I wear 8.5M in all shoes. According to the sizing chart, my size is 38. I ordered and returned because they were a half size too small. I then ordered 39, which according to Alegria site, is a size 9. The shoes swallow my feet and even when I buckle as much as I can, they slip up and down and there is a good 1/2 space at my heel. I give up on these cute shoes. Alegria site suggested I purchase wide insoles and place in the 8.5 because they are thinner. That is too expensive and way too complicated. They just aren't for me....no fault of Zappos, of course. As always, Zappos is customer friendly.

Before ordering, I read reviews concerning sizing. I wear a true 8.5M and according to both Zappo's sizing chart as well as Alegria's, I should wear a 38. Wrong. The shoes are a half size too short. Before trying the shoes on, I could see they wouldn't work. How can a shoe be both an 8 AND an 8.5 anyway? I will return the shoes for a 39. Hopefully this will work out.

Love these shoes, but the 39 is too short, my toes were right at the tip of the toe box. Ordered the 40 and the heel slips with each step. Disappointed, would have loved to been able to keep them.

So disappointed in width. I have wide feet. And I have other styles from this show maker that fit (I always order the widest width possible). In what universe is this shoe wide? I don’t see the wide marking on the shoe, but I do on the box so...either this shoe was sent by mistake or it is NOT wide, no matter what it says! Now my decision is to keep or take to a cobbler to stretch. It sure yet. The shoe is darling. I can’t speak to the arch support since I can’t wear it! It’s a great brand, though. I will update when I decide what I’m going to do!

This is my 5th pair of Alegria shoes. I have problem feet. These shoes are great. I will definitely be ordering more colors. I have only ordered the Essence style and these. Both feel great, even on my feet. So grateful to have found these

Beautiful shoe and very well made. It is a little too short for me. The lack of shape makes the shoe less attractive than I would like.

Very comfortable and a good fit for my wide feet. They're cute for the most part. The sole is a bit clunky looking, but not too bad.

I'm wearing these now without socks as the weather is warm. Only Alegria I can wear that has soft enough leather and the toe box doesn't rub on my arthritic big toe joint. I got a 42 M and the length is pretty good and there is room to wear socks. They do seem a little wide but I have a narrow heel. May need to put more heel pads in. They are a little clunky and I wish the black was shinier but....they are ok with capris and jeans. Apparently Zappos isn't getting more of this as I would probably order different colors. Not sure if Alegria is no longer manufacturing this; I didn't see it in their new booklet. Would love to know if other people have found this shoe elsewhere in more colors/sizes!!!:) As always, Zappos is TOPS with ordering and returning!

I've had Alegrias before and LOVE the way the shoe bed feels! It's so soft and yet still supportive. I'm keeping the shoes even though they feel a bit bulky and large because my feet are smack in the middle of being narrow and medium. (I'm a larger woman so I tend to feel more comfy in medium sized shoes.) I fear going down a size might be cutting things too close. I highly recommend wearing socks so the leather doesn't scratch your ankles and tops of your feet up. Happy with the purchase!

While not the prettiest shoe, if you have foot pain and need good arch support these shoes are very comfortable and great for walking hard city streets.

My feet are so hard to find shoes for so I was very excited when the Alegria Pesca turned out to be so comfortable. It is roomy and it has thick (but stylish)soles so my feet don't get tired from walking on hard surfaces. The toe is squared so my toes don't get cramped. It has cutouts so my feet can breathe. The only thing I would change is to make it more orthotic friendly. Better arch support in a cushier foot bed or a removable foot bed for my orthotics to fit in. Overall, I really like this shoe and will shop this brand in the future.

I really wanted these shoes to fit but I over pronate really badly and these did not offer enough of the type of support for that condition. I was in high hopes I could find something to wear other than Vionic or tennis shoes with orthopedic inserts. For everyone looking for a cute shoe with great support this really is a great shoe. I still give it 4 stars. Only took one off due to the fact I also had problems with the size.

