This is still an excellent shirt for travel. Washes and dries out overnight and looks good even if not pressed. My one disappointment is that the pocket design has been modified from the earlier version of this shirt. The breast pockets used to open fully with a pull tab and a velcro closure in the center of each flap. Now the tab has been eliminated and each flap is stitched down along its outer edge, making them impossible to open fully. Try stuffing a passport or boarding pass in there - what were you thinking, Gert? Also annoying - this flap design is not disclosed in the web site description of the product.

These pants are awesome. I live in S. Louisiana and i work outdoors. My job requires me to wear long pants, which makes for an even hotter summer. These pants keep me as cool as possible considering my work conditions. They dry very quickly. The only issue I have with the pants is that they run a bit long. I normally wear a 32" inseam...had to return my original order for a 30" inseam and they still a touch too long. When they are wet, the material stretches, which makes them WAY TOO LONG. I end up having to roll the bottoms to avoid constantly stepping on the pants with my heels. Other than that, the pants are absolutely awesome.

These long sleeve shirts are great for both casual wear everyday as well as your favorite activity in the sun. The quick transformation to short sleeves keeps you cooler too. The UPF 50 is great protection from the sun. Highly recommend this shirt

These pants look great and the quality is fine, but the style doesn't fit my slender hips and full thighs. They pull through the hip and upper leg when I lift my knee upward. Not comfortable for hiking for me.
So sorry but must send them back.
A larger pair won't fix the problem because the pants fit fine in the waist and from the knee down.
It would be awesome if you would offer a longer pant, inseam 35" or 36".

The length was 1/2" longer than the stated size.
More selection of dark colors would be helpful. You really don't want light colors for hiking pants.

Took me 3 goes to get something that nearly fits. Waist lines are small even though there is some elasticity, and legs are extremely long, but that's mainly because these pants sit lower than conventional trousers. So for someone who would normally buy 33"W x 32"L, I had to go with 34"W and 30"L. Lower rating on quality because of the velcro used on pockets - does not secure wallet pocket at all. But love the style, which is why I'm keeping them!

I love the material and feel of the pants. I do wish the pants fit more true to size. This type of pant should not fit snug through the hips and legs. I had to buy 2 sizes up in the waist to get the fit I wanted in the rest of the pants. That said, again, I love the overall feel and comfort (once I had the waist taken in).

The pants fit great and the sizing is better than most pants I have ordered previously. Now keep in mind I have only worn and washed these pants once, but they are very comfortable and appear pretty well made; the durability of this pant is still to be determined.

Tried a 36 first and they are pretty tight in the crotch. I have a bit of a belly and though there's an elastic waistband, the belly causes the crotch to ride up. So I bought a 38W pair because I like everything else about them but the 38 is too big. So, if you are a true size in the waist these are great, light and comfortable.

Size runs a little small so I got the next larger size and the fit is perfect. The material is very lightweight and should be comfortable for summer activities. I am very satisfied with this product.

I purchased these pants as a replacement for some North Face nylon pants I had bought several years ago, which were discontinued. Nylon pants like these are excellent for travelling because they're lightweight, pack small, have cargo pockets for a passport and goodies needed in an airplane seat, and can be easily washed in a hotel-room sink.
When I first tried on these Columbia pants, I was not enthusiastic. The cut in the legs included darts on the knees to take in material, giving them more of a form-fitting appearance that, I thought, may not be roomy enough for comfortable walking. But the workmanship was excellent. Having sewn a few pairs of pants and shirts myself, I could only admire the topstitches on those darts, and hoped the skilled Vietnamese seamstress who sewed them was being adequately compensated.
In the end I did not return these pants and am very happy with them. Though I haven't yet tried hiking in them, they look great and are perfectly comfortable for everyday use. They're even lighter and more compact even then other nylon pants I own, making them easy to stuff in bike panniers or in a small suitcase. I also like the fact that one cargo pocket is zipped, i.e. more secure. The fact that they don't have those zip-off legs makes them appear less like hiking shorts, and more appropriate to wear at work. I will likely buy another pair.

Loved similar pants with the shorts so got these without shorts option. Fit is good, light, drys quickly when wet. Play golf in them as no denim is allowed and get comments asking where I got them. These have real belt loops in contrast to the ones that zip into shorts, that is an improvement. However, the belt does slip and loosen a little if doing activies such as golf.

