These are super lightweight. If you're looking for hiking pants for summer months, these are your pants. They arent going to do well in the cold, but the dry pretty fast after getting wet.
One important sizing note: I had to send the first pair I bought back. You'll want your waist to be a size up and your inseam to be a size down (at least).

Love the Silverridge.
I've had several pairs of the convertible pants all in waist 30. Perfect fit. So I bought the non-convertible "cargo" version in 30" but they were slightly too small. (The website DID say they ran a little small.) So I returned and bought the next size up (32") Too big (as expected). I just wish they made these great pants in 1" increments. A 31" would fit me perfectly. 8^(
Otherwise I would give them a 5 star.

These pants are great. Lightweight, good for gardening, which is why I bought them for my husband. Two words of caution...they run long, so although he wears a 34 length in every other pant, we ordered 32. We knew to do that because he has another pair that are 34 length and they are way too long. Got 36 to have them loose for gardening. That worked. But, I ordered gravel, which looks gray on the website. I also figured that, in life, gravel is gray. Well, they are green. I've never seen green gravel before. I guess I should have called Columbia to double check the color...but also suggest they use a more appropriate name for green pants, particularly if they show up gray on the website. My husband kept them though, since they are just for gardening.

We haven't had the high 90 degree weather that I purchased these for but so far they seem to be exactly what I was looking for. I use these under my riding pants more as a base layer rather than an outer garment. I can remove my riding pants and have comfortable pants to walk around in.
I do some touring on my Motorcycle and need pants that do not add heat or bulk. The wicking attribute is a plus for cooling as it slows the evaporation of perspiration but helps keep me dry on long rides.
The pants are small in the waist but not in length, purchased a size larger and they fit fine.
The last long ride was 11,460 miles round trip. 72 day mostly camping, another reason for lighter weight. On a Motor Cycle the requirement for light weight and pack small and light is imperative.

This is a great shirt. I wear them often.
Interestingly, not all Silver Ridge shirts are made from the same material or in the same way. This traditional Silver Ridge (i.e. non-plaid), features a basketweave texture on the inside of the shirt which does wear faster and catch on things, such as if you have a belt with sharp edges or hook and loop fasteners.
The other version (plaid) is actually my favorite, because it does not have a basketweave texture on the inside -- so it is not likely to pull or catch on something.
Silver Ridge shirts do have odd sizing. I am typically an L in 95% of shirts, but the M fits me perfectly, and the L is way too large. It seems to me that there is an unnaturally large jump in size between the M and L.

Only worn these once, but really like them and they are very comfortable. I expect to get a lot of use out of them.

These pants are light and breathable and also tough! Great for all day wear, from trail to street.

These pants are great for light work or just casual wear. However, if you intend to do some real tough hiking or work, the material is not strong enough. I often carry a large pocket knife and after only a few times taking in an out of the pocket the pant began to tear. Also, I often do workouts (pushups, burpies....etc....) during my hikes/light jogs and the pant has begun to wear thin on the knees and around the belt loops. But I often beat the heck out of my clothes, so if you are just wearing them for light use.....great pant.

Pants work great as a summer or fall-weather hiking pant. They are very thin and work well when you don't want to wear shorts or you just need a little bit more covering.
I bought them to keep ticks and grass off my legs during summer hikes. Fit well and get the job done.
I have not tried them out in wet weather to see how they perform. They won't give you much warmth on cold days.

I absolutely detest sunscreen. Your hands get greasy, dirt sticks to it, and you always miss a spot and get a weird sunburned patch. Not with this shirt! UPF 50 means you can be in the sun all day and not return home looking like a lobster. While it's not quite as cool as my Airgill shirt, it does a good job of wicking away sweat and letting in air. I have spent many days in the hot TX sun with this shirt and it's always kept me cool and safe from skin cancer.
Docked it one star due to not being quite as breathable as some of my other Columbia shirts but it's a great shirt to have in the arsenal when the days aren't 100+ degrees.

