These shoes are comfortable and they met the criteria for my office. I needed a safe, closed toe shoe that still gave me a little lift because I'm so short. The only thing I don't like about this shoe is that my socks show on the top of the shoe. My pants are usually fairly long and I usually wear a clog. I guess it's just the style. The Dansko clog is too tight across the top of my foot so this was a better fit for me, but I don't like my sock to show between the shoe and my pants.

I have a pair of Dansko clogs in this exact same style (or so I thought) from more than 5 years ago. Same Mary Jane style, same strap, same foot bed . . . . but completely different shoe! The material for the heel is lighter weight and less durable, the straps are thinner and less comfortable and -- the kicker for someone with a wide foot and the toe box is downright skimpy compared to the clog I know and love. What has happened to this brand? I miss Dansko and despair of this cheesy imposter! I'm going to gorilla glue the soles of my old clogs and wear them another 5 years. :(

I was a Dansko virgin until I took the plunge and bought the "Sam" in brown. It's one of the only shoes (outside of riding boots, flip flops, and sneakers) that I can wear on my whole commute standing on the train, all day long, and then home again. The foot support is excellent, and unlike many other Danskos, the ankle strap prevents it from flipping off of the back of your heel. I'm a 10.5, and ordered the 41, which was perfect. If I were a true 11, the 41 might have been a bit short. In terms of style, Danskos are never going to be the fashionista's choice, but the Sam is one of the better options. It has a clog look without being Clog. I wear it with pants and casual skirts, though I can't wait to try it with tights for the fall!

Love Zappos. Seems Dansko sizing is now smaller since I have worn them for years. Great quality, but just too small for me.

This shoe, like many other danskos of similar style, cut across the top of my foot. It wasn't as comfortable as I wanted given how terrible it looked on me.

Love these shoes. I have a retail job that keeps me on my feet for long hours. These shoes keep my feet and legs happy. Plus, they look great with skirts and dresses - Dansko clogs although delightfully comfy, look silly with skirts and dresses at my age.

Just wanted to say "ditto" to everyone who suggested getting a size larger than you think you need. My Dansko professionals are a 39, but I needed a 40 in the Sams to give my long toes enough room.

This is my second pair of Dansko Sam. I got it in black as well. I love that it's very comfy and stylish. I highly recommend this!

I never, ever write internet reviews. In fact, this is my first ever. If you're like me and need a wide shoe, these are one of the only Danskos that fit the bill. I've been through more pairs of Danskos trying to find a good width, and these are it! The holy grail! They are comfortable, stable, and not too heavy at all. I want them in every color.

Well, I have really enjoyed this sandal. I'm a stylist on my feet for long hours. I have sand dollar, pretty with white. Hope this is not discontinued. Today I'm sure this shoe is a keeper, my son & I had to push start my car. You guessed it, I was wearing Sam running to push my car. Wow, they were comfortable even at 44! How many shoes could you say that about?

I have wide feet, I found this shoe to be comfortable with the once exception around the brim of the shoe was a litte tight for my wide foot and become uncomfortable as I went throught the day. If you are a medium-width this shoe should be comfortable for you. The shoe also makes your foot look bigger.

These shoes are heaven on earth. Every other shoe in my order felt like a cement block after I'd tried on these clogs. The leather is soft, and they were lighter weight than I'd anticipated adding to their appeal for me. I typically wear a size 9.5 or 10 M shoe but I wear a size 41 in Danskos. Love these shoes!

I love Dansko, and was hoping these would be the same fit and comfort, but a little more 'summery'. They are, and my feet were immediately happy in them. Zappos always sends them so quickly...thanks.

I had been eyeing this shoes for a while. I have them in the sand dollar color. They are super comfortable and a lot more stylish that other Danskos - great for that "in between" spring and fall weather. however, they make my feet stink! My feet have never smelled before but after wearing these my feet smell - I think it's because the leather at the front doesn't allow the foot to breathe mixed with the cushioned/soft footbed that breeds bacteria. I have to wipe the sole clean every few weeks and put my shoes in the freezer to kill the bacteria. It's kind of ridiculous - especially since my feet have never smelled. Other than that - these shoes are great!

I love these shoes. Like all Danskos, they offer solid construction, firm support and supple leather. I particularly like that there is no inner stitching or bumps on the ankle straps or insole that would chafe. The straps are adjustable so it is easy to slip on and the closed toe design is work-friendly. Oh, and the style is relatively cute. Being pregnant, I ordered one size up from my usual and these shoes are necessities. No more sore feet!

Love. Why did I wait this long to try a pair of Dansko's? As long as I moving my feet do not hurt; standing in one spot my feet start to hurt in about an hour. Out of the box I stood in these shoes for about 11 hours. I wear a 7.5-8 and ordered a 38. They fit perfect. These shoes were made in China which was a surprise to me. I checked into it further and they are made in both Italy and China. They look even better on than they do in the picture!

These are perfect! Ever-so-slightly too long for my 6 1/2 foot, but nothing major. The leather is soft, and required little breaking in. I can easily walk over a mile per day in these.

I love these. They are true to size and good even for a narrow foot, offering great arch support too. Especially nice is the soft footbed and leather on the shoe itself.

Comfortable right out of the box. I bought and wore these for a business trip to travel in and wear with multiple outfits in a hot and humid climate. I walked from my hotel to the conference and wore them all day. Only at the very end of a very long day with a lot of walking did the strap rub on one foot - not the front of the shoe though. The leather is very soft, and the heel height is dressy but comfortable. I wear an 8 1/2 to 9 and have a wide forefoot and very high arches, and the 39 fit perfectly. I do see how they are a tad shorter than the professional clogs, but they still fit me just fine.

I am very satisfied with this shoe. On first taking them from the box my first impression was that they were not very attractive. But after trying them on and walking around in them I could not resist because they are extremely comfortable. If you are standing up or walking about all day, this shoe gives great support. The shoes look best with jeans, casual pants or a long casual skirt. They are what I would call ugly-cute. These shoes grow on you. If you have bunions or other toe deformity, these shoes accommodate with no break in pain at all.

I needed good arch support for plantar fasciitis. These shoes are amazing, excellent arch support. They are cute and go well with my capris and summer clothes, not so good with dressier skirt. My only comment is on the ankle strap. It is not adjustable and it may be too wide for thin ankles. Wish Dansko made more small sizes in other styles.

I have foot problems resulting from neuroma surgery four years ago. These shoes are fabulous. The arch support allows me to walk pain free. They run true to size. I'm ordering one in each color!

I love these and have worn them practically every day since I got them. A very comfortable and stylish shoe to wear to the office. Only two slight caveats: 1) The toe box gets hot, so I probably won't wear these as the weather really warms up. Great for spring, not so much when the mercury reaches 80. 2) I broke an ankle several years ago, and while it's far from cankle dimensions, the strap on that ankle is a bit snug. I'm hoping the leather will stretch you enough as they get broken in.

I love all my Danskos but these are unlike the fit of the clogs. they are smoothly contoured inside and feels like you're walking on a cloud. I am a 9 in clogs but with open back sandals I like a 9.5 and these fit perfectly in the 9.5. My foot is a little wider in the mid section so the 9.5 made them look more slender as the 9 made it look like I had fat feet. I can literally run in these! My friend who always wears heels has now bought 2 pairs of these.
