I've worn Chaco Flip EcoTreads for YEARS and years. I always get size 7 (I'm an 8-8.5 in nike runners) and get a snug-fitting flip flop that I literally wear all day, every day. However, these 7s were super loose - too loose for me to ever wear. I sent them back, thinking it was a fluke (it's happened before) and the 2nd pair was exactly the same. Comparing them to the Chacos I already have, instead of being able to slip a finger between the strap and my foot, I can easily pass my whole hand through. I might try a 3rd, time though. I need my Chacos!

Great looking. These are very loose on my foot. Will be able to wear around the house, but not to shop or even go to the pool. I tend to slip right out of them.

I purchased these in a size 8 and a size 9 since I normally wear a size 8.5. The size 8 was very narrow - even for me who has very thin, narrow feet! The arch of my foot was sitting on top of where the strap meets the footbed. If you're a half sizer your best bet is to size up, especially if you have wide feet. The size 9 was too big in length and felt more clunky than the 8. Also I noticed the strap was too loose on my foot - these definitely fit less narrow than the size 8. The arch support is milder than the arch offered with the Vionic Tides, which I also tried. A lower arch is what I need since I'm very flat-footed and often find shoes with significant arch support to be painful. I wanted to wear these for my upcoming trip to theme parks in Orlando. It's too bad they aren't offered in half sizes because an 8.5 might have been exactly what I needed.

This is my 3rd pair of Chaco flip flops and I have LOVED them, basically living in them for almost ten summers and not thinking twice about the $90 price tag. Last year I replaced them, not thinking twice and I was so disappointed with the replacement. They are shorter in length and much thinner in the sole. They do not wear the same and bother my feet given the new sizing/thinness. So disappointed Chaco! Now looking for other fabulous flip flops.

I own many chacos and decided it was time for some new ones this year. I bought two different colors at different times of the season. Returned both. I have been a size 7 forever and these run small. It's funny to me that other reviewers say they run big. Doesn't help future buyers that there are extreme differences in the review. Chacos have saved my feet over the years and I plan to buy again, I just have to swallow my pride and buy an 8. Sizing is the only reason for the 3 stars.

I LOVE Chaco flip flops, but for some reason, this year (or perhaps this particular model) has very loose straps. The old model stayed on my very narrow feet, but the newer models slides right off. Too bad, but I have to return them. :(

Suffering from plantar fasciitis and being a supinator I know the importance of not walking around barefoot. So, after LOTS of research I decided on these flip flops. They have excellent arch support. They are a solid flip flop. They are not uber comfortable, in my opinion. Maybe they become comfortable in time? I'm more concerned that they'll keep my foot pain at a minimum. They are also long, so if you have long toes, you'll be happy!! I do not have long toes but that's okay because I'm only going to wear them around the house. As always, Zappos is the best with customer service.

Flips that Flop! For tha past several years now, I have not been able to find Chaco flips that do not flop... For some reason, the straps are being made very loose... and are not adjustable! Too bad. I used to love these, and use them as slippers and all purpose sandals for "hanging around the house"... No more!

I used to have these awesome flips 3 years ago but lost them in a trip. I'm going backpacking again and of course I thought of these! I read one of the first reviews and was surprised to read one that said that they are making the straps wider. I have super narrow feet, this is why I used to love these...because of the perfect grip. I ordered them anyways because I had to try them for myself...and Oh No! They are making them wider than before! This is such a shame! I had to return them, sadly. Not good Chacos...not good.

This is a perfectly fine flip flop except for two things: 1) the price, and 2) the dots on the footbed, which are totally annoying. For the price, I expected this thing to really cradle my foot like it was custom-made for it. But, it did not. I thought it was just average. I don't even think I would have kept it for half the cost. It's just very average.

I have very wide feet. They were almost hanging over the edge. Not surprised there but the biggest problem is that the straps are too loose for it to be worn comfortably. My foot flops all over the footbed so the arch hits at the wrong place with each step.

Disappointing. Chaco has changed their flip flop. I wore these for years inside my house, outside for the day-to-day and on trips where I was on my feet long periods of time - like Disney World. Their arch support was superior in flip flops which helped foot fatigue. My middle school-aged daughter wanted a pair so I ordered them from Zappos. The foot bed is not as substantial and supportive as it used to be. The fabric top is not as thick and sturdy, and it doesn't keep the shoe on her foot. I tried it on and indeed it is too loose, has a stretched out feel. Somewhere along the line, they cheapened their product, or are producing it someplace different. So sad because I have worn these for years, and sold many others on them as well :( Not sure what brand we will switch to.

