends, so when my current trainers reached 500 miles, I figured I'd give a pair a spin. All told, and now 75 miles and a half marathon later, I'm glad I did.
I found the moderate stack height and 4mm drop felt 'right' to me as compared to competing offerings from Brooks and Nike. I'm not sure what the last is, but the shoe felt both a little odd and perfectly suited to my foot. The oddness went away, but the glovelike fit didn't. I definitely like the absence of a hard plastic heel counter, which is a switch for me.
They were a great shoe for a half marathon I ran recently, and I've had no issues with pinching or blistering. And although it's a little early to tell, I find it hard to believe the people who say they can get 4 or 500 miles out of the outsoles in these things. The carbon rubber pads already have significant wear and when a running buddy told me he usually only gets around 250 out of his, I don't doubt it. And if I can get them on sale, I'd still spring for another pair. I do wish they weren't so hideous - and I do mean all of the color combinations. I tend to favor more conservative looking running shoes, though, and they're definitely in the minority.
It isn't the kind of shoe I love so much I'd stock up on, but so far I'm pretty pleased and would definitely get another pair if the price was right.

The sole is quite thick through the whole width in the middle, which isn't apparent in the stock photo. That said, this pair is really comfortable for my longer (>5mi) runs as I build up the mileage on my New Balance Minimus. The uppers are absurdly light and breathe well, overall construction is typical (great) Saucony quality. Wide width fits comfortably like the New Balance 2E/4E, way better than the Nike 4E and anything by Sketchers, Adidas, or Reebok.

Great medium-minimal shoe. I'm a long time runner and have used the classical Asics Gels for years and decided to try a lighter shoe. I'm really glad I chose these.

First time owner of Saucony shoes. The fit is perfect, they are comfortable and sturdy. I don't wear them everyday but feel that I could.

Just started to get back into running. I normal always wore Asics but decided to try something different. I'm glad that I did. These shoes are light weight and still supply the support that I need.

I find the Saucony ProGrid Kinvara 3 just right in all ways: fit, cushioning, lightweight plus with good breathe ability. They also had just enough stability for a heavy guy like me. I am wearing them this spring virtually every day which was my target when I ordered them.

Got this for the brand loyalty, feels cheaper than other comparable shoes of the same brand/type but the look is very cool.

Very, very light weight and comfortable on the feet! Lots of recoil on ball of feet, but not too sure of the cushion on the heel, only ran a mile in them so far. It seems kind of hard on the heel.

Good neutral shoe. I favor minimalist, but when go for a particularly long run, I like to have some cushioning. This shoe provides, with minimal weight. The only problem: the toe box is too narrow. (I bought the wide-width version.) Specifically, my big toe is forced inward, which leads to friction, and potential blisters. I may end up cutting the toe box open to compensate. If not for this problem, I'd have given it 5 stars.

These shoes feel wonderful and so light. The only problem is the size of the toe box which is too large for me - I have to tighten the laces so that there is a ripple in material in the toe box. I've worn the same size in Saucony for the last 5 shoes - maybe I will try a size down in the Kinvara next time.

Haven't done more than 15 miles in them, yet, but they're feeling pretty good. I've been a fan of the 2s. The 3s are stiffer and a little more structural than the 2s, which I initially didn't like when I put them on, but it doesn't seem to affect my actual running. I'll be curious to see how these breathe in the summer. The 2s, with their weird mesh-y netting on the toebox, did have pretty good breathe-ability. Like the 2s, I bought a full size up and the fit is good.
So far, so good. Very happy in these.

Very comfortable shoe. This is my third purchase of the Kinvara (2 and 3). I use it as my daily trainer. My only complaint is the outsole at the heel does not wear well (I'm a supinator with slight heel strike). Nike's uses a longer wearing carbon outsole (BRS 1000 carbon).

I had mine for 2 months only running 5 miles a day. Great comfort, but they fell apart by the bend at the toe...fell apart. Done with Saucony moving on to Brooks...Pure Flow 2.

I'm not in love with these shoes, but I don't have any real issues with them either. They are light and have a low heel drop, so they give a pretty minimalist feel.
My only real issue with them is that the logo on the bottom of the sole acts like a suction cup whenever I am walking on flat hard surfaces like tile. They make a popping sound with every step I take, because the logo forms a suction and then releases. Kind of annoying...but not a huge deal.

