They ran very small--I had to return and order a pair one size up. After wearing them for several months, I have to say that the fabric footbed is a major mistake on Dansko's part. I own 20+ pairs of Danskos, but this is the only one with fabric footbed and I won't buy shoes with that again.

I almost didn’t buy these because i didn’t think i ‘needed’ them. Now i sincerely wonder what i used to wear before. They are super comfortable and go with everything (Stone color). With plantar fasciitis, comfortable shoes that are this cute are hard to come by!

I own so many pairs of Danskos and had a previous pair of this style (before they changed the inner liner) and I find these make my feet feel hot. The leather is quite stiff and digs in around my ankle, so I am sadly returning these. I love the style. Something has changed with Dansko in the last couple of years.

This is actually the third pair of the Dansko Sam that I have received. The first pair was too small. I usually take a 40 in Dansko, and found I needed a 41 in this shoe, so I returned them for a 41 (I am a size 9 W). The next pair (41) was the wrong color, but the box was labeled correctly, and so these went back. The 41 fit perfectly however, and I would have kept them except for the color. The third pair was also the wrong color! Same scenario, box labeled correctly wrong color inside. I will return these as well :o( I do want to say however that Zappos is amazing and this is the first time I have had any trouble. I have ordered every pair of shoes I own from Zappos and will continue to do so.

Hey, Zappos! How can I review a shoe's "comfort" and "overall" WHEN IT DOES NOT FIT? I was very disappointed to receive two pairs of "Sam" Danskos that were so narrow I didn't even try to get my foot any further into it. I have bought "Sams" before--I wore one pair out entirely and replaced it, plus another I bought so long ago I can't remember the year. Both are holding up great--it's a cute and easy shoe to wear. Though Danskos aren't in wide sizes, I've always been able to wear them in and they last just about forever. Oooh, I just looked under my desk and I'm wearing the black pair now. Duh. Too bad these won't work--the red and teak are reallllly good colors.

I really like these shoes. They fit well and work great with jeans (they look okay with dress pants, but not as good as they do with jeans). I think they are super comfortable and the toe box size worked well for me.

I've been a die-hard Dansko wearer for work since I started medical school rotations in 2009. Back then it was the clog and gradually evolved into the more stylish shoes. I had a pair of Sam back maybe 9 years ago and loved them. They were my favorite shoes and I wore them everywhere all day long on my feet. Dansko put them on hiatus, so when I finally retired my last pair of Sam due to the smell of the footbed (a problem I've never had with any other shoe), I switched to the Thea, which then became my absolute favorite shoe. More stylish, equally comfortable. I was devastated when the sole split about 2 years into owning them. Thea then was off the market and I noticed Dansko was back to selling the Sam. Long story short, I was excited to get back to my first Dansko love, but the new version shoes are not comfortable. The footbed is hot and makes your feet sweaty if you're not wearing socks or tights. It's like wearing furry plastic wrap on the bottom of your foot. My other Danskos with a similar style and similar looking footbed don't have that problem. It's bizarre! I want to be able to wear them in the summer so they were a no-go. I ended up giving them away after about a month of trying to get comfortable in them. Here is hoping they bring back Thea!

They were SO incredibly comfy, unfortunately the toe box was way to narrow for me. Sadly, they’re going back ?? It’s a bummer because they’re literally the cutest shoes ever.

Perfect! Love these shoes. They are soooo comfortable. I have various issues with my feet. I wear Birkenstock’s and have worn Dansko open back clogs and Sanita clogs in the past. This is the third pair of this style I have ordered. I have a red pair, and black pair, and now this burnished brown color. I love the color! They are neutral, not too orange and not too gray. It is hard to find comfort shoes that are actually cute, but these are! I get compliments on them all the time. They are cute with jeans or a dress and make you look like you are wearing heels when you feel like you are wearing flats. Never stop making this style!

These are my favorite shoes, and my favorite Danskos. I wear them nearly every day, and whenever I need to wear something different, I miss the comfort, appearance, and simplicity of these.

These Danskos felt great right out of the box; no break-in time required. I walk to work everyday, and these serve me well. I wear a 39 in Birkenstocks, so that is what I purchased here as well, and they fit perfectly. I do have two issues with these shoes, however: (1) They make the top of my foot feel after a long day in them; like a pinching sensation. (2) Because of the thick sole and clog shape, I sound like a freaking clydesdale horse walking down the hall in my cubically-line office. Otherwise, they are cute, comfortable and accommodate my wide feet. Because I do walk to work in these, I also appreciate the traction on the sole.

The bottom of the shoe appears to be wood in the picture, however it is some sort of rubber with a wood grain imprint. To me they looked cheap and I thought the heel would scuff easily and get black marks on them as other rubber does. I returned them.

Cute clog, but the strap was too short. If you have a high instep, I don't recommend these clogs.

This classic Dansko sandal is perfect for wearing at work when I have to be on my feet all day. It's casual, fun, and funky and the brown color is great with my wardrobe. Dansko doesn't disappoint with quality and comfort. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought the shoes in my size but I had to send them back and order a bigger size, because they gave me blisters on the sole of my foot and toes. Size 39 however feels very comfortable, they have a very nice style, everyone tells me that they are very cute although they are not as comfortable as my Dansko xp

Very cute and extremely comfortable and versatile. I just love these shoes. I'm between a 37 and 38 and took advice to go larger, and the 38 fits like it was made for my feet.

I love the fit and color of these shoes! The Teak Vintage is a dark olive color, and the footbed on this shoe is padded - very, very comfortable! I've never tried this Mary Jane style and now it's too cold to do so. I'm looking forward to spring already, so that I can wear these out!

Ordered these to wear with a dress for outdoor family photos. Super cute and super comfortable. Fits true to size. I wear a 39 in European sizes and the 39 fit great!

Very cute, how ever they rubbed my bunion, my Dansko clogs to not rub my bunion. So sad, really wanted these adorable Mary Jane style to work.

Comfy for everyday wear. Dressy enough for work and casual enough for weekends

I bought these to replace a similar pair of Danskos that finally fell apart after 10 years of wear. Unfortunately, Dansko has become increasingly inconsistent in their sizing, and these did not fit right despite being the size I usually buy. My toes hit the end of the toe box, and the whole shoe felt slightly narrower than other Danskos I have.
