The newer model of sandal has straps that are WAY larger than the ones I am currently wearing. Guess they figure our feet are much fatter than they were a few years ago. Will never buy again and am returning these.

Chacos, what happened? I've worn the EcoTread Flip for years and loved them. Comfortable right out of the box I wore them hiking, boating, and around town. The straps are now entirely too big and my feet flop around on the footbed. I've tried two different sizes and returned both. Very disappointing.

These Chaco flips have been my favorite shoe year round for years. Recently the last 3 pair I have purchase had way longer straps than they used to. First thought I got a defective pair, but it has happened every time since. Called customer service and asked them about it, and they said there is nothing they can do about it, but I could have them custom fitted for extra money. Don't like my foot flopping around with the long straps. Really uncomfortable feeling they will slip off. Chaco make them to the specifications you used to make them. Why change a good thing? Since the switch to China made quality and fit have gone way downhill!!! Straps fray after a couple months, where as before they would hold out for years before fraying. Sometimes, hopefully, quality and customer satisfaction should take priority over making more money. Not happy with Chaco anymore.

This is the most uncomfortable shoe that I have purchased from Zappos. And I do buy several. :). I can't even walk across the floor with these sandles. They kill my feet. I HIGHLY recommend for NO one to buy these. For sure a waste of money!!!

My four year old EcoTread sandals are starting to fail. This new pair is not as supportive. It looks the same, but the arch support is very different. Very disappointed.

In some shoes I can get by with a medium width (Clarkes, Crocs), but if I see a wide available I'll go for that just to reduce that break in time. Ordered these in a wide and I swear they're more narrow than some regular width sandals that I own. Very disappointed. If you normally wear a wide and are thinking these are a good choice, these are not the sandals for you. Unfortunately I wore them outside for a few minutes trying to convince myself that they weren't extremely painful so it's doubtful that I can return them now. I'll have to try and stretch them out, or figure out how to make the straps about 1/4" looser.

Chacos says that these will "last way beyond your average summer sandal." Mine didn't -- one side of the webbing came unglued and pulled out of the footbed. Chacos considers this "normal wear and tear" and wouldn't honor their warranty. I purchased these because everyone told me they'd last for years. It turns out, I have $5 flips from the Gap that have lasted longer. These were a waste of money.

These are very pretty but there is something about the design where they do not stay on the foot. The straps were floppy on me, and the sole is heavy, so it felt like the sandals were falling off my feet. I had a friend try them who has thicker feet than I do and the straps fit but she still said the sandals felt like they were falling off. I do like the shape of the arch support and wish the sole were lighter and straps were adjustable and/or situated differently.