I've had a pair of these for 7 years and decided to get another, but sadly, what other reviewers said is correct: the straps are far too loose now! My ancient pair is snugger than the new ones and so they are uncomfortable to walk in. Returning them.

I'm a size 6.5 and ordered a 6, 7, and 6w to try and figure out my size. All pairs arrived with dramatically different strap tightness between the left and right sandal (one side ridiculously tight and the other ridiculously loose). So I ordered a few more pairs and the same thing happened. Eventually I was able to mix and match different sets to get one normal fitting pair. They're great if you can get a pair that are made right. Good luck!

So disappointing that the straps are wider than they used to be. I have depended on flip flops for years due to the tighter straps for a narrower foot. Please go back to previous sizing!

sole is stiff and straps are too soft to hold it on your foot. dangerous flip flop also, I am 9.5 and tired of being forced to buy shoes in the wrong size. Hey Zappos--9 is too small, 10 is too big! not an asset on an already loosely constructed sandal

This has been my favorite flip flop for years, but it seems like something has changed in the design since I last purchased it in May 2015. The straps feel a lot tighter and the bed of the shoe seems a little smaller. I've double checked multiple times that I ordered the same size because this feels so different from the earlier versions I've owned. Breaks my heart a bit to return them, but them aren't as comfortable now so not worth keeping.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I'm super disappointed I wasted $60 on these after reading a recommendation on a travel blog and all the positive reviews. I think it's partly because my expectations were so high. In reality, they are NOT comfortable. The first thing that shocked me how HEAVY they are - they're that really dense rubber. Also, I HATE the bumps on the sole. Every step is distracting. The straps are too loose, and while the shoes don't seem at risk of falling off, they're loose enough that I can't help but scrunch my toes a bit when I walk. Also they hit the arch on my right foot weird, and the straps started to rub uncomfortably. Unfortunately, when I tried them on inside, I couldn't tell how bad they were, so I gave them a go outside for a few miles and thus ruined my chances of a return. I'm going back to my beloved yoga mat flip-flops by Sanuk (never should have tried anything else!), which have always been amazingly comfortable.

These have changed... so sad! I got my first pair from an outdoors store in 2013, where I could try them on in person and I was in LOVE! I like the look of these so much better than the Z straps, I think their typical sandals look silly with the plastic buckle, like kids shoes with crazy colours. Now, even after trying to break in the newer version of these (I didn't feel the older needed any breaking in), the footbed is still harder, too firm imo; unlike the older version (not made by Wolverine World Wide) where you could press with your thumb and feel some bounce. As others have noticed, yes, the straps are TOO loose as well as the toe post being longer, so this creates an overall looser fit. I have narrow feet and I'm devastated that these are no longer comfortable for me. Also what happened to the Vibram soles?

I ordered these this spring and loved the pair that I received until my dog chewed one of the straps. They fit perfectly and I liked them so much that I ordered a pair to replace the destroyed one. The second pair is way too wide as the strap are way too loose. I am not able to wear them comfortably as they do not want to stay on my feet. I'm very disappointed that the sizing varied so much when ordering the same exact pair.

Always enjoyed Chaco's brand in the past, but the strapping on this style is very loose fitting. It feels as if they will fly off of my feet. I kept them, but they will be for puttering in the yard.

I am so disappointed. I have been wearing these Chaco flip-flops for over 15 years. I have gone through a few pairs in that time, and not because they wore out, but because I would misplace them. I always knew I could return to Zappos and get another pair and be good to go. Until now. I read other reviews that stated that Merrill has since bought the company, and that the straps on the shoes now are much looser, to accommodate a wider foot. BOO! They should have made two versions, then. I can't even get these to stay on my feet after a step now... they slide right off. There's a good 1/4 inch of space between the top of my foot and the bottom of the strap. Utterly disappointed. If you liked how these fit over the course of the past decade or so, they don't fit like that anymore. Consider yourself warned.

I have 2 old pairs of this exact Chaco Flip and they fit perfectly. They are starting to look old and weary so thought I'd better buy a new pair before they discontinue making them. I read the reviews and was skeptical of buying them as one review said she almost walked out of the sandal due to the straps being way too loose. Well that was my experience as well. Unfortunately, I will return them but now I cannot replace my old Chaco's flip-flops and afraid to order anything Chaco's. if they have revised their sizing design.

I have been wearing a pair of this style of Chaco flips for years, around the house all day every day, all summer, and loved them. The new ones are almost identical except for one thing -- the strap that goes between your toes is much longer than before, making the shoes hard to keep on. They feel like they're sliding around and are going to fall off my feet. Can't wear them. So very disappointed.