Lightest distance shoes I have ever worn, and after three 30+ mile weeks they are holding up well. They breathe very well, and feel comfortable in the rain. The traction isn't the best for rainy-city running (Seattle streets), but I would still recommend this shoe.

This is an update to an earlier review. I bought these to replace the Nike Free Run that I'd worn and loved for years. The new generation of Nikes included a narrower toe box and fore foot area and left me out in the cold. I love the Kinvaras. I've had them for two months and put on about 160 miles. My only complaint is that the area of the right shoe, on top between my ankle and the last eyelet, show the trim tearing. The unusual wear showed up after only a few weeks. Several weeks later and I'm pretty convinced the problem is only cosmetic; the performance of the shoe does not seem to be affected.

I purchased these shoes because the Nike Free Run +2's that I have used for years were discontinued by Nike. The new Nike Free Run +3's are considerably narrower and no longer an option for me. Too bad. It is horrible when a trusted pair of shoes is no longer available and you have to start from scratch with another model. Thank goodness I found these. I have pretty wide feet and need a wider than normal toe box. While these K3's are probably a tad less wide than the Nikes, they are an excellent replacement. I put in six miles this afternoon without any discomfort whatsoever. The sole is essentially as flexible as the Nikes. It also feels lime there is a bit more arch support in the K3's, which frankly put me off at first; like maybe too much. It felt like it might cause me to strike on the outsides of my feet. Thankfully this was not the case. The shoes felt great. Time will tell how well they hold up, but I am optimistic that these will be my new "go to" shoes for years. The bottom line is that this may be a great alternative for the growing number of former Free Run +2 runners who (like me) hate the +3's.

I don't normally write reviews but I had to comment. If you take a look of the view of the heel, there are reflectors on both sides (the gray triangle). I have tried this running at night on a road and you can see the reflectors better than any shirt you might have - they stick out and these shoes are a must have for night runners.

These shoes run long. I have been wearing a 14 in Nikes. The 14 in these shoes was too long. Had to return them. Fearful that 13 might not be long enough (probably need 13 1/2 and it's not available) so will go with another shoe.

These felt great and looked forward to a nice transition into minimalist running but a minimalist shoe is supposed to have a wide toe box, these don't, so I ordered a wide and it still didn't so I returned them.

Light shoe, seems nice but you have to order 1-2 sizes bigger. Has a very tight toe box for a barefoot style running shoe.

Loved the style and wanted to try a 'minimal running shoe' so I tried them in a store and like them- felt good, but wanted to see if cheaper on Zappos- and they were, so I got them. I tried running in them out of the box, ran a 1 mile and had to head back because and they SHREDDED my the back of ankle to point of bleeding. No cushion on the back part of the shoe and got tighter when I ran, and I couldn't return it as I hit a mud puddle on the run. Total Bummer.

Very disappointed. They changed the design so that the achilles notch is higher than the Kinvara 2, and the little tabs surrounding the notch are now firmer, pointed, and stick up higher yet, so that they rub the sides of the tendon. The toe box is bigger, and that is good. The upper material over the box is different than the Kinvara 2 - more crinkly - and touches the tops of my toes due to deformation. My feet are D width so they are not overly narrow.

I bought these shoes not too long ago. They look awesome and very light. The only problem is it doesn't feel that comfortable. When I wore it to do my morning jog, I felt an arch is poking my feet. The arch is very hard and stiff. There is no cushion support in this shoe. Thumbs down on this one.

Did not like the fit at all. I bought ProGrid Kinvara 2 and there is absolutely zero side support on them. My feet were actually spilling out to the left and right of the sole...causing the shoes to tear at the top left corner on left shoe and right corner on right shoe. They are very light - no doubt about it. However - I bought the Kinvara 3 due to the video and some comments I read...they are very uncomfortable. Still a side support problem - only on this model - on the side where the emblem is - it actually feels like a piece of hard plastic is pushing against the side of my foot up by base of each small toe. Very uncomfortable. Returning them. I have narrow feet so this is not a case of fat wide feet spilling over. Wanted to like them but just can't do it.