I purchased a 32 inch inseam. When I measured it from crotch , it was actually 33. But, because of the "relaxed fit" style of this cargo pant, the crotch hangs looser, making the pant lenght at least 3 1/2 inches too long. I was able to sew it myself (don't like to have to do that), but if you cannot --you may have to factor in a $15 tailor fee to hem them.
The fabric seems perfect for our jungle adventures in Borneo and other adventure travel. But --be careful on the length or you will be walking on them.

I am only 5' 6", need 28 inseam. Had to have the 30" inseam shortened.
28" inseam not available?

Wore them several times for a Disneyworld vacationn, needed a lightweight long pants that look good extremely functional and breathable. The temperature was 80 in the day and in the 50's at night so these worked out very well. Extra zip cargo pockets were great located excellent for getting what you needed out. I am fairly thin and was surprised the crotch area fits as snug as it does, may want to go for the extra inch size up especially if you are marginal. Surpriseingly the shorts I bought had the extra crotch space though they are the same pants.

I have other Columbia shirts and these shirts stack up with them well. They are comfort and dry quickly. I am impressed that they are so supple and yet have a 50 spf rating. Most shirts with that rating seem to have a stiff feel to them. Great shirts but my only negative is that the neck is much larger than the neck in other large shirts that I own. I usually keep the top button unbuttoned but in these shirts I button it because it feels so loose otherwisea minor issue.

Looks good at work, and works good on the trail. I like these for travel as well, can give them an easy wash if need be, stay relatively wrinkle free, and you can look good (unlike the typical tourist wearing technical clothing, the fanny pack wearing old, or the slob backpacker). Works in a wide range of climates, hot/humid to cold/dry. Oh, and the material is super soft/slick (hard to describe but i love it), and seems durable enough (though may not handle bushwacking well?).
Slimmer fit than most Columbia gear (which are grossly oversized), so I guess you could say, its normally sized. I think this has to do with Columbia rebranding as not just a box store cheap outdoor brand, which caters to the typical fat American. I am 5'11" 185 and athletically built wearing a medium. Has the nice tailored shirt look that is popular these days, slim but not tight or restricting. A large might be a bit better for a lot of really hot outdoor use, but I'm primarily using this as a casual/work/travel shirt and the fit is spot on.
Love the updates to the shirt from last year: hidden buttons on sleeves, extra neck coverage flap under collar, tacking down the pocket flaps on the outside, and solving the open mesh flap divider problem last years model had (couldnt slip the shirt on button upped without ending up with your arms sticking out the vent holes).
There is still some work to do:
-Stretch! either add some panels, or make the entire shirt with a bit of stretch
-Antimicrobial/stink finish to the fabric
-small snaps instead of velcro on the pockets

I purchased a small shirt. I wear a 15 1/2 neck, 33 sleeve. As advertised, these are right for me. BUT, the shoulders are much narrower than I would have expected. A medium with the above neck and sleeve dimensions would fit better. I've never seen a small shirt with those parameters. I'll keep it because the fit is "OK", but I don't know anyone who is a true "small" with 33" arms and a 15 1/2 neck.
That being said, I really like the design and material. Perfect for hiking and travel.

The shirt is fine when pulling right out of the dryer. If you need it for work if you work in the sun and need to appear more professional, you're going to want to iron it. Otherwise, it's a great fit and looks good.

I did buy a second pair of the pants, however I prefer velcro pocket closures and would like to see the addition of a cell phone pocket. Good job with having the belt be removable.

I returned my first purchase because it was cut too tight in the hips and waist (and I am fairly skinny there). I like the product otherwise. Fairly soft for nylon, good features, well constructed. I have ordered a size larger which I expect will be a little loose in the waist but looser in the hips.

I have been wearing Columbia pants for more than 10 years and these are the first to have the wrong inseam. I had to have these shortened by almost 3 inches to keep from walking on the pant legs. The pants fit me correctly in the waist. They are very comfortable and cooler than other pants I have. I wear these on hot days for working outside and hiking.

I had the prior version and liked it better. I am a size 36 and I ordered a 36 and it is a little tight across the front and crouch. You do need to order a size bigger to be comfortable; not a good thing Columbia. Both back pockets have a small velcro strip to keep it down, but it is not adequate. I would prefer one back pocket to be zipper and the other a velcro about twice the size. I will take the new pants to the seamstress and have her add another velcro strip and maybe a back pocket zipper. The security pocket is the left cargo pocket and it is at the kneecap and it bangs into your kneecap all the time; so you can only carry something very light weight. While I am still a fan of Columbia sportswear I am concerned that the accountants are cutting cost and now in charge instead of people that love the brand.

Everything is perfect, quality is good. But only one thing - material looks a little bit thin. Time will tell how durable it is
