I had a pair of these in Nubuck a few years back and they were the most comfortable sandals I had ever had. I tried a pair of leather ones from a local store and they were too stiff which ended up leaving blisters on my feet. I ordered these in hopes they would be as soft as the Nubuck ones were and they are. These are so comfortable and the metallic color is great. From the minute I put them on they fit perfectly and there was no breaking in that needed to be done. I highly recommend this style and this color/material. I have been holding out on getting them due to the price but am currently nearing the end of pregnancy and had to get something comfortable that I could slip on. These were the only sensible choice and the buckle means if I do have some swelling in my feet I can adjust them to fit instead of buying a temporary sandal. The best part is I know I will have them for quite a while and enjoy wearing them every time I put them on.

It's no wonder Mephisto Helen sandals are so popular. They are both beautiful and comfortable. I had almost given up on finding a pretty summer sandal which would be as supportive of my high arches as my custom orthotics. Even Birkenstocks don't support like these do, unless I spend an additional fee to have them re-made with high arch footbeds. Mephistos "as-is" are inexpensive by comparison! Plus, these are elegant and graceful-looking, unlike Birks. I'm so glad to have found these! Try them--you won’t be disappointed!

Love the sandals. No breaking in period and a great fit. I've had lots of compliments on the color that I have. Will buy these again and with the selection of colors it will be soon.

I broke in my first pair of Helens on a trip to Europe three summers ago. The support had finally worn out and I ordered a replacement pair. I disagree with the reviews about how the quality\/make of this shoe has deteriorated; unless my original pair from 3 years ago was part of the batch they\'re talking about, I can\'t see where anything has changed. The footbed of these shoes conforms to your foot and the arch support is excellent for a sandal. They are a little earthy, but not in a bad way, and not frumpy like many comfort styles out there. They are my go-to shoe for everyday activities.

The word needs to get out to keep buying these shoes because they are fantastic in so many ways. Excellent arch support and the most comfortable pair of sandals I've ever purchased, not to mention attractive looking as well. I'm a shoe fanatic, like a lot of women and these sandal's are by far the best I've ever purchased in my many years of life. I can't stop wearing them. I adore these shoes. Simply the best!

I wanted to love these so kept them, even though I should have returned them. The foot bed is really comfortable - a little softer than my Birkenstock sandals. Unfortunately, they’re just not quite long enough. I wear a women’s 11-12 depending on the shoe, so bought these in 43 which is the largest available size, and my feet tend to push forward and off the front edge. They seem a full size smaller than my Birkenstock size 43 sandals. I’m taking a point off style since they offer very limited and rather ugly colors in size 43.

I had to get a full size larger in these sandals, but they are very comfortable. The color is a perfect neutral. I get tons of compliments when I wear them.

Ordered these shoes at 9pm one evening and literally were delivered to my door by 2pm the next day, even with the free standard shipping I used. How the heck do they do that! Anyway, the shoes are super comfy and easy to slip on and off. I broke them in within a day or so because I pretty much live in these. Worth every penny!

These are the most comfortable shoes on the planet. I wish they were not just for warm weather. The suede covered cork sole is molded to support all parts of your foot, so I can walk all day long on cement in these and be perfectly comfortable not only in my feet, but my knees, hips and back as well. Worth every penny.

This sandal is worth every penny! This is my third pair of Helens! They look great, they feel great, my back doesn’t hurt at the end of the day and I don’t look like I am wearing orthopedic shoes! The shoes offer support, and durability and I am so glad I invested in myself and spent the money because none of the other comfort sandals I have ever worn can be compared to these wonderful sandals! I am a Mephisto gal for life; even if it means I buy shoes less often, I am going for the quality!

I have owned three pairs of this style and have worn them completely out. I bought this particular one for a trip and the first day didn\'t go so well. They rubbed a blister on my foot because the leather is so stiff and almost sharp on the edges. Mephisto sandals are the most comfortable on the planet, but opt for one with softer leather.

I have 13 pairs of Mephistos in my closet! All but three are "Helen" style. The other three are "All-Rounders". I’ve had complicated back surgery and these Mephistos have saved me. They give me the support I need and also look great with all my casual wear. Keep putting out new colors!

Sadly have to return these. It is indicated to order a size up, so I did, but I found that the shoe actually seems to run true to size. I'm a 6.5-7 and ordered the 8 and it was a full size too large. Zappos had them to my doorstep a DAY after I ordered them - amazing. Thank you.

Fabulous. I've worn this style for many years. It's very comfortable and easy on my feet and legs. It's my slipper in the winter, sandal in the summer.

This is my second pair of Mephisto’s "Helen" sandals. They are the most comfortable thong style sandals I have ever worn! And, they come in so many different colors and types of leather. If you like thong style sandals, you will like these!

Love these shoes. I have wide feet so Birkenstocks are not at all available to me. These are the next best thing and since I'm able to fit, they are the best thing. I always have a pair of these on hand! I'm hard on shoes; yet these last at least a year sometimes more. Your feet will appreciate the support, the room and, of course, the comfort of sandals all the while maintaining good support for arches! Excellent, I wouldn't dream of leaving home without them.

I've been wearing Mephisto Helen style for many years and have them in several colors. They are the shoes I put on every morning both summer and winter. The arch is perfect for me. Wish I could find a closed toe shoe that is as comfortable as this one, but so far I haven't. Also, Mephisto will resole and refurbish the top of the shoe one time for a fee of around $75.00. Overall, a great shoe.

These are the most comfortable shoes I own. I have hallux limitus (arthritic big toe) and can no longer get my feet into any type of pump. Arghh. But these are great, comfy scandals that look pretty nice for being granola head shoes. I have them in spice perle patent leather, which goes with almost everything. I don't think I would consider any other color besides black patent and possibly pewter. I just bought a backup pair so that I can wear them forever. I have received compliments on them from several people, one of whom I would not consider style challenged. Regarding size, I ordinarily take a 38 European size, but take a 37 in Mephisto scandals.

This is my favorite shoe. I have worn them for a long time and also worn out several pairs. I like to have several colors of Helen so that I can wear them with many outfits. They fit me just fine, I know what size to order online and it usually works. Some of the leathers are a bit stiffer (metallics) than others and will hurt between my toes but I stay away from the stiffer leathers or buy that color in the store for a better fit. Great shoe, lightweight, great fit.