I'm grateful for the reviews of these pants. My waste is a 35" measured so typically purchase 36"x34". Ordering one size up, 38"x34", like some reviews advised was great. The fit was just a bit loose but very comfortable. The lightweight material with a closer fit is not what this 59 year old was after anyway, haha. The cargo pockets don't have flaps, sleek, and won't catch on drawer pulls, airline armrests, etc. It might help to sew the cargo pocket openings maybe 3/8" at the edges so loose objects won't slip out when zippers not closed. Very comfortable in 90 degrees plus.

These pants are amazing. I would own 10 pair if I could. I wore them in India and the pants were true to their function, the sweat was wicked away from my legs and dried quickly. They are amazingly comfortable too and breath great. I would give them five stars but the velcro patches for the pockets seem a little small, which is fine, but it feels like they won't last a long time. But in all honesty, velcro can only survive so many washes and uses before it just gets worn out.

As advertised - very functional, well performing shirt. Not the most stylish, but very flattering.

These pants are very comfortable and lightweight. Maybe a little too lightweight for walking through brush or thorny plants. They do not shed water, so if you get a light color, be aware that water will show, but it dries quickly. They do run a little small. I usually wear a 38X32, but a 40X32 fits great.

This is the slimmest Columbia shirt I can find, but is still a little big for my small frame.

For a given waist size, the fit around the hips is very tight. Recommend ordering one size larger in waist than your normal size.

I always check fit of clothes before removing tags and laundering but I quit that with Columbia due to consistency of fit. I have 15 - 20 Columbia shirts, including maybe 8 Silver Ridge bought at retail store, Cheyenne, and online . People often compliment the shirts and good colors, and I enjoy telling them that they are almost bulletproof. Unfortunately, the sizing is noticeably smaller on the 2 Silver Ridge shirts I just received during 1/14. I'm a little disappointed.

Ordered these for my husband. He loves them, definitely more for spring summer than winter. They do run a tad small. I asked him if we should trade them in for a bigger size and he said no so they must not be that much more smaller.

Verified Purchase
The fit was good and the lightweight material would be good for warm weather activities, but the fabric was pretty noisy when walking around.

The shirt is great for hot weather, the size is a little small than other Columbia models. Will purchase it again.
Grill color is a really good option.

These shirts seem well made and sturdy. The cut is loose enough that I can move my arms without restriction. I find the torso to be cut a little "boxy" and loose...I wish it was a little more streamlined, but I'm not a big guy - so perhaps this works well for the larger folks.
My only issue with the shirts are that the fabric is a little slick - kind of like nylon - and it doesn't hang all that well or feel great. Then again it doesnt feel horribly "plastic"...it's just not really natural feeling.

They're great, light weight material, quick drying, very comfortable & lots of pockets!! They're also available in shorts. In my opinion they run a tad small(I like a looser fit) so I got them several sizes larger. I made a few adjustments as well, adding a draw string inside the waist & zippers on the main left and right pockets.
If you're going to be near fire or sparks just be aware that the smallest ember will leave a hole in this material. This does however give one the opportunity to apply a unique patch, thus adding "character" to the garment..

as others have said - sizing is on the tight side. Lovely latch for the belt but a bit hard to get used to. Very light and feel good on. Typical durable Columbia quality.
Bought these for the tropics.

My inseam is 30". However, had to take it to a tailor to shorten it. That was an expenditure that I did not appreciate. I did note a previous customer's review mentioning the fact of the excessive length of the pants.

Like the pants very much but have two small problems:
1. I wear a 35/31 in a pair of slacks--to get a good fit in these pants I bought a 36/30, i.e. order a slightly larger waist and a slightly shorter length.
2. the names of the colors are unintelligible. Ex: tusk is a medium khaki--gravel is a dark green, etc. Wish they would be a little less 'cutesy' with the names
Otherwise is a good pants
