The more colors the merrier - These are the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned, and they have the added benefit of making my wide feet look slender. I take them on all my trips, as they are comfortable for sightseeing and fashionable. They look good with casual attire, whether pants, shorts, dresses or skirts. After my initial purchase of a black patent pair, I have been purchasing a new colour each year. I recently purchased my 5th pair of Mephisto Helen sandals in turquoise (I also have fuschia, blue, tan and black patent). I look forward to seeing the new colours each year. I recommend them most highly.

Wonderful - These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I´m on my fifth pair of these and plan on ordering fiver more pair.

This is an extremely comfortable shoe with "Design Pizazz." The diagonal strap has a slimming effect on the leg. The high arch makes these shoes so comfortable that I wear them as slippers around the house, year round (with socks in the winter); along with outdoor wear in spring and summer.

Comfort and style in one sandal - I own a pair of Helen's that I purchased nearly a year ago. After wearing them day in and day out (living in southern California, this is possible) almost exclusively since then, they are every bit as wonderful as the day I first purchased them. Definitely well worth the investment. They will outlast any other sandal. And for comfort, they cannot be beat!

Mephisto Helen - The best sandal! Best buy -many companies do similar, but the quality of the sole on these is superior. Can go anywhere in them and are very comfortable. I have narrow feet and hate thongs between my toes, but these are great!

Massaging - If you suffer from plantar fasciitis, these shoes relieve the pain and serve to massage your arch. I have walked miles in these without feeling disabled afterwards!

Best Sandals I've ever purchased! I normally don't like to spend very much money on sandals -but when I saw these, I knew I had to get them. I got the dark buck color with the soft leather and they're wonderful! I'm so glad that I bought them! I normally wear an 8.5 so I got the 9 -Euro sz. 39- it fits perfect! If you wear a 9 -you might want to go up a size.

Great arch support which is not evident in the picture - I love these sandals and wear them every chance I get. They're good for my feet and back. People come up to me and ask about them often. The black nubuck is quiet stylish. I have the red leather also. The "waxy" leather is harder and does not mold to your foot as readily, so I don't find them as comfortable. I wear an 8 American, but find that the 38 is a perfect fit. I cannot wear Birks -they're too wide and the arch is in the wrong place.

Waited many years to buy this shoe! I was always putting off purchasing this shoe (b/c there are many knockoffs for much less). These beds are the softest and most comfortable for this kind of cork latex shoe (Birks are very stiff, Naots are softer but quality is lesser). The style isn't so crunchy granola and I know that I can expect at least 5 years of hard wear from these shoes! My feet are wide and I went up the a larger size (usually i'm 7/7.5) to 8. It feels a bit narrow for my toes. but not narrow near the arch or anywhere else.

Amazing shoes! These are by far the most comfortable shoes in the world. I love the sleek style and the fit is perfect. I've ordered these in two colors and I'm excited to treat myself to one more pair for the Summer. I get compliments every time I wear them. No break-in required; these sandals are extremely comfortable from the onset. I often forget that I'm wearing shoes when I have my Mephisto's on.

Don't Leave Home without These shoes! I purchased my first pair of Helen in 97 and just bought another pair. They are the best sandals. I also own a pair of Birks and hardly wear them now, these are much better and much more comfortable. When I want a comfortable pair of shoes, these are the ones I pack, these shoes have been with me in South America, Europe, Asia and back home again, as I said "Never leave home without them!"

The best - This is the best sandal I've ever owned. It has a footbed that is second to none. The best part, is that it's great for falling arches, but it looks stylish. Lots of colors, too!

Sleek, stylish comfort -better than Birkis! I *adore* these sandals. I bought my pair almost four years ago when I was looking for a sandal that would be comfortable enough for all the walking I do, but designed with a bit more flair than the stereotypical clunky, strappy Birkenstocks. The black patent Helens were calling to me...and I haven't regretted the purchase. Super-comfortable, great arch support, and the style and color dress up and down, looking just as great with shorts and t-shirts as they do with floaty summer dresses. I'm still happily wearing them years later, and the uppers still look great and the soles are in surprisingly good shape for all the walking they've done. Even a teething pit bull puppy chewing through one of the straps couldn't keep them down -- the nice folks at the shoe repair shop stitched the chewed ends back together, almost as good as new. These aren't cheap, but with a little care, you'll be able to get years of comfortable, good-looking service out of them...just don't leave them out around teething pups! ;)

Better than Berks - I own about 8 pairs of Berks and now 3 pairs of Mephisto's. I doubt I'll ever go back to Berks. This shoe -"Helen" is great, comfortable, and I love the arch support.

My favorite sandals! I have bought a pair of these every spring for the last several years. From the first day I wore them, I found them the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned.

The best sandals ever! These are the best sandals I have ever owned. The year I bought them I wore them every day from mid-May through Mid-November. Usually I take my shoes off the minute I get home, but I would find myself wearing my Mephistos 'til I went to bed. They are stylish and comfortable. What more could you want?

The shoe is attractive and overall quite comfortable. The only detraction is that the thong is straight and the edge between the toes is a little irritating.

I love these shoes. They do run a bit small, I always wear a 9 or 8.5, but I had to return the first pair to get a size 10, which fits me great. It's also a bit narrow compared to most sandals. Still fits, but just barely. Ultimately I'm very happy with my purchase. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars due to the size issue and narrowness of fit.

I've worn Mephistos for years, and was trying to replace a worn pair. I got the nubuck thinking they would be easier to break in; however, the leather around the toe is a bit stiff. I'm sure they will eventually give, and this is still the most fashionable comfort shoe company!

Cathie - I have very long toes and thought that the ridge would pose a problem. Not so. The only problem I have with the Helen is that the buckle and subsequent strap has brused the top of my right foot. There does not seem to be enough "give" in the sole to prevent this. Other than that, the arch support is phenominal, which is the main reason I bought a Mephisto shoe. I give you 5 stars for arch support. Love the style - it's casual and also somewhat dressy.

This is very comfortable at first but if you want to walk a long day, it is tiring like any other thong that make your toes grab to keep your shoes on. I have had Mephisto sandals that I liked so much they plumb wore out, and others that were very good and I liked a lot. These, I gave up wearing despite the wasting the high cost of Mephistos.

I tried this sandal in the store to see if my toes would fit and they barely did, with lots of room in the rest of the shoe. What stopped me from ordering these sandals in the color I liked was the fact that the bottom of the sandal was very rigid and prevented me from walking with a normal toe-flexing gait. They did not really "roll" at all and allow me to bend my knees while walking. This seemed strange to me because nobody mentioned this in any of the reviews I read (did not read all 700+, only a couple hundred) so hey, maybe it's just me! I'm glad so many others do find comfort in these sandals!

I wanted to love it after reading countless positive reviews on it. But after wearing it around the house, the leather on the big toe area irritated my skin.
