I bought this sneaker while I was away and had it mailed to where I was. The person who helped me on the phone was great. I had bought 927 before which was very comfortable and no problems but they were worn out so I needed a new pair of sneakers and they do not make 927 anymore. I looked everywhere in person and on line. I took a size 10.5 and the width was 2eand when I found that 928 took 927 place but the size was not the same, it was listed as a d.The girl assured me that it was a 2e. She was right but it is not as comfortable. It seems to be a little bigger in the heel. I wish they had not discontinued the 927. I had no problem at all with Zappos. The girl made me VIP and I got the sneakers in two days.I would definitely buy from you again. I have planter fascia and it was really acting up. I hope to find sandals from you in a couple of months. I would like to get ones that my ortodics would fit into. Thanks again and i will and have told everyone I know about your great service and shipping.

Stylish in the beige suede! I'm happy to find a NB walking shoe with a non-marking sole and this particular last. (To find out specifics about lasts, see the NB website.) And I'm happy to say that in beige, at least, they don't look like old lady shoes.
Minuses? The seam on this style hits the top of my bunion, a bad one that I have on my right foot. I used a gel toe spreader (that I should always use anyway) and socks and it is much better, although for heavy walking I think I will have to have that part of the shoe stretched. That's my only negative.
I have problem feet (well the right one, anyway), and these are perfect for my left foot. They are well padded, have good support, and I do not understand the reviews that call them cheap or cheaply made. They really are very nice!

I am happy with Zappos service but I am a little disappointed in the shoe. I always got the WW927 but looks like it has been discontinued. Don't really like the toe on this one, otherwise is okay.

I totally agree with the person who wrote "Why why why do companies feel they need to improve upon an excellent product!" But I go back a little bit further. I loved the 926 model! 927 seemed too large and wide (and I have wide feet). I needed the depth for my orthotics and the 926 was all I wore for several years (in fact, maybe my first New balance was a 925!). I was never totally happy with the 927's...and have had to switch to 967, in fact! I love the 967's. They fit me and my orthotics beautifully, and I've already gotten an extra pair in case they "improve" this one. My only gripe is that they only have it in hiking boot decor. I'd like to have at least one other color, a beige or white, that would go better with dress clothes (or even a solid black)! I would then not have to resort to my sandals - which I can't wear for a long period of time due to my foot problems. But - we'll see!

I have ordered the New Balance WW928WS which fit fine. I thought I ordered same style until I wore them. I checked the tongue of the shoe and they were WW928WS2. My toes were being pushed into the front of the shoe they felt like they were a half to full size too small.

Please be aware these are labeled as WW928 but this new pair did not fit like my other 2 pairs of WW928. Regrettably, I will have to return them.

Good support. The stitching rubbed on my bunion and very uncomfortable. I had to return.

The sizing on this is crazy - a 9 in this is huge , the 8½ was perfect but too narrow on my slightly wider feet New balance has been a huge disappointment the last two years. I actually wrote to them asking for a recommendation with a wide toe box with narrow heel and no arch support , they said they had nothing for me! This is what they were known for in their motion control shoes not too long ago.

I finally got enough room across my toes! The tan suede not bad looking; the black leather was just too ugly. The arch support is disappointing and I experience a fair amount of pronation.

This shoe is not designed the same as the white version of the same shoe. The white shoe has a padded collar around the ankle, and the black one does not, so it pokes into your ankle when shoe is laced and tied. Makes it uncomfortable for walking, which the whole purpose of this shoe. What's up with that, New Balance?

Nice shoe, but runs narrow. If you need a 4E, get the men's. Length is pretty accurate but it's not going to work w/socks on my feet, so will have to send them back. They do provide nice support however.

They feel good as far as cushioning but the toe box is very tight and these seem to run very narrow. I normally wear a medium but I feel like I need a wide in these. I will return for a wide and see how they fit.

I don't like the style or feel of this shoe. It seems to have no support anywhere. Similar to wearing a slipper with shoestrings. I won't buy these again and I wouldn't recommend this style.

I do not really care for these shoes. They feel loose in the heel of the right foot, and rubs on the left little toe. I have worn New Balance before and have had very good luck. I hope they go back to old style of shoes. If not broke why fix it?

Love Zappos. I'm definitely a repeat customer. But I must say I'm so disappointed with New Balance this time. My 928's look more like orthopedic shoes and are way to big in the toe box. No problem with 926 or 927 but with the 928 I'm going to return and shop around for another style. Come on New Balance...you're slipping. Bring back the good quality shoe.

I have very bad feet and usually have good luck with New Balance. The tongue on this shoe comes too far down on the in-step and it's bothersome. I compared it to another pair of New Balance shoes I have and the tongue is definitely longer.

Thanks, New Balance for giving me further foot problems. This new design has a seam that hits at the widest part of the foot and after a few months of constant irritation I developed a callous and had to remove my own inserts to lower the foot bed a bit thus loosing my optimum arch support. The previous model was far superior.

After wearing the 927 for years, for long 12 hour shifts on my feet, I was so disappointed with the 928, it is a terrible shoe. I returned these. Not the same kind of shoe. I am now wearing the velcro strap version, see my review, not happy.

This shoe is not for me, but I wish I had known that before I wore them on a trip and developed a plantar fasciitis flare-up, for which I am now doing physical therapy. I've worn the 920 series for years -- probably 10 pair at least, but this redesign on the 928 doesn't work for me. It hurts my ankle and my foot apparently sits differently in the shoe. I hope New Balance will bring back the 927!

I have previously purchased a couple of pairs of New Balance 928 shoes but the black pair that I got from Zappos hurt the inside of my ankle. I feel like I paid top dollar for a second rate shoe. Wish I could remember where I got the good ones from!

I also wear the WW927, without problem. But this new model, the WW928, has a different design for the topmost lace eyelets piece. It is very stiff and digs into my inside ankle bone in my normal size of 6.5EE. The 7EE does not dig in, but they felt overly roomy. Toe box is plenty wide. Accommodates orthotics. This one will be returned due to this uncomfortable, and poorly designed part of the shoe.

I love New Balance shoes but had to send these back with regrets. For some reason they were way to narrow and killed my feet. I bought them to soothe and help heal my bone spur, but the narrowness irritated my bunions. I might order another pair in a wider width, we shall see. Thank you, Zappos, once again for the best customer service and return policy on Earth.

I am sorry to say I had to return this item. I ordered a 10.5 wide, it fit everywhere but was too wide in the heel, even had thick socks on. I am finding all the NB fit my feet the same, great in the toe box, too wide in the heel.

These sneakers are only fair. Compared to the NB926 & NB927 they are made with cheaper leather and their soles are not as cushioned. The heel area is larger than I would like it to be. In truth I prefer the fit of the NB926 to both the NB927 and NB928. The NB927 and NB928 are not as wide in the forefoot as the NB926's were.

These shoes are not a good replacement for the 927's, so if that is what you are looking for try something else. They are tighter in the toe box and the seams under the eyelets actually dug into the top of my foot so much I had two areas that bled. Add that to the fact they they are still an ugly shoe. I won't be buying another NB shoe unless they bring back the 927's.
