It does work well, but both of them cracked inside, and I did not do anything to cause this. Two of them doing the same thing, at this price is not good.

I really loved this machine, despite the flaws that were apparent right away. The housing for the pitcher cracked almost instantly and it seemed as though I had to keep adjusting the temp. One morning while awaiting my steamy milk, it just makes a "poof" sound and died, never to work again. This wasn't cheap and it makes me sad that I have only had this for 2 years and it is dead in the water. Ruined my morning routine.

My husband, Craig Poarch, bought this more than one year ago and it has worked great. During the last week, the milk will not froth. We tried three whole milk brands and made sure the milk was cold. It is heating the milk but not frothing.

I have had needed 4 replacements of this frother. It will randomly stop frothing and the milk turns out heated but flat after spinning. Customer service has been good with replacing it but it is now out of the warranty period and broken again. It is very confusing why this keeps happening but nothing appears broken, no water damage, it just from one day to the next stops working. Disappointing that this splurge of a frother is so unreliable and finicky, each replacement lasting only ~6 months. I have lost all trust in mechanical frothers and will be looking into a steam based frother next.

price doesn't match the quality of the froth

The lid no longer fits tightly and the milk frother Will not sit tightly with the magnet and sometimes just come off so the milk doesn't froth and only warms. Even when they do seem to click in the froth isn't much poor quality then when I got the machine a year ago. For the money I paid when I got it it should last much longer.

Loved the streamlined look and simple clean up. Unfortunately, it has been inconsistent. Sometimes it works great and froths, other times it just heats and doesn't froth.. now it doesn't do either. (it has done this a few times over the past year.. turns on, lights up and then beeps without heating or frothing the milk). I love it when it works but am disappointed in its inconsistency.

The Milk Cafe is amazing....when it works. The froth is perfect, the temperature control is terrific, and it's quick and easy to clean. BUT mine is a replacement for one that didn't work (and I have another that doesn't work, that I couldn't get a replacement for because I got it off craigslist)...and about one time in every 3, I have to troubleshoot it and restart it repeatedly. What a shame that it's so finicky.

Our unit FAILED AFTER 2 YEARS. We use it in the morning only, and twice for 2 cups of coffee, so not a lot of use. It still heats the milk but does run at enough speed to froth the milk.

We love the milk foam made by this machine. We use it every day. Unfortunately it only lasts one year to maximum 18 months. We have already gone through two of them and now about to buy another one. They need to improve the reliability.

I received the Breville Milk Cafe from my son for Christmas who loves the product and uses his often. I have attempted to fill out the form on their website to let them know my product is not frothing like it use to but it is asking for info in which I can't find. It therefore, won't let me contact them via website and there is no email address to send an email. The office is not open after 5 pm and it disconnected me without allowing me to leave a voice mail message to have someone call me back during business hours. I find this very frustruating.

We've had this milk frother for 2 years. It has always worked great and we loved it. We used it a couple of times per week. But yesterday, all of a sudden, I smelled something and noticed it was smoking!!! It was not being used. Upon closer inspection I also noticed small cracks in the plastic. (Hard to see!) apparently this happens quite often, read other reviews!

Would give zero stars if I could, purchased as a Christmas gift, opened in the morning and tried to make hot drinks for the family. Machine only ever beeped three times at us and turned off. Never worked, very disappointed.

Have had this about eight months, and suddenly the milk does not heat anymore. Tried moving the temperature knob to different positions, but no heated milk. Disappointed.

I purchased this approx month ago. After two weeks, the machine stopped frothing. Warm milk only.

I received the Breville Milk Jug as part of a vendor's elegant coffee-themed gift basket. I set it up right after the holiday. It is excellent on the days it works, but it just beeps and grinds loudly on other days. My husband and I have followed all the described resolutions online and in the manual. We unplug it after use in hopes of resetting it and always make sure the jug is cool before starting. I am incredibly disappointed with this machine.

I spent the extra money on this frother thinking it would last a long time. I've had it 2 years and use it about once a month and it now overheats after 1 cup!! Not worth the money

My replacement stopped working, doesnt even light up Is it under warranty?

I really wanted to like this frother, but alas it was not meant to be. My first milk frother lasted a couple months of occasional use, then the discs started to pop off when starting the cycle. Breville sent me a new one, and I used it for the first time yesterday. Worked great. Went to use it again today and it's doing the same as the first, completely unusable. Extremely disappointed with the product, it couldn't last two uses. Reading through reviews, this is a seemingly common issue. It's a stylish design, which is now the only good thing I can say about it. If you're looking for a reliable frother, look elsewhere, for this one will only end in frustration and disappointment.

I've owned 2 of the Milk Cafe and love the function, but they are impossible to clean. I've tried everything recommended by customer service and nothing gets the rust off. I bought a new replacement jug and it's got rust where the fluid sits.

I purchased this unit ~18 months ago. I only used it a handful of times between now and then, but just recently started trying to use it daily. When it works, it produces wonderful frothy milk that is heated. However, nearly every time I use it I have to "fix" it for about 10 minutes prior to use because the spinning part isn't working. The disc is securely fastened, but for whatever reason the motor doesn't catch the disc to spin it without lots of intervention. I am very disappointed that I paid so much money for something to have such a limited useful life.

stopped working after 3 weeks

Mostly worked for the better part of a year, although it was definitely touchy about what kind of milk (different brands of 2% milk produced entirely different levels of froth), but generally I could count on a decent foamy cappuccino every morning, with the kind of thick foam you can use to produce coffee art as you pour in the froth. Then one day, it just stopped, and while it still heats the milk well, all I get are a few anemic bubbles that dissipate almost immediately. Nothing has changed about the machine itself or how cold my milk is. I've tried every troubleshooting tip in the guide book, and on the internet. So now I've got a non-functional machine, out of any warranty that there might have been. And I'm back to using the manual frother that I was using before I splurged on an expensive machine if I actually want thick foam. Highly disappointing and aggravating, especially because in general we have loved Breville products and I chose this based on that reputation.

In my experience with 3 of the MilkCafes, please do not buy it.
