These are awesome shorts! I now own them in several colors. They are lightweight yet sturdy. They are short enough to be cool, but long enough for a bit of modesty. They come out of the dryer looking great. They are extremely comfortable for any type of activity...hiking or dining! They are true to size, hit just enough below the belly button to be comfy, but high enough to cover muffin tops. I'm 57 and very active, 5'7" and 130 lbs. I am normally a size 6 and these shorts in size 6 fit perfectly. Buy them!!

What these shorts lack for in style they make up for in wearability, packability, and comfort. They wear like champs and can be dressed up with a cute top or used for hiking. They do dit low but don't show any bulges. The pockets are large enough and easy to use.

These are the best shorts ever. They fit perfectly and are not too short. Nice quality and well made. There is a hidden zip pocket on the right leg. They wash well and dry quickly. Like other Kuhl pants/shorts, order one size up.

Love these shorts! The fabric is sturdy without being stiff and the zip pocket on the right leg is just big enough to hold my phone for picture-taking on the trail. Yes, Kuhl does run a size smaller than other brands, but I can overlook that for the quality.

They are not as lightweight fabric as other Kuhl pants and skirts I bought. I don't wear shorts too much, but these are great, very comfortable, and not too short.

I have two others pairs of the same short which I love, but this particular pair is made smaller than the other two and I'm very sad about it because I love these shorts. Normally I would rate these shorts at a 5, but these don't fit properly.

Nice shorts, not too short but short enough to allow movement. The fabric is heavy enough for athletic wear but stretches too. I plan to buy more of these shorts.

I like the quality of these shorts and the fit is flattering. I wear them rolled. I'm 5'4" 122. Ordered size 6 and they're a little loose, I'm keeping them but I think next time I'd order a 4.

These are my new favorite shorts. I'm 5'6", 137 lb and ordered an 8, which fits perfectly. I love the higher back and overall the fit and style are great!

Love these shorts! I had ordered a size up and had to return them for the smaller size. I normally wear a size 12 and it fits perfectly. I have a more boy shaped body style not wide in the hips and I think that makes the difference in needing to size up. The length is perfect falls about 4 inches above my knees. I am 5'7" and weigh 160lbs.

I was really not Keen on spending this much on these shorts *but* they are so nice. I'm an athletic but curvy kinda gal, like if Marilyn Monroe but with muscles. These fit my waist and legs - whooo! I did go up a size (I wear an 8 in Columbia and TNF). They ride a bit more on my hips, but that's cool. A definite re-buy.

These are the best shorts I've bought in a really long time. They are really well-made – no worries about buttons falling off. All the seams are reinforced and they are super comfortable. I really like the length of them as well--very flattering. They run a little big as I ordered an eight and I probably could've gotten away with the six.

These shorts are great! I am always happy to find a pair of shorts that are comfortable and feel like they will last me a couple of season. If you like comfort and durability, check these out. I did have to move up a size, however.

My favorite shorts of this season! They are not too short, yet not too long - the perfect fit. They leave plenty of room for the thigh, yet are very streamlined in design. I'm planning on ordering another pair or two!

I really love these shorts and wish I found them sooner. I have a very hard time finding shorts as I have hips and thighs and DO NOT like short shorts or a real tight fit. These are a great length, and the fit is loose enough, but don't fall below my hips all the time. I'm not self conscious in them. I would say the fit is accurate. I just wish they had jean shorts in this brand/ fit.

I love these! I purchased them for our honeymoon in Mexico. They are very comfortable, a great length, and they wash well. I recommend you try these. You cannot lose especially when purchasing from Zappos!

In my experience, KUHL shorts for women run small. I am a size 14 but I purchased a size 16. They fit nicely. Neither tight or loose. I love the fabric, feel and look. They are slimming and comfortable. I would buy more if they were available in more colorful colors.

I wanted to love these shorts but they don't work for me. I'm very active, 5'5 and 125 pounds with a relatively big butt and big thighs. These shorts were fine for my thighs but too tight across my butt. I'm certain that going up a size would make them way too big everywhere else. I don't like tight clothes and tend to buy things a little big, but these were too snug in the backside even for someone who likes more fitted clothing. It's kind of a weird tightness and I had trouble figuring out where it was coming from. Maybe it's the stitching that makes them a bit binding? Whatever the case, I'm sure they'd be great for someone with a smaller booty, but they're a return for me. They seem to be solid quality with nice, athletic styling.

These are nice shorts, but I returned them because some of the other kuhl styles fit me better.

Pink color is much more purple in person. Not a fan, but shorts fit well.
