I am optimistic about these boots! The multitude of reviews warning of the toe crease really made me hesitate, but I am exceptionally satisfied with these boots for their price. There was absolutely a crease in the leather in a straight line across your toe knuckles. However, I've put around 35 km walking distance on them and the crease is now soft and flexible and no longer hurts my toes. These boots need to be gradually worked in to avoid that toe pain; I had no pain when just wearing them to my University campus and walking back and forth from my car to classes, and they softened up nicely. I wear a 7.5 in regular shoes most of the time, so that's what I ordered with these and they fit perfectly. I can wear a pretty thick wool sock and they are snug but not too stuffed. Plus I think they are super cute and simple. I'm wearing these for a three day weekend in Colorado coming up so I'm holding off on that fifth star until I can test them out in the elements. Will update.

I absolutely loved the look of this shoe -- and the leather felt so smooth. And I wanted to keep it -- but it creased at the toe the moment I put it on. I almost kept in even so -- but really I knew that initial crease would become a blister. If you could redesign this shoe so it doesn't crease, I would buy it!

I wear these boots everyday for work, over eight hours each day. I did notice that they creased in the toe box but I put some insoles in that raised my foot and that solved the problem. I wear a size 12 - 13 and these boots fit perfectly in the size 12. They are still waterproof three months later and they have stood up well enough that I just ordered a second pair for when they need to be replaced just in case Zappos no longer has them when that time comes.

I really wanted to love these boots, but ended up disappointed. The style is a nice combination between your standard leather boot and a hiking boot making them a great option for work or casual wear. I have a normal width foot but I did follow previous reviews and ordered a wide fit in my normal size which made the fit very comfortable. What I didn't like is that the boots crease when walking right over where the stitching is for the lower part of the laces. Just walking around the living room I knew this would cause blisters or hotspots on the top of my toes so I ended up returning them.

So far so good , for hiking shoes these are not hideous. I’ll be doing a nice 6 mile in them soon and I’ll update

I don't write many reviews, but these were really strange boots. I wear a 7D (WW). With hiking boots I'm recommended to get a 7.5. They came and were plenty wide enough, but too long. I exchanged for a 7. Still too long. I exchanged for a 6.5 and though my toe was at the end, they still creased at the toes in a way that felt as if they were too long. They also had very little padding underfoot. I ended up with New Balance instead and though a tad narrow (my usual problem) the support and padding underfoot is far superior.

I walked around the house for a few minutes with these boots on and was surprised by how much I liked them. But then I went up on my toes and the boot bent just at the wrong spot and the crease crushed the knuckle of my big toe. I wish the material was a little softer so that wouldn't happen or even firmer so it wouldn't bend in. I had to return them.

I was disappointed with these boots and am returning them. As other reviewers noted, when you walk the shoe creases at the toe and digs in to the top of your foot. I also felt that they hit my ankle at an uncomfortable spot.

I need a wide shoe and a wide toe box, and these fit the bill. They were extremely comfortable with one fatal flaw: every time I took a step the leather would crease at my toes. After about 5 minutes of walking in them I was ready to return them.

Not comfortable. No arch support at all and when you walk, the top of the shoe creases uncomfortably and hits the top of your toes.

Honestly, I don't know when shoe manufacturers decided it was okay to make shoes out of material that stiff as a board. These were so uncomfortable that all I had to do was slip on the right shoe to know it was going to hurt to wear them. And zero arch support.

Initially, I really liked these! Fit well, and seemed to be well-made. HOWEVER, in just over two years, and wearing intermittently, the Sole on the right shoe became un-stuck all along the outer side!!! If I'd not super-glued back in place (?) I would add a photo. REALLY NOT GOOD! I won't be buying Columbia again! For $90. one should be able to have some confidence in at least five years of life in a boot/shoe!

Needed a boot in a size 12 and decided to try these. Immediately felt the toe crease problem conveyed by other reviewers. Bummer cuz they’re light, cute and felt good until I took a step- problematic in footware! Don’t bother! This style seems defective.

HEED THE WARNINGS - I never got to wear them hiking but just some New York City snow/ice & they murdered my toes. While lightweight the creasing at the toe was terrible after the second wearing. I tried different sock weights, tried lacing differently, and nothing helped. I wore once more and ended up with a terrible gash across my big toes (went up and down some stairs and the pain started probably about 5 minutes into the walk across town- luckily I had something to change into at my destination but the 20 minutes resulted in huge gashes). Worse purchase I've made.

Love these, great ankle support, keep my feet dry and not super clunky. Great for walking my doggos through the woods in the sprung and fall.

I love these shoes. I walk in the snow in these, hike, walk on rocky areas and they last forever for me. I don’t go hiking often, more walking in snow but my last pair lasted 5 years

My son loves them.

The size was as expected; Thye width is very confortable with good arch support great materials, and the water resistant is good.

Wore these on a week long hiking trip in Zion & Bryce. Great grip on bottom for rock ledges. Worked well!

Fit and size was perfect. However, i feel as though my feet will get too hot in these so i am returning them.
