Bought for son that works outside in the Texas heat. Today was 112 and he was thankful for his hat. Protects while being light to allow for ventilation.

This hat is the only hiking/fishing hat my husband will wear. It provides great sun protection, and keeps his head cool, at the same time.

I've been using this hat for the last 3 years. Being in the landscaping business I work out side regularly. Sun protection is key. The light weight / breathable feel, fairly hidden draw string to adjust snugness, and excellent sun protection makes this hat a go to for me. Highly recommend.

I've never had a hat that really made my job easier. I use it everyday best investment I've made when it comes to trying to cool off or keep out of the sun. I appreciate Columbia for what they do! Really thinks about the customer

I ordered this hat to protect my skin from the sun in the back. I have a floppy brimmed hat but it isn't long enough in the back. I haven't used it yet because we are in grey winter but I'm sure it will be perfect. It is a little dull, color wise, so I bought some ribbon to attach on the crown and it will be perfect.

Perfect to cover up ears & neck for driving the convertible or painting the house..even helps keep you cool with the slightest movement .

Great sun protection. Great material. Dries quickly. Very smart color choices. No outlandish advertising logo. Adjustable. Fair price. What more could you ask for.

I ordered the hat for a fishing trip that we were taking to Canada. It is light weight which is great for not only hot weather, but also it takes up very little room when packing. As always, love Zappos great service!

Really awesome hat -- light-weight (we got light khaki color so it will reflect heat and keep head cool) and fits my 10-year old perfectly. The neck flap length is spot-on, the toggle at the back lets you tighten or loosen the cap, and the brim is long enough to keep the sun off the entire face. Smart design!

I am impressed with the quality and the fact that it is so light weight. Fits nicely. I plan to use this for running and hiking to provide extra protection in the sun. This is a much better product than I expected

I bought this hat while on vacation in Hawaii. I needed some sun protection while ziplining and it fit under the helmet. It is very light weigh and comfortable to wear, and offers protection from both the sun and insects. I liked it so much that I bought a second one. It's great with the top down in my Miata, too.

My 2nd one of this hat. Keep the first one for mowing, sweaty work. Keep the new one for walking the red carpet on sunny days.

Great cap! Flap is a little bothersome, but it does the job with the sun.

I bought this cap to protect my head from sun exposure while boating. I haven't tried it boating yet. I may have to devise a restrainer to prevent the wrap around from becoming a sail while boating.

This hat does a really good job providing the coverage you need when trying to protect yourself from the sun. However, the cape could be a little longer (I have a long neck) and it could use some more vents at the top. It worked really well when I was fully exposed to the sun for an extended period of time during a hike, but it got really hot quicker than I expected at the top of my head. It did keep my neck and the base of my back of my head cool, and it definitely saved me from sunburn. Aside from my quibbles, I do very much recommend this hat, and super dig that the fit is adjustable with the cinch cord!!

My main issue with Columbia products is the moniker "Columbia" appearing on every clothing product. The name detracts visually from the product. The picture of the hat shows a small logo without "Columbia". The hat arrives with "Columbia" alongside the logo. Good grief! The logo is sufficient. Great fit though...

the look is a bit strange when you are wearing it but it is truly functional with great coverage & protection.

Bought this to protect my neck while working in the garden this summer. Lightweight and fits my head well. No more red neck after gardening this year!

I live & work in the Florida sun everyday. I avoid the sun because I sunburn easy. I have several hats of this same style from other brands. I bought this one and it is my favorite now because its a good fit, the material drys quick, and the neck hood and brim are just right to protect you. Everyone makes this style but Columbia version is top notch and looks so far to last thru daily wear and use.

Bought to use while working outside on a wildlife ranch in Texas Hill Country. Works well for keeping neck protected from sun. Wish it were easier to clean.
