I use this product as a school backpack as well as a hiking daypack and an airplane carry on. This bag is very versatile, and has a protective laptop pocket which is crucial. I love the design and it has great back support. I would definitely recommend this model.

I bought this backpack specifically because A) it was cute and B) it is supposed to fit a 15inch laptop. But that is not the case! Although yes I can technically get my MacBook Pro in the sleeve the backpack barely zips up! It is such a tight squeeze that the laptop corners are visibly poking through when the bag is zipped.

After much debate between this version and the men's/unisex design, I've decided to test both more thoroughly and simply return the other. For starters, I love the design of the women's over the men's - and the elastic cord in the front appear more appealing for my uses. However, as a broader-shouldered woman, I find the straps to be WAY too short, unless you want the backpack to be above the bottom of your neck. The backpack itself sits much too high for comfort especially if i'm not doing anything active. It's also incredibly annoying that the back support paneling is so incredibly tall; it makes the backpack impossible to stand up on its own. The pockets and organization is great- but there are some key design flaws which prompted me to return the backpack.

We purchased this for our daughter who is going into Middle School. She absolutely loves it! Extremely functional, well built, and will last her for several years.

I love North Face backpacks and I just purchased this new one. I love it and the design but it is so stiff which makes it pretty uncomfortable to wear

I got this backpack because I'm starting grad school. There is a separate compartment for my laptop and it feels really protective and padded. The middle compartment is huge and fits all my notebooks and even a small throw blanket I bring around when I need to study at the cold library. This backpack has plenty of pockets and space. The back padding was a little stiff at first and a bit too long for my back, though I'm very petite. However after using it for a week, it has gotten a lot comfier.

What I love about it: it's big and holds a LOT. I can stuff 2 textbooks, jackets, all my school stuff, water bottle, laptop, etc. It's kind of a black hole where I can just about put anything. The organization is also great. I used this as a overnight camp counselor and it was great for stuffing the random stuff I needed for hikes, etc. What I don't love: it's HEAVY and kind of clunky- maybe because I'm 5'4, but this backpack just doesn't sit well. It feels too long and sticks up too high and too low- I'm not a fan of how it looks on me. And somehow the weight gets weirdly distributed so I end up feeling stooped.

This pack is amazing! I totally recommend!

I've been a very loyal customer for the North Face brand, specifically in backpacks, for many years now. I was looking forward to buying the Borealis backpack but when it arrived, it was nothing like how I was expecting! It used to be much prettier, now it is bulky and the side pockets are far too deep, and in all honestly, it's been turned into a way uglier backpack. Please- I'm begging you, bring the old Borealis backpack back! At least before back to school starts in 2018. :(

I use this backpack because I am a camp counselor. It holds everything and is super durable even though kids hang on it all the time. HIGHLY recommend.

I want the other design back. I don't like this design. Please bring it back.

This backpack has definitely gone above and beyond my expectations. This pack is great for work, school or anything you would need a backpack for. This backpack is very sturdy and has a great design. I absolutely love the extended water bottle pockets and the new exterior design of the backpack. I also really appreciate the fact that North Face has added an extra sleeve just for the laptop. This backpack has great padding which means you can wear it around all day. I also love the fact that the front compartment has organization. Additionally, the backpack comes in many colors. The material it is made out of is amazing! This backpack is great for everyone. I definitely recommend this North Face Borealis backpack!

I just recently received this backpack. It has exceeded my expectations! I've had the old design of the Borealis and I have like that for a long time. I recently had gotten this backpack and I absolutely love it. I love the new design of the bungee storage system and I absolutely love how north face has extended the water bottle pockets. This backpack is great for work because of the padded back it is very comfortable to wear around. I also love how Northface has added new colors and an extra zippered pocket for your laptop. This backpack carries many things and it is just a great backpack for anything that you might need it for. I would totally recommend this for other people to purchase!

I used this backpack for school for a little bit and it was great! The colors where beautiful (I got rose gold and black), there is so much organization. This backpack is also the perfect size for school.

It is July 13, 2018 and I just got on here to buy this backpack thinking it was the old design. But to my surprise they changed it. Yay... not really. This design sucks and is not cute at all also boring colors. Please bring old design back. Also I am trying to go to the Northface store this weekend in hopes that they still have the old design available. Wish me luck.

I’m planning a big trip this fall and needed a backpack that would free up my hands but not stress my back. I was very impressed with the comfort of this backpack. It does everything I need it to do and is actually helpful to my back.

Color was accurate, and delivered quickly. Only had a month, but seems durable. It is comfortable, and easy on back and shoulders which was most important with heavy books. Love it!

Very well designed backpack.

Absolutely love this backpack. It holds more than I expected (I am a college student and use it mostly for books), has neat features (like the whistle on the strap), and provides a lot of support for my back and shoulders. I like the laptop sleeve as it keeps my laptop safe and snug; I definitely like the design

When I got this it's extremely bright and isn't as red as in the picture. It's like a traffic cone. The back support is insane and amazing. The backpack looks even grey.

This backpack has a nice laptop sleeve, and fits my macbook pro perfectly. I bought this bag for camping, but It's so heavy duty I am going to use it for my college books.
