These boots are great quality and so gorgeous! I love the beautiful leather. They go with everything.

I am so happy with these boots and with Zappos customer service. These are my first Fryes. I'd been eying them for a while but was hesitant to spend the money. When the exact boots I wanted (dark brown vintage) went on sale the week before my birthday, I jumped on them. I wear 8/8.5. Ordered the 8 because I read they ran large and stretch. I received them the day before my birthday, and they were beautiful, but unfortunately they were too tight. I wanted to make sure I got an even exchange so I wouldn't lose the sale price when I ordered up a size, so I called Zappos customer service and talked to the nicest rep (while on hold I listened to the joke of the day -- I don't remember what it was, but the fact they have a joke of the day on the customer service line while you wait made me smile). It was after 5, so she said she couldn't get the 8.5s to me by the next day for my birthday, but I'd get them the day after, which I did (plus free shipping, free exchanges, how can you beat that?). The 8.5s fit, but they did give me blisters the first week, so I was nervous they wouldn't work. However, after I broke them in that week they fit great and I wore them almost every day after that, with skinny jeans and skirts and dresses now that it's spring. To top it off, I got a handwritten birthday card in the mail from the customer service rep at Zappos saying she hoped my new boots worked out! The whole experience proved to me how awesome Zappos is and will make me a loyal customer -- not only are these my new favorite boots, but I got them for a great price and with excellent customer service.

This boot looks great on - loved it, but when I walk, the heel grabs my socks and drags them down into the shoe. So have to return.

Best boots ever. I typically wear a 9.5 or 10 in normal shoes. I got the 9.5 and it fits perfectly. I also have the tall Veronicas in brown, and they fit the same. I wish they didn't cost so much, but my old feet can't wear cheap shoes anymore.

These boots are great! I ordered the burnt red vintage in an 8.5 which is my size in pretty much anything. I had to return them for an 8, which I haven't received yet. The 8.5 left room for my heel to slide up in the back and I knew it would cause blisters. The foot part is a very solid make and the leather on the upper part of the boot is very soft and smooth. Great boot, just go a half size down!

What the? I normally take a 9.5. I ordered a 10 in my treat-for-myself Fryes, and I could not get my feet into them. Not the insteps, not the heels. Neither foot! They were beyond tight. It looks like back to Ariats for me...

I am in love with my Veronica Short boots! I'm wearing them as I write this review! I've had them for 3 or 4 weeks now, and I've worn them several times. With the vintage look, they are more on the casual side, but I love that I can wear them with jeans and a sweatshirt, or nice jeans and a sweater to go out on a Saturday night. I love the medium height of the boot, and that the top is wide enough to accommodate thicker jeans, but not too wide to look awkward. They are comfortable too! I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about these. They are a must have!

I was trying to decide between these and the Jenna boot, and I ended up going with the latter. These are actually more brown than a distressed black, especially compare to Jenna. These are also unlined, and because the inside is rough and raw, they pull my socks down when taking them off. The Jenna boots are lined and smooth, and much easier to put on and take off. These were true to size for me, though I know they would take a few days of breaking in. Nice boot, but the Jenna is better.

I really wanted to love these boots. In fact, I kept putting them on over the course of a week or so. I love the distressed finish and the leather is rugged and gorgeous. They really look like you've had them for years. But, yes there is a but. The shaft is just to slouchy and big for my very narrow ankles and calves. They fit true to size. I'm an 8.5 and that's the size I got. Zappos has a great free shipping and return policy so just go ahead and give them a try!

They really are quality boots. I was surprised by how tight they were in the toe - I am ordered an 8 1/2 (which is my usual size) and found my the end of the shoe to be a bit cramped, yet the heel was loose. This led to blistering in the first week I wore them, but my foot has adjusted to them and I now find them to be very comfortable. Real, genuine leather, a truly solid shoe! But an investment...expensive!

I purchased the Veronica Short in the Stone Color. The show itself is beautiful. I also purchased the Veronica Short in Black and Redwood. However, the stone color was almost a 1/4 size too small. When I placed the heel of stone color shoe over the heel of the black ones - there was clearly a visible difference in the width and length of the shoe. The black ones fit perfectly without issue. I have a somewhat wide foot and wear a 9.5 size and the black ones are comfortable without issue. The Stone color ones were too tight and for that reason I’ll be returning them.

This is a beautifully, well-made boot. It pains me to return them. I had read the reviews about needing time to break in these boots, so I thought I'd give them a shot. However, with my feet I don't think it would've worked. I ordered a half size larger, and the length felt a half size shorter, and the width was really narrow up around my toes at the widest part of my foot. I'm bummed that they're being returned because this is exactly what I was looking for.

Beautiful boots but as stated in a review posted just yesterday (one day too late!) and they do in fact run small. I purchased a size 9 and could not get either foot in the boot, so despite the fact that I have never had to buy wides in any other brand. Sadly they do not offer wides, so I will never know if they are as great as other posters say!

Look at the picture of what I thought I was buying. Then look at the product on my foot! Two totally different colors— not something to be explained away by : natural differences. I want black boots, darn it!!!

This is supposed to be a BLACK boot. With weathered wear. It is BROWN WITH ACCENTS OF BLACK.

This is my first EVER review....it’s that important. Super cute boots.....but buyer beware! As with all shoe purchases, I wore these around the house for a bit, and had no problems. Within a matter of about an hour, I had a legit hole in my heel. It is so painful! Of course, I wore them outside....so I suppose I’m stuck with them now. Wear them all day inside before you decide to keep!

So cute. Nice slouchy uppers. Color as indicated in photos. No arch support. Might want a cushion insert.

Love the style, quality, will take time to break in. True to size, Advice a size larger if you plan on wearing thick socks.

These are beautiful boots!! I wear an 11 M but these fit great in the toe & width area but even with thick socks and tightening the buckles my heel was slipping too much. I have skinny legs so the top opening was a bit big. Sad I have to return :(

I love these boots!!! They don’t squeeze my feet and leather is very soft/good quality; very comfortable too!

These run a half size small in my opinion, so I recommend going up a half size. I had ordered these once in my normal size. For some reason, the width of one boot was uncomfortably narrower than the other, so I returned them. A few months later, I decided to try again and went up a half size, and it worked out much better. They're great for winter weather and with thick knit socks. Frye socks are also highly recommended.