Love my Alegria's...however as a usual with Alegria's covered toe shoes with a rocker bottom-I find the toe part runs short. Going up a size doesn't help because the shoe is then just too big. Back these go!

I have been wearing Algeria shoes for more than 3 years and find them not only comfortable but helpful for chronic ankle and foot pain secondary to arthritis and ankle joint replacement surgeries. This model is not as comfortable as my other two pairs, seems sloppy in the fit and not as supportive. My involved foot needs to work harder to keep the shoe on even though I bought the same size. I plan on keeping the shoes and will probably need to wear an elasticized ankle support to adjust the fit and comfort.

I like the shoes fit really well first time putting them on. Have a little rubbing spot on left ankle which I think will go away after totally broke in May not look as pretty as other styles, but comfort out weighs that for me!

These are the cutest but most ugly shoe. I love the freesia color. The shoes have great arch support but I found them to fit smaller than an actual 36. I have worn a size 36 for years but in another brand that fit more true to size. Therefore I would recommend ordering up a size.

This is my 1st pair of Alegria's; they are very comfortable sandals with excellent arch support. They run large in length but not width, so I wear a size smaller than other euro-sized shoes. Wish these weren't so expensive which is why I gave them 4 stars; hope they last awhile.

Love these shoes! They are well made, comfortable with an above average arch support. Arch support could be better for my very high arches but these do work. I need a break from Dansko clogs which meet my needs for arch support but shock absorption is lacking. Not the most attractive shoe and comfort is more important to me anyway.

This shoe has style. I love the top stitching and the Velcro fastener. But the angle of the toe box is too sharp. It crimps the smaller toes as one walks and quickly becomes uncomfortable. I am returning the shoes.

These shoes have great cushioning and a comfy 'rocking' motion due to the fairly stiff sole design. There's also a thick insole with good arch support. I found that the arch support doesn't hit my arch, it presses slightly too far back on the foot, which I think would cause discomfort over time. I got the pewter ones and goodness, they are ugly! Kind of cute-ugly, but still they make my feet look huge and I don't love the pewter, it's a shade lighter than charcoal with a bit of sheen added. I would try Alegrias again in a larger size and another style.

This is my third pair of Pescas. I have black and lighter blue/gray and I was thrilled they had navy. I wear a size 8M and need to put in extra back of heel inserts in order to make them fit tightly enough. They do run wide. I have several foot problems, and can wear these longer than most shoes. I can't use my orthotics in them because they are too thin. The shoes are made to be worn with very thick orthotics, so if you wear custom orthotics, you might not be able to use them. For me, the shoes become too flexible, and that hurts my feet. I have been able to wear them with the orthotics that come with them.

Pretty color but more of a statement than I'm ready to make right now. I'm looking for a comfortable shoe for a trip and think these have potential. I usually wear about a size 10 and ordered 41. They seem good for length but a little loose around my heel (a common problem for me). A 40 1/2 would be nice. Once you get over how huge your feet look these are some pretty attractive and comfortable shoes.

I'm looking for some comfortable shoes or sandals for an upcoming trip to Italy. I thought these looked a bit orthopedic but love this green color so I decided to be open minded. I usually wear a 10 in closed toe shoes and ordered the 39 (10). The shoes felt great with bare feet but my toes nudge the end which is unusual for me. I'm going to exchange them for a 40 and see what happens. They feel like they have great potential and I like knowing they will fit my orthotics. Anything not to have to resort tromping around in athletic shoes in Italy.

Absolutely love the support and comfort. I ordered two pair of the Alegria Pesca, and both pair squeak terribly, I am a teacher with flat feet, so comfort and support are essential. Unfortunately, I have to make sure that I don't wear these shoes on quiet testing days. What makes them squeak and is there anything I can do to make them stop?

Couple of problems - I wanted to love these shoes. They look nice on the foot. The regular width toe box was as wide as the usual wide shoe, and my buniony toes were happy. But the straps on the top cut into my skin. They would have been okay with socks, but I don't want socks with my sandals. Also, I would need to order down half to one size. Again, the length might work with socks, thick socks. I might try a smaller size if I see them on sale.
