The material is very light and breathable. They feel very comfortable through a large rage of motion and dry quickly. After get wet, they were completely dry very fast in about 15 minutes. These are now my go to hiking and outdoor sport shorts, I would highly recommend them.

I'm a 6 ft, 1in, 205. I wear a 36 on avg. I read the reviews that said these shorts run a little small. That's not the case. These run true to size. They are lightweight, and stylish. The short breathe well, also. I bought a 38 in this short. I'll need to get a 36 instead.

Let me start by saying I really like these shorts. They have a light comfortable fabric that I could live in. They move with me comfortably and the size was perfect. I have two small critiques that seemed to stand out. The pockets in the front are a little dainty and it feels like it wasn't built to hold a current size cell phone. I don't feel comfortable keeping my phone in a front pocket. The other thing is the button. You're wondering what could be wrong with a button. Well, it's long! There's about 1/2" of button on these shorts and when you wear them all day and combine that with the belt then it pushes into your stomach for hours making it a little uncomfortable. Make the pockets a little deeper and the button on the front shorter and these are perfect!

I am very pleased with these shorts. The material is perfect for the hot Tucson summer. I would give them 5 stars except for the mesh side pockets. The mesh tends to catch on things and I would like the pockets to be a little deeper. The extra "cargo" pockets are great.

Great fit and material is durable

I bought several pairs of these in 38's because that's my normal waist size. But, I've got thick athletic legs and they were all too tight. Got a pair and 40's and they are perfect. I'd say if you aren't as athletic of build the 38's would be ok. But all mine ran small. Shorts are very light weight and enjoyable to wear fishing or when it's hot! Once I got the right size I really like them!

These comfortable shorts are made from lightweight fabric and are versatile enough to wear for everything from daily casual use to camping and other outdoor activities. The shorts come with a nylon belt, which I didn't find necessary. There is a small amount of elastic in the waistband, and the shorts fit well without it. I opted for the 10" length which hits just around the knee. Overall, I find this to be a high quality and versatile product - typical for Columbia.

Lightweight and fast drying. Good fishing shorts, Cool and stylish with large cargo pockets.

Light weight material that wears well and washes well. The cloth belt that comes with the shorts is a nice complement to the product but it could a use a clip or loop that would keep the belt contained so it doesn't dangle loose.

Cool and comfortable, light-weight shorts for hiking in hot weather. Would be nice to have more than one zippered pocket. Find myself checking the back pockets often as the hook & loop tab doesn't always hold and the pocket opens...best to not put anything valuable in the rear pockets.

Great pair of shorts. They look very nice, fit to the size, and have a bit of give so fit shouldn't be an issue. The material is very light and comfortable. I would highly recommend these shorts.

Comfortable shorts. Nice, light feel. Dry quickly if they get wet. Main pockets are a bit shallow and velcro closures are small on other pockets. Luckily there is a zipped pocket for valuables. If front pockets were deeper (so things like a phone or wallet didn't fall out), I'd give it five stars. If your looking for easy to wear shorts, you will like these.

Great light weight pair of shorts. Ordered two different colors, same size. One fit great, the other was a bit snug.

These shorts are very lightweight and wear very well with a broad variety of tops. The attached belts are convenient, easy to use and color match well with the shorts.

I love the silver ridge line, I own several pairs of both shorts and pants along with button up shirts as well. I only gave it 4 stars because the shorts and pants are always a size small. Knowing this now is not an issue, I normally wear a 34 waist but with these I have to order 36. Other than that, they are awesome!

The quality and function of the shorts are excellent but they need more room in the seat of the pants.

These shorts seem to be made well, as is generally true of Columbia products. But they are very thin, making me wonder how long they will last. A previous reviewer bought these in yellow and reported that you can see through them. I believe it; they are that thin. I got them in fossil and they are not see-through. The buckle on the included belt is a plastic snap closure, so it will probably break. But the loops are big enough to support a wider belt. Overall, these shorts are great for hot summer days and very comfortable. But will they last?

Those clothes are exelent

I bought these shorts for golf. I wanted them to be comfortable and cool for the summer. They fit the bill on both. I wear a 33 waist and the 34 inch waist fit well, I like the look and feel of these shorts I would recommend them.

I have these in light grey and loved them so I ordered them again in green. The green fit snug. Still good shorts and functional but the light grey pair is way better and gets much more use based only on the fact they fit true to my size.

Appears to be well made, unknown regarding fit or quality as this is a Christmas gift.
