I wanted a slipper that was good for plantar fasciitis as I was told I shouldn't wear regular slippers or go barefoot. After a couple false starts I found these and they fit the bill perfectly. Although I was a little reluctant to pay this much for a slipper I realized I wouldn't think twice about paying this much for shoes and I wear slippers more than shoes through out the day so I ordered them. They work great for around the house and quick runs outside. I especially like the toggle to help tighten or loosen them if I happen to be wearing socks or not. I'm super happy with them and recommend them for anyone who needs arch support.

I tried three different models of Giesswein slippers and two sizes of the vents, but once I "dialed it in" to the right model/size- I am very satisfied. I wear house slippers a fair bit, and the vast majority of slippers I have rejected because of completely inadequate support or flimsy throw-away construction. These feel like they are made custom for me (fairly wide for women's feet and high volume/arch) and I could wear all day without my feet or knees hurting. Although pricey, I feel that they are quality enough to hopefully last long enough the be worth the $. I also like the variety of colors; I ended up with the bright red because they are cheery for the winter (and make me feel slightly gnomish).

Ordered these shoes in the 37 and 38, because I was concerned about some reviewers saying they ran small. I wear a size 6 and found the 37 to be the right size. These shoes are incredibly comfortable and have really great arch support!

I am extremely pleased with these house shoes. I was looking for slippers 1) with backs and 2) with either good arch support or with removeable insoles so I could use my own. I have plantar fascitis and really need the support, and I have slippery stairs in my house and so need secure slippers with backs. These features were extremely hard to find in a slipper. So I was excited to find these Giessweins. They are expensive, but they are just what I was hoping for. The removeable arch support/insoles are excellent. Although at first they felt a bit hard and rigid, I found that in short order they were quite comfortable. They definitely give me the support I need, so no need to substitute other insoles. I like that there is a toggle tie so you can tighten them up - they feel quite secure on my feet. At the same time, they are easy to slip off, so they function very well as slippers. I use them primarily indoors as slippers, but I like the rubber outsole which is slip resistant (important!) and I can run outside to take out the garbage, for instance, if need be. I find the shoes to be very comfortable. I was mindful of the reviews warning that they run small, so I tried two different sizes, but I found that my normal size fit best. The next size up just felt a bit loose. I love how they look - I think they look a bit "European," i.e., hippie-ish. Maybe not everyone would agree or like that, but I do. They look like quality shoes, (which they are), not trendy. I also think the colors of the wool are quite handsome. All in all, bravo!

Normally I wear a size 39 but with the reviews I ordered a 40. When I first tried them on, it felt like my big toe was too close at the end even though there seemed to be a little room between my toe and the shoe. The more I wear them, the better they feel and it doesn't feel like my toe is at the end. I do wear them with socks. I would recommend sizing up 1 size. I really like them.

The wool was warm, but my feet never felt hot. I wore them with socks. I normally wear a woman's size 8 in regular width or a 7 1/2 if a wide width, or I can wear a size 6 1/2 men's shoe. All reviews said to order one size larger, so I did. No half sizes. I ordered a size 8 in men's, but they were too long which caused the arch support to be in the wrong place on my foot. I ordered another model, the Camden, in a size smaller, to see which would work best.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable. My feet don’t sweat in the wool. The soles are removable so the shoes can be machine washed. Can wear inside and out as well. Probably my favorite, most comfortable, shoes ever.

My husband has chronic plantar facitis and needs arch support in all footwear. These slippers are the most comfortable and supportive footwear he owns! They are nice looking and he wears this at home constantly. We just ordered a pair for our son as a Christmas gift as he too, needs arch support. HIGHLY recommend.

This is a great slipper-shoe. Outstanding quality and design. Comfortable and supportive with or without orthotics. More firm and substantial than my Allbirds. My usual size -45- was a perfect fit.

I wear a Woman's 38 for all European made shoes and these were no different. Perfect fit. Very comfy.

This is my second pair of these slippers, which I wear every single day. I only had to replace the first pair because the wool had stretched out after three years and then a cat thought one should be a litter box. :/ I have Ehlers Danols Syndrome hypermobility type and need support while I stand and walk through the house; I work at home, so this slipper is pretty vital. The wear is incredible and makes the price worth it. I used to buy other slippers at $20-40 a pop and they'd barely last a winter season; these I wear all year long with complete comfort and again, the only reason I had to replace them was a cat. Worth your investment. Only problem is they're so comfortable and feel like shoes I sometimes forget and accidentally wear them out of the house.

The reviews suggested purchasing 1/2 size larger. I have a narrow foot & this was not needed for me. I am exchanging for a size smaller. The arch support is great! The slipper kept my feet comfortable, not clammy while wearing them.

I love these. They are the first slippers I have had in many, many years. I am a woman, 73 years old and wear a size 13 slim. The support is great, it is adjustable to fit better, and I love the green color! Expensive, yes, but worth it for slippers that fit and have a slip-proof rubber sole.

I originally bought a pajr of yhese for my husband who has Reynaud’s Syndrome, very high arches and very narrow feet. He loves them. I also bought a pair for myself. I also have high arches and narrow feet. I love the fact that these slippers keep my feet warm but not sweath and that there is arch support in them that helps prevent foot cramps for me. Definitely recommend these slippers.

I bought these for my husband who has Reynaud’s syndrome and AA width feet. These slippers have been great. His toes have stayed warm, the drawstring around the opening allows him to snug the slippers to his feet so that he isn’t slipping around in them, and there is enough arch support (he also has very high arches). Altogether, a big win.

Great house shoe. I can’t stand on our hardwood floors without foot pain so these are my life saver at home. Durable sole for when I just need to take out the trash or get the mail. Highly recommended.

This shoe runs on the small size. I think it would be very comfortable and durable once you find the size that is right for you.

Took some breaking in around the top band. I don’t have wide feet. Wear size 10 shoe. Purchased the 43. Ended up aggressively stretching out the top band then cut out the elastic chord and “synching apparatus”. Just what I wanted in a house slipper. Secure walking up and down stairs. Tempting to wear out cause they’re so darn cozy and warm.

These are the best made slippers I have ever purchased. However, keep in mind that they do run small. So, I generally wear a size 44 (European) in other slippers. In these slippers I wear a size 45. Other than that, I love these slippers.

My third pair of Giesswein. As soon as the chill sets in I wear them continuously till it is summer. I work at home so I needed that arch support that most slippers lack. I'm a fanatic.

These are the best. I've been dealing with awful plantar fasciitis all summer and I bought these as my new house shoes/slippers since they were enclosed and seemed to offer good support. They are a LIFESAVER. So comfortable out of the box and have made my sad feet so much happier with great arch support. I think they'll be warm and cozy for winter, too, but I have fairly narrow feet and could easily add a thin- to medium-weight sock. They are really comfortable without socks, though, and definitely breathe well. I won't be buying any other type of slipper from here on out. Also, they don't make your feet look gigantic. I hate that look in clogs, and while not exactly compact, these aren't like wearing boats on your feet. They ALMOST border on cute. Almost. For a supportive shoe. The plum color is a really lovely deep magenta. I adore these and so far find the craftsmanship entirely worth the price - I just wish I could afford a second pair for outside use.
